76ers defeated me also, in a very average 3-3 sim.

MJ is out for 10 days and we have 7 games in that time.

However, I am confident Albert King can come in and do well. I certainly have enough fire power with Tarpley, McHale, King, Kellogg and Grant. But his defense and rebounding will be missed.

I think the Mid-west crown is secure since we're 5 games clear of Memphis. Which will put us at #2 and give us a good chance of progressing...

strange sim

3-0 against the Hornets.
0-2 against everyone else (a ka @ Raptors and close loss to Wiz at home)

9th spot in the East currently - 9 games above .500 - with a record that would put me 4th seed in the funny Western Conf. Sometimes it's hard to believe someone from there will qualify for the finals too ...

oh, just realized both Raul Doleac AND Joe Kleine were injured for this sim. So Christian Clark of all people had to play meaningful minutes at backup PF and C !!!

Ouch ...

Well that couldn't have worked out any better. Make a big trade and then go 6-0 on the same sim where the Pacers have their first weak play of the season. Now we are both the top team in the league and the hottest. With a 5 game lead over the Hornets we seem to have locked up at least 3rd place, but the battle for first with the Pacers will be tight enough to the end that I will have to chance injuries and play my best players. If Woodson had been able to play more games this season and therefore qualify for the league leaders, the Raptors would have the #1 scorer, rebounder, assist man and shot blocker. I was expecting to take a hot on offense and be better defensively, and that was not the case. We were only slightly better defensively (93.7 ppg against) but our offense was astonishingly better leaving a bit of a dark cloud hanging over Nique's memory in these parts - although it has been only one sim. We scored 112.7 ppg this sim, being held under 115 only once as the Pacers held us to 90.

Yeah, it couldn't worked more better. The last couple of days or might even be weeks, when you keep hyping up your team, I was not buying it. There is just something wrong with your team even with all the elite/talented players in your line-up, and I don't know what it is. And if you look at your record with your "hyped" starting unit, they weren't playing that well. Actually i was quite puzzled.

Then you made the Nique-Gilliam trade which was a big head scratcher for me. I mean, you traded your best player for a player who has arguably reached his ceiling. And he doesn't seem to fill a need for your team. I thought that it was a costly trade for financial flexibility.

Last sim, your team surprised a lot of people especially on the offensive end. I bet there are several GMs here, like me, who thought that your scoring shall decline with the loss of superb scorer like Nique (A- inside A- outside). Instead, your team was superb scoring the ball and defensively I also think that Gilliam is a better upgrade than Nique.

I think you just proved to the league that your team is in the same breathe with the Pacers, Nets and the Hornets. :D

Good job!

Why thank you kind sir. It's always nice to get a different prespective on your team, and it is useually helpful too

However, I'll still go on record as saying I felt I had a hell of a team even with nique, and I don't really think the results came up too short -As you suggested I looked at my record with my starting lineup of corzine/kite/nique/woody/ian and we were 17-6. Magloire has only been here since Day 51.

And I think you might be buying a little too much into ratings. I don't think the value of Nique around the league is all that high right now (although some clearly value him far and beyond what others do). I have a B-A scorer on my team that is offensively far beyond Nique this year yet is 2 ratings behind him offensively. And I think the upgrade Gilliam brings on Defense is huge.

And for what it's worth, in a discussion of the 4 top teams in SSBA, I don't have the Nets on my list, although certainly top 10. I believe the top 4 teams in the East right now are the top 4 in the league, and since that includes your team and your recent 13-3 run, I'm more than happy to return your "Good Job ". Isn't it nice to be one of the power teams?

Well, we've been lapped quite ridiculously after back-to-back ridiculously crap sims - so much so that we're a hair out from missing the playoffs altogether - a rapid and painful fall from grace. Tried a fundamental shift on offense and it went right to pot - which sucks - even though we did have a boatload of injuries last sim.

Need to take a good hard look at the roster and the trade offers I've received (which I'll do today) and go from there.
