Title: Re: FA day 3 done Post by: NetsGM on February 03, 2008, 06:47:15 PM Oh my good lord, noone ever takes my MLE.... :bash:
Title: Re: FA day 3 done Post by: GrizzliesGM on February 03, 2008, 06:49:44 PM I am pleased to sign Matthew Hobson with the MLE. My frontcourt had no depth at all before this signing. If I can get 1-2 more decent backup C/PF then my team should be good to go.
Edit: Looking at my team right now, it looks like Hobson will start at PF, allowing me to use Steve Johnson at the C and PF backup. Unless my Doleac, Hobson, or Johnson get injured, my frontcourt is fine as is. Title: Re: FA day 3 done Post by: NetsGM on February 03, 2008, 06:50:52 PM And is this MUCH earlier than usual, or is it just me?
Title: Re: FA day 3 done Post by: CelticsGM on February 03, 2008, 07:02:57 PM the deadline for getting offers in is 5pm eastern, so no matter when the sim usually runs, it CAN run anytime after 5pm.
That has been stated a lot of times already ... Title: Re: FA day 3 done Post by: NetsGM on February 03, 2008, 07:25:54 PM Don't get your knickers in a knot, Tom....I'm not complaining or anything....just surprised. I usually don't see any sims before the AM the following day, eastern time.
And since I didn't really know that the 5pm listed was eastern time, at least that part helps. So thanks. Title: Re: FA day 3 done Post by: CelticsGM on February 03, 2008, 08:41:39 PM eastern europe time. don't forget WE run this league (and DJSL for that matter)
and now get your ass back to the Superbowl, and stop getting on our nerves just because you still sit on your MLE. Ever thought about stopping to offer it to the Embry's, Scott's and Bailey's ... ? :lol2: Title: Re: FA day 3 done Post by: NetsGM on February 03, 2008, 09:02:12 PM It would be nice if that was specified on the schedule.
Title: Re: FA day 3 done Post by: NetsGM on February 03, 2008, 09:38:29 PM eastern europe time. don't forget WE run this league (and DJSL for that matter) How the hell is that supposed to help? And who is we? And what the hell does DJSL have to do with anything? Quote and now get your ass back to the Superbowl, and stop getting on our nerves just because you still sit on your MLE. Ever thought about stopping to offer it to the Embry's, Scott's and Bailey's ... ? I would make careful effort to not get on your nerves, but it seems damn near impossible to do. I've never seen anyone so easily triggered into long-winded rants as you.:lol2: Honestly Tom, when 95% of the sims occur at about 4am eastern time on what ends up being the day after what is listed on the schedule, it is not a sin to ask my question. Perhaps you are familiar with the expression "restraint is the better part of valor"? You should consider it before your next inclination to rant on about nothing. Title: Re: FA day 3 done Post by: CelticsGM on February 03, 2008, 09:47:44 PM whatever ...
;-) Title: Re: FA day 3 done Post by: SonicsGM on February 04, 2008, 12:40:48 AM Does anybody else find it weird that a career 7.6 PPG player got the max contract?
I mean, Byron Scott looks to have solid ratings, but that's some serious coin. Title: Re: FA day 3 done Post by: MagicGM on February 04, 2008, 01:23:41 AM Does anybody else find it weird that a career 7.6 PPG player got the max contract? ouch. maybe he has something up his sleeve? I mean, Byron Scott looks to have solid ratings, but that's some serious coin. Title: Re: FA day 3 done Post by: PacersGM on February 04, 2008, 03:03:07 AM no idea why thurl also get a near max deal. it seems he hasn?t checked his roster or that we have a hard cap here.
