Title: sim 4 done
Post by: PacersGM on February 20, 2008, 03:45:55 AM
solid sim again. lost against hornets in OT. shultz again owned macy but it wasn?t enough this time. split the games against heat. MJ was too much to handle for my team. had a nice win over pistons and some blowouts.

Nice sim at 6-2. Lost to the Hornets by a deuce, with Doleac and Wilkins holding my 2 and 3 to real bad shooting, which was the difference - that and Milner not really getting in Stockton's passing lanes at all. Lost to the Bulls as well, with old friend Mike Gminski beating the poop out of Tobey, and the fellas tossing the ball around rather carelessly. James Worthy got some minutes at C, which was interesting, but he was a little overmatched.

One more sim til the Natt train rolls into town, and Bennett's back healthy, so this is all good.

that's what I love. The worst team in the league beating the best team in the league on the road. Props to the bulls for starting to turn the corner ...

man i can't wait to get Ewing. This team is a playoff team with him. The biggest problem right now is turnovers, and that will improve alot when we move out Person and Schader's combined 6 a game and bring in Ewing and Wiggins' 2.5.

very interesting 5-4 sim for the Hawks.  A total change in pace and quite a few lineup adjustments seem to have a new look on the team.  We start off the sim 3-0 with Ennis Whately.  He goes down after 17 minutes in game 4 and 1-4 without him, then he comes back and we win.  So 4-0 with my whole lineup in tact.  Look at Spud Webb's numbers in Whatley's absence:

Spud Webb
22.7 PPG
10.8 APG
6.6 RPG
2.8 SPG
4 TOPG

He played very well minus the TO's, but without the wins he doesn't have a chance at starting, even though Ennis didn't like the fast pace at all.  Spud did get some time at the SG and played well this sim.  Scott Skiles and his A shooting might be what we need to support LaFrentz a little more.  We will try this lineup for 1 more sim too see how it works again.

I'm really looking forward to Day 51. Hopefully George Johnson can give me a good boost off the bench. Doleac is efficient but not much of a scorer.

4-5 sim with another injury to another big man but still held onto the lead in the west.  Really miss Laporte's league leading rebounding and solid all around play.  Moving Barkley back to PF helped some as he pulled down 13.2 boards this sim but I was getting 10 a game from him at the SG spot.

I am very pleasantly surprised with my team right now...
17-9, with the young guns playing big minutes.
oFG% is not that great, but the team is outrebounding, outstealing, and is causing more turnovers then their opponent.  Along with going to the line almost 26 times per game, I guess it partially makes up for the average to poor shooting defense.

This group just seems to click well together.  No one averaging over 17 ppg, but 5 guys averaging over 12.
Not quite sure what I will do with Taylor Doleac once he arrives, but he will get plenty of playing time as a back-up SG and SF.

Not sure who my scoring options really should be at this point....

UGH
How can a team go from conference leaders and finals to a 44% win rate? Cliff Robinson I say...

Didnt help that the Nets and Bailey Tobey took out Borgmann and made him miss 4 games (3 losses). Next sim we welcome Tyler, and it couldnt come at a better time. Going to have to fiddle with the settings a bit too, they obviously arent working.

Stats:
Kleine - 7.4/10.3/2.4/0.4/1.7
Borgmann - 10.7/8.7/2.0/0.7/2.0
Collins - 24.9/5.3/2.4/1.4/1.6to
Magic - 19.9/7.9/4.0/2.4/3.3to
Evans - 17.1/4.3/10.4/1.6/3.3to

haha, nice analysis.

completely ignoring the fact you went 0-3 with Borgman starting PF and 2-2 with Uncle Cliffy. and that was hardly Cliff's fault as he averaged 12ppg, 14rpg and a block on 48% shooting, and apart from being helpless against DRob his defense was ok (for example Gminski was held way below his averages in a defeat).

I guess your problem is that with Robinson starting you don't have a Robinson coming from the bench anymore.

But I will take care of his correct utilization ... after building up his confidence once he comes to New England ...
:-)

Had a good sim, started bad with win against Nets, but the rest was all good.

Beat Nuggets, Clippers away.

Perfect road trip was ruined a bit with 2pt loss in Utah ( Zeke's 39/12/5/5 and Hakeem's 26/11 wasnt enough).

Back home won both games.

Hopefully we can improve our frontcourt soon.

Those were his first productive games of the season, just saying a big "eff  you" to the Nuggets organization because he apparently never wanted to play here in the first place.

Well, at least that explains why Tyler is doing great recently.
He's simply enjoying the finals games here knowing he'll be going to SSBA hell soon ...
