lost to the celtics  :( and suns but still won the coin flip or whatever the decision of FBB was to keep me in first place. hornets would have deserved that spot as well. congratulation to every team that made the POs.

Went 4-2 with backups starting, even stealing a win against the Bucks. Ended up in the inevitable 2nd playoff position, and just one win shy of 60.

Get to face the upstart heat in the first round, should be a good series.

Also, pretty excited to have the first pick in the second round.

bah. Even though I split the season series with them, the Pacers crushed me on days 110 and 111, so I can't complain about the 1st seed thing. I'm used to being the third seed anyway. I just hope I can make it out of the first round.

Resting the starters didnt help me avoid Houston unfortunately. We were 1-3 against them in the regular season, but all games coming before we started turning it around a bit better after the trade. Still, on the road, I am not confident.

Its amazing the numbers my stars put up in such limited minutes:

Magic - 12.0/3.4/2.8 in 12min
Collins - 9.5/2.0 in 13min
Evans (1 game) - 11/0/5/1 in 15min

Zollner started at C, put up 13/8/2/1.5/3.4
Macauley at PF - 15.4/8.9/2.1

The others didnt really do anything, which is why I went 2-6.

I can't believe what happened in sim 12.
But I know one thing for sure: what a gutsy performance from the Celtics.

After losing @ Indiana on day 112 we were 1.5 games behind the Raptors (3 games back in the loss cloumn !!!)

But then came the return game and everything changed. With Mahorn playing great against Sabas and Uncle Cliffy keeping Dwight Howard in check defensively, the Celtics escaped with a 2pt victory over the top team in the league. Behind a great team effort we then downed the Heat in OT, and finally went on the road to beat the Cavs, one of the hottest teams recently, on day 120. Peters was unstoppable, and Mahorn great. That gave us a 41-41 record (after sim 1, still with Tyler, Moncrief, Gutierrez, I proclaimed to play .500 all season ... and we did)

But how did we slip into the 8th seed?

When the Raps topped the Cavs by 2 on the road, I had given up any hope ... until day 116. That's when the Raptors' John Salley and Quintin Dailey combined to shoot 2-23 in a 27pt home loss to the HAWKS (!). Then the Knicks travelled to Toronto and took a 9pt win. And suddenly we were tied in the standings. A 1pt Toronto win in Phoenix seemed like a back breaker to us, but on day 120 a third lottery team came to our rescue. The Bulls (BIG THANKS TO THEM) overcame a lousy first half (and a 7pt deficit in the 4th quarter) to win the 4th 33-19 and lift the Celtics into the playoffs.

Props Trev for making this a great battle to the wire.

I don't know if another injury occured (other than your backup PG), but I sincerely believe you should have taken that spot ... and I sincerely believe you got badly fucked by FBB again. I mean how can you explain the same team beating the Bucks, Hornets, Mavs, Cavs, and Blazers on the road in the last few sims ... and losing to the Bulls (3 times), Hawks (twice), and Grizzlies, mostly at home ???

Too bad we can't discuss that bullshit at the pub ...

A perfect 4-0 sim to win the division and the top seed in the west.  Time to update my sig.

stumbled into the 4th seed, which was more by virtue of the cavs stumbling than my own good play.  Interesting matchup with the Cavs, who I split the regular season series with 2-2.

Munson won DPOY, and all-defensive first team.  Rosow won all-rookie first team, and Sampson/Munson all league third team.

I forgot about the regular season awards -- there were a ton of individual accolades for the Hornet players:

Kyle Macy -- All League Second Team, All Defensive Second Team
John Stockton -- All League Second Team, All Defensive Second Team
Dominique Wilkins -- All League Third Team
Manute Bol -- All Defensive First Team
Roy Hinson -- All Defensive Second Team

every one of my starters received an award. wow!

the league is loaded with awesome PFs. If you moved him to C he would've been all-league 1st team.

We somehow managed to keep #2 despite 4-4 sim (lost 2x to Pistons) which is good, Rodman should be back in 2 days, Jerome in 13.

Good thing....
Zeke broke his assists record vs Knicks with 20, yet had a near Q-duple vs Clippers with 15pts, 10 rebs, 10 to's lol and 7 assists.
Holman was a decent suprise as well, size does matter after all.

Hakeem had 2 40+ games in last sim, finished 2nd again in PPG in league,  Zeke finished 1st in APG and career low 3.9 topg so i really hope two of them continue the great work in POs as well. Especially Rd1 until Dennis and then Kersey come back. If we get past Jazz, and everyone remains healthy we can go all the way im positive.

Hakeem won his 1st POTW awards this last sim (both of them) + POTM for 1st time as well so i hope he's more then ready for PO madness.

He was selected to All-League's 2nd team, Rodman to All-Def 2nd, but i really cant understand how Zeke didnt get any reward for leading the league in APG.

Bad thing....
We play Jazz in round1 and we lost to them in the final game of regular season at home, but hopefully Rodman when he gets back will make a difference.

....and damn, i play the team to whom i lost all 4 games during regular season without one key offensive player and without key defensive one. A miracle must happen for me to beat Jazz despite home court advantage.

To be honest I was hoping to get a series vs the Warriors. Although I hadn't actually looked at the reg. season series.

I'm just happy we're in the playoffs. Homecourt is just a bonus. I'm all about the big picture, winning this year is not important, but still nice. If we make it to the second round I'd be exstatic!

Awards. I forgot all about the awards.

Just one Net represented in the whole-she-bang...and represented well: Richard Milner with his 4th MVP award, and another first team nod.

And yes, it is amazing how so many guys had the same great idea to play their star C at PF to balance out the talent at that position.

It is also amazing how so few of us had the great idea to return them to their original positions to regain advantage of the matchups.  :bash:

Looking forward to the matchup with the Heat - we won the season series 3-1, but it's interesting that three of those wins were on foreign turf. Good luck Heat, and the rest of the playoff combatants.

wow, I just saw the Warriors are in a freefall lately. What happened? Wasn't the Fleming trade supposed to bring back glory? For now it seems petty much like a desaster.

It was not the Fleming trade that caused the semi-fall.
I am pretty sure it was trading Tyson Thurmond.  His shotblocking was what kept my defense at least average...
Vern has been even better then I expected.
