well my Fa is already over.
Offered kersey the max i can offer without getting over the hard cap. also signed already 2 backups who should give me enough depth again.
Cavs get their PG back for a great price imo.
Pettit is coming home to retire. no idea how he will get PT.
Sidney and Calvin changed teams. Both had higher offers but decided they need a change.

Picked up Sleepy Floyd at a pretty reasonable contract, six million to start for a 27 year old PG with "A" handles.

I also picked up Frankie Sanders for 3 years at about 4 million a year. His ratings (B C+ C A- C- C ) aren't bad and is still relatively in his prime at 29 years old.

No complaints here so far.

Man, I offered Shireman the MLE and he took the LLE... dumbass

Very disappointed that Juan Ward bolted elsewhere.  I guess he was afraid of Mark Jackson

I can't believe Sidney Green bolted, that really screws up my whole team, that first I just traded looks like gold now.

no, offers are accepted in the order you see in the transaction log. So when Shireman accepted the LLE the Rockets MLE was still on the table. So right ... dumbass!

What a shocker for the Hawks, losing their best player in Green.

[caution: rant
if you ask me, the Hawks made a BIIIIIIG mistake this offseason. They knew they would have 18 mill cap space available, and resigning Green, an A- def 21/12/1.5 off player at age 24 was an absolute must. Doesn't get any closer to franchise player status, no matter how the Hakws did last season. And Green was the BIG PRIZE this offseason, with low loyalty and muchos greed.

So what they SHOULD have done: Buy an extension for Green for $450. $10 were missing, so what, you get that for a future 2nd. Then you have $14+ mill to spend on a big FA offer, or multiple smaller ones, and once somebody signed get Schabi back.
Instead they opt to use the money to scout a #9 pick for $400, end up with Chuck Murray and lose Green. And even if Green would have signed back for the max offer i'm sure they submitted, there wasn't any more cap money left for a big FA offer. Call that a missed opportunity. And i'm not even asking if you rather spend $400 on Chuck Murray C 19 7'0'' 305 C D C B+ C A than $450 on Sidney Green PF 25 6'9'' 220 B C- D A- A- C . Ouch ...

rant end]
:-)

Yeah, its really really tough to lose a franchise big man. I still remember when I lose John Tyler. I had a good team back then with Edgar Barner, who was a very good frontcourt player back then, to help Tyler on my frontcourt.

Everything happens for a reason and life goes on.

Woohoo!  I got Pettit!

Not this he's a world beater (although his ratings are still "good enough" to be a contributor, even at 38), but I definitely wanted him to retire a Piston.  I tried to trade for him the last 2 years, so this was nice.

I agree with Celts if I had $440 at the time that extensions are due before sim 12. I only had $220 then and despite my effforts to acquire the money, I could not find a reasonable offer. So I had to just hope he would re-sign, and he didn't.  It pretty much ruins my team for at least a few more seasons, but now I just have to try and salvage the situation.

$100 for perfect attendance and $120 for DCs could have been used already, so the difference WAS just $10.

But it's a moot point now, and assuming you DID make an attempt to do it the right way, I can just feel sorry you got robbed that way. Guess nobody deserves to have a star taken from him, but that what makes FA so unpredictable, unfortunately just on occasios ...

I changed my offer at 9pm last night to a 1 year 4.6 mil deal for Dampier, but it appears that it didnt take as I signed him for 3 years? Weird.

yea, I guess that's what I get when you don't read the rules fully, but at the time I didn't think it would be too big of a deal seeing that I could offer him the best contract out there.  I would definitely rather have Sidney on my team, but Sixers finally got retribution for John Tyler, whom I believe did the same thing to him a while back.

Its good to resign Rob Williams to a fair contract. At this point it looks like he will be my starter which i'll be fine with assuming he improves in tc like he did last season.

It sucks to lose a very good player via FA. Sometimes there's just nothing you can do about it.

If it lessens the blow at all, I think Green's stats were inflated -- 20 ppg is probably not going to happen again.

Except on the 6ers

IDK, they at least have Malone and Dr. J -- aside from Green, the Hawks didn't have a single player with better than a B- inside scoring. Their next highest scorer was Peter Schabinger, who had just C A- scoring. Bill Laimbeer scored 14 ppg with just C+ C- scoring...

Green is not a 20 ppg scorer, nor do I believe he's a franchise guy.  He'll be back down to 15/11 at best this year.

I think Green will be around 18/10, only because the mailman is inside too. Green was averaging about 17/11 until the last 3 sims when I changed my focus from outside to inside.  He thrived off an inside focus, so if the 76ers go with that, I could see another solid year for him.

I picked up my shotblocker in Pryzbilla for the MLE.  Hopefully he can improve a little in rebounding in TC.  Then he might be a nice addition.

Also added Vranes who I picked up at the minimum last year as filler.  He played a few games and I liked his defense.  I started him at SG (on Magic) against the Nuggets when I rallied with 2 straight wins after going down 0-3.  A low risk gamble for 3 years at the minimum.  And with my stars locked up (except Barkley) to big deals I would need 3 years of filler anyway.

sorry didn?t noticed that you changed your offer. i had inserted the list already since i didn?t had the time later on. Afterwards i just checked if you made some new offers for other guys.
problem is now that your 3 year offer was cleary the best offer but your 1 year offer would have been close to others. so i can?t decide if he would be yours with a 1 year offer also.

I really hopy you have let in the new KingsGM in time for FA.

It took pretty long, but it would sure be a horrible kickstart into SSBA losing his only two pieces he HAS to resign, to have any trade value: Byron Scott and Thurly Bailey

"close" meaning MLE, and I specifially offered a shade more because I knew he would take it lol

Shaun Dampier turned down my 6yr with 5.4mil starting salary last season for your MLE, so you never know.

I think he should be given the option of either taking him with the contract that he has now, or sending him back into FA.

well of course he has that option. but i think it is more the decision of the nets now since he traded for him.

My statement was in response to your consideration of allowing him to keep him for a 1-year deal -- that's the least fair option, which is why I said either 3 years or nothing...

If the Nets traded for him then 3 years should definitely stand, no options.

i also meant the option of 3 years or back to FA.

I traded for him with the three-year contract, and am fine with it.
