Title: Picks 1-5 done Post by: PacersGM on March 19, 2008, 03:00:24 AM Nets Draft SF Danny Manning with pick #1 of round 1.
Suns Draft SG Mitch Richmond with pick #2 of round 1. Clippers Draft SG Hersey Hawkins with pick #3 of round 1. Hawks Draft C Rik Smits with pick #4 of round 1. Grizzlies Draft C Ron Seikaly with pick #5 of round 1. Title: Re: Picks 1-5 done Post by: PacersGM on March 19, 2008, 03:02:22 AM well suns and clippers both needed a big guy and took a sg. wonder why?
Title: Re: Picks 1-5 done Post by: WizardsGM on March 19, 2008, 03:10:02 AM Never draft for need.
Title: Re: Picks 1-5 done Post by: GrizzliesGM on March 19, 2008, 03:12:12 AM Ron Seikaly was actually #1 on my draft list. He will definitely help improve my awful rebounding, I didn't even scout his potential since i figured i had no chance of getting him.
Also, I have Charles Smith's potential if anyone wants to pay a bit of cash for it (this is not against the rules right?). Title: Re: Picks 1-5 done Post by: CelticsGM on March 19, 2008, 05:12:17 AM Manning was undisputed #1 I think.
Hawkins top 3 for sure too. If the pot's ok, Smits over Rony was fine as well. And Mitch could become this years Rosow. but man, is these guys' potential really assigned randomly? Cause I have hardly ever seen a weaker draft class at the top in that regard. Title: Re: Picks 1-5 done Post by: SixersGM on March 19, 2008, 06:00:21 AM Manning was undisputed #1 I think. Title: Re: Picks 1-5 done Post by: HawksGM on March 19, 2008, 08:58:00 AM Happy with Smits but would have like Richmond...I too regret spending all that money on potentials.
Title: Re: Picks 1-5 done Post by: HornetsGM on March 19, 2008, 11:05:48 AM Manning could be really dominant with that size / inside scoring / rebounding at SF.
Title: Re: Picks 1-5 done Post by: SixersGM on March 19, 2008, 11:06:40 AM Manning could be really dominant with that size / inside scoring / rebounding at SF. I second to that! Title: Re: Picks 1-5 done Post by: HawksGM on March 19, 2008, 11:08:38 AM Yea, I think Manning is going to be a stud

Title: Re: Picks 1-5 done Post by: CelticsGM on March 19, 2008, 05:16:16 PM he had the #4 pick before he traded it on draft day.

Tom, who are you scouting this early? :lmao: Title: Re: Picks 1-5 done Post by: NetsGM on March 19, 2008, 07:19:55 PM Yeah, Manning looks like a real star - a little more development and he'll be great. A little while back, I let potentials throw me off of my instinctive picks, and it didn't really help me out. Really glad to land the first pick in the Suns trade - this is the guy I really wanted all along...going back to my comment when the preview was originally uploaded.
I hear what guys are saying about the pot - and who they must be talking about. This is what makes this draft really interesting - if only for a different randomization, alot of these players would make many of us want to do cartwheels to get them.