Title: Re: FA day 3 done Post by: CelticsGM on February 04, 2008, 03:19:05 AM Does anybody else find it weird that a career 7.6 PPG player got the max contract? when did it start that players get contracts matching their production? Of course you pay for ratings ... or could you logically explain why Antonio Lenard, the most underrated player in SSBA history lasted until FA day 3 or 4 for the better part of his career and hardly ever getting much attention past MLE at all.Byron Scott is 25, B off, A def, tremendous pot (still B after 4 TCs with +7 net improvement already). I have a gut feeling that he will suprise people. Bailey is a 25 yr old 10/10/2.5bpg guy on rock solid %. Sure, both contracts are maybe 2 years too long, but with 3 teams left with enough cash for a max offer - and these two probably the only young studs left worth to offer for - it's probably not the worst choice going the safe route rather than losing them for nothing. Title: Re: FA day 3 done Post by: PacersGM on February 04, 2008, 06:25:28 AM It would be nice if that was specified on the schedule. what do you mean? It is announced that every sim the deadline is 5pm. It never changed. But most times it is easier for me to do it in the early morning my time. About 6 to 8 hours later. Title: Re: FA day 3 done Post by: CelticsGM on February 04, 2008, 06:33:26 AM since we had a delay to accomodate the new KingsGM, this sim in fact was done 33 hours after FA day 2, so I can't really understand why anyone would have a reason to complain here?
No rant, just wondering ... Title: Re: FA day 3 done Post by: HawksGM on February 04, 2008, 06:34:33 AM I was uneasy offering Byron 6 mil to start let alone a max
Title: Re: FA day 3 done Post by: CelticsGM on February 04, 2008, 06:56:46 AM I was uneasy offering Byron 6 mil to start let alone a max that's why he's playing for the Kings now. ;-) Hey, i'm not saying he's great or anything and we won't know until preseason. But last season was completely irrelevant as the CPU put Scott to backup PG over Bagley, for whatever reason, and the seasons before he was backup in every game. So who knows ... ... but the pot is definitely there to justify this salary. Title: Re: FA day 3 done Post by: NetsGM on February 04, 2008, 07:24:10 AM since we had a delay to accomodate the new KingsGM, this sim in fact was done 33 hours after FA day 2, so I can't really understand why anyone would have a reason to complain here? From the time the day 2 post was modified (the accepted bids) to the posting of day 3, it was 14 hours. No rant, just wondering ... Title: Re: FA day 3 done Post by: NetsGM on February 04, 2008, 07:51:07 AM well, my FA's pretty much done. I have 13 men under roster, and only 1.1 million in space left until the hard cap.
Title: Re: FA day 3 done Post by: BlazersGM on February 04, 2008, 11:33:28 AM fuck still nothing. Even Paxson opted for more money but we offered a long term contract with raises.
Title: Re: FA day 3 done Post by: HawksGM on February 04, 2008, 11:34:53 AM fuck still nothing. Even Paxson opted for more money but we offered a long term contract with raises. At least you don't have 17+ million that nobody seems to want. Guys have been taking the MLE over playing in Atlanta. Title: Re: FA day 3 done Post by: HornetsGM on February 04, 2008, 11:55:49 AM ... but the pot is definitely there to justify this salary. It would surprise me if there were much potential left after 4 TCs. Title: Re: FA day 3 done Post by: CelticsGM on February 04, 2008, 12:41:18 PM At least you don't have 17+ million that nobody seems to want. Guys have been taking the MLE over playing in Atlanta. go figure ... :lol2: Title: Re: FA day 3 done Post by: HawksGM on February 04, 2008, 03:18:36 PM go figure ... :lol2: lol, if I don't get anybody this TC, I'm going to get some big expirings and wait until next season. Title: Re: FA day 3 done Post by: CelticsGM on February 04, 2008, 04:21:21 PM or keep the money for the first broken up attempt at contending. not the worst concept ...
Title: Re: FA day 3 done Post by: LakersGM on February 05, 2008, 09:02:32 PM Re-signed Paxson and Brewer to one year contracts. I don't exactly have plans for them on the team, but they were signed for trade bait throughout the season.
