Title: presim 2 done
Post by: PacersGM on February 11, 2008, 11:48:38 AM
stan is already good enough. depending on the matchups he will start some games this year for me.
newcomb this time had 19 points and 9rebounds avg. my point guards still have no clue.
hope everything will be okay with butler controlling the game.

Spud Webb seems to have grown by leaps and bounds.  Only a small sample of games but he is scoring more efficiently and has reduced his TO's by a good amount.  It looks like I will have a nice PG battle on my hands to begin the season.

Kyle Macy 4 MVP!

Still having a little trouble with Wilkins. I might move him down on my options list...

Hm..

As a #1 option, Evan Rosow, the #11 pick, is 6th in the league in scoring.

Maybe I should start Isaiah Laettner at PG. In his first two start in like 15 seasons he held the Piston's Brice to 9pts on 4-15 shooting (10/2/8 and a block himself) and got a triple double against the Lakers with 16/11/10 holding Sleepy Floyd to a scoreless 6ass and 4 to.
I mean this Laettner guy is 5'6" 175lb, and he's giving up 11 inches to brice and 9 inches to Sleepy !!!

Tyler returned and gave us a steady 18/12/4 with 2 blocks while holding opponent centers to 10/8 and 41% shooting. Last season he was even more effective at PF, but I don't trust Levi Divac starting C yet.

Went 11-4 overall, but with John Tyler playing we're 7-2 and held opponents to 87ppg, 42% shooting and outrebounded them by 7rpg.

I think this team might have a little left in the tank, and I don't see any team running away with the hardware just yet ...
8-)

Well my offensive oriented team is a strong team.  Shooting over .500 from the floor and scoring over 107 ppg.  And defense didn't slip too much.  Minor injuries to my backups at the SF/PF/C spots make it somewhat difficult to judge how th eteam would have fared.  Otherwise 8-5 after going 9-4 the first preseason is OK.

One big experiment - Barkley at SG (non option): 19.1 8.5 2.8 1.7 0.8 1.9 .526 .649 .000

who needs MJ and his A- A- A- A C+  when you can have Rosow and his B+ B C+ C+ D+  ?

Well, I could not be more suprised at my team's outcome.
While not overly impressive offensively, the Warriors, with Thorpe at PF and McCray at SF, were an absolute shutdown defensive team.
Otis also enjoyed being a first option, grabbing 21.9 ppg, on 47% shooting.
Being we went 9-7  the first preseason, this was a great improvement.

makes me wonder if McCray or Thorpe should be my starting PF.  Right now, I am leaning towards Thorpe...  Just not sure who will work best with Barton.

After 9-2 with my projected lineup, I tried something a little more risque this sim, and I went 7-4.

Magic came off the bench at backup SF/SG/PG and avg 14/5/4/2 in just under 30min and only 2 turnovers

Cliffy came off the bench too at PF/SF/C and avg 7/7 in 22min

Its clear that the lossed grade in IN is hurting Evans offensively this year, down to 16ppg again, but was much better this sim with 5.4reb and 10.0ast and 2.3stl to only 2.9to

Khalid Bellamy started at SG and didnt do much: 5.5/3.6/2.4/1.5/0.6 on bad percentages

Borgmann, despite no gain in DEF, is blocking a tonne more shots than last year, 3.5 this sim to go with 12/9.4

Kleine had 12.5/8.5 starting at C

Collins is for real, pumping in 27.7 on great percentages .472/.441/.908

btw, it's an excel spreadsheet called "download_entire_site.xls" and a windows tool called "flashget" that make it pretty easy and about a minute of work (and 15 minutes waiting time) to get the job done.
