Post by: PacersGM on March 03, 2008, 03:47:48 AM
well hope dwight will stay now on the court because without him we have virtual no chance to stop any good team.

better, a lot better.

started the sim red hot, winning in Jersey, yet again. After an encouraging 1pt loss in Cleveland (and they are good, smashing the Pacers, Nets and Blazers this sim) we beat the Mavs by one but unfortunately lost both the starting C and the leading scorer in that game. So the rest of the sim we had troubles scoring and finished 3-3 overall.

but since Hawks (1-7) and Raptors (1-7) had brutal sims themselves we regained the 8th seed, rightfully so.
 :D

So since Quince Peters will return soon, but C Kleine is out longer, we hope to build on that success (i take beating the #3 team East and the #1 team West any day)

what makes me especially happy is the unselfishness of this team:

http://rosters.ssbabasketball.com/boxes/81-1.html
31 assist on 40 fieldgoals, that's how you win on the road.

(against the Bulls the Celtics got 37 ass on 42 fgs, but that's a different competition)

Yes, we certainly bring the best out in the C's  :bods:

Meh 4-3 sim.

somehow I believe the Sabas deal will backfire. The Pacers look horrible at times when ancient Dwight isn't playing (or even playing well), and they not only gave a young big guy that was perfectly fitting their system but a possible lottery pick (Raptors) on top. And the cracks in their armor are starting to show ...

Well we started out feeling great about the sim, going 7-2 and riding a 6 game win streak, gaining 4th seed/home court and then it all goes down the drain.

Mike Evans - Dislocated Knee - 29 days

The Pistons were angry that he was lighting them up for 20 points in 22 minutes and sent out Tanya Harding to take care of their business. I can only hope we are still in the playoff picture when he comes back at the end of the regular season.

Stats:
Tyler - 7.1/10.2/2.7/1.1/2.2
Borgmann - 12.9/8.8/1.0/1.4/3.2
Collins - 27.0/5.6/2.2/2.2/2.6to
Magic - 22.6/8.4/5.2/1.4/3.1to
Evans - 16.6/6.7/8.4/2.0/3.1to

Looking good. Injuries to the Pacers gave me a window to take the division (and conference) lead. It would be huge for me to get homecourt for the playoffs since I've been next to unbeatable there.

The Celtics ended our 14 games winning streak. :moon:

Dammit. Jerome is out 43 days. And we are doing so great. Damn. Hopefully Clyde can sub him well, Jerome is
amazing this season.

Won 3 in a row then lost to Jazz with Clyde out as well.

Even with both SF's out we beat the Bucks, then lost to against rival Mavs.

Drexler came back and we won against Wolves.

Our last game was horrible, Cavs totally outplayed us.

5-3 sim so i cant complain. Lost 2 of those without both SF's playing, so i can just wonder if it would've been
a perfect 8-0 sim if they didnt go down.

Too bad this injury came now, it will be tough to compete for #1 now, but if everyone stays healthy and Drexler
makes a good sub for Kersey, maybe we still stand a chance. Altough i doubt he can produce Jerome's super offensive
 numbers and rebs.

well as always you missed the facts  :moon:
since acquiring sabonis my team won 14 out of 19 games. dwight missed 11 games and played twice less than 20 mins.
with dwight playing more than 20 mins i have only lost 1 game and that was a 1 pt loss to the jazz. man we really looked horrible in that game  :bash:
of course i knew that newcomb is a good C and that the pick could be a late lotto but you were the one who told us that this draft won't produce any stars.  :lol2:
Sabonis on the other hand is still on his rookie contract and has the pot to become a 20 points 10 rebounds guy, maybe even challenge tobey's production.  :bounce:

Sabas also shoots around 45% (mainly due to playing outside a lot I suppose), doesn't block shots at all (career high 3 !!!), and averages more TOs than assists (which is interesting as he's considered one of the better passing big men).

And looking at the 14-5 record since aquiring Sabonis more closely, I see a few quality wins
Nets (though they were still starting Natt then), Celtics (sabas clearly outplayed Joe Kleine), Cavs & Pistons and a very nice road win over the Mavs. The rest were must-wins.
But I also see blowout losses in Atlanta, vs Trailblazers and Cavs (both at home) and to the Spurs (with Dwight, also back for the Jazz loss)

don't get me wrong, a team with Dwight will always be among the contenders, but no more than with Newcomb.

Well this brutal sim is squarely the fault of one man - Tom. All his talk of us underacheiving I wanted to make sure a CPU made DC wouldn't go 7-1 or something like that. Apparently not.

Screw you, Tom.  :moon:

2 - 2 this sim

We are constantly around that mark, I'm happy that we seem to have gained some stability this year
