well very happy with my draft picks. was heading into the draft with the mindset of finding a defensiv big and a good shooter with some defense.
was really amazed how many decent bigs were still available. it was a tough call between divac and stan but stan should be able to step right into my rotation.
with my last pick i had an even more difficult choice since i found 3 guys who looked good already. dennis was the clear leader of the pack but his pot scared me.
well all i can say the ability to check pot is a nice feature. :lol:
so with 2 late picks i found 2 guys who will get mins of the bench maybe even start some games for my team.

horace should play well next to brad. i too a long look at him but my need for a C was deciding factor.

Well, fit a need with size, drafting 7'3" / 288 Divac, who's got B+ defense and C+ rebounding.
He was #1 on my list, so i'm happy, and I hope that B pot is somewhat on target (70 would be fine with me)

Interesting that Reggie Lewis, a great scorer in a far too short career, lastet until #28. If he's got any kind of decent pot this could be the late steal ... but on the other hand, it sucks that rookie stats were used for his SSBA ratings, since he made a quantum leap from 4.5ppg to 18+ppg in his soph season and never looked back.

Reggie was #2 on my list, and am ecstatic to have him. 7 of the 8 guys on my list were taken as a whole.

I really wanted Reggie too, and if I was able to get on last night I would have had him at#21, good pick Nuggs, hopefully he turns into something good for you.

I'm still feeling my way around what kind of stats translate into results in this league, is this a decent backup PG for the 23rd pick?

the most important rating for a PG is obviously handles. B- is very subpar for a point guard, and C potential never looks great but you never know what his potential really is

you never know what you will get with a b- handle guy but for a backup guy taking around 10 mins i think he will do okay. i remember a guy with C handles who was my starting pg for several years and did a great job not turnig over the ball. he never had more than 7 ass but it didn?t matter since the rest of my team was sharing the ball really well. everyone else had at least 3 ass per game.

here's my analysis: at 6'2 he has size and apparently a nice outside shot. his handling isn't overwhelming at B- so he's likely not a great passer but still could be a decent ball handler. Quickness factors in too, but it's way to early to tell now.

If I remember correctly, my longterm PG Darius Perry was B- and did great things.

Hawkins is one of those guys who, honestly, could become good, bad or non-descript.  Not a bad pick, especially if he can improve.

Yeah.  At 23 you're not going to get a complete player.  Never.  With that in mind, I think Hawkins was a fine pick.  A C B+ offensive player is probably going to be solid offensively.  If that's the case, you're hoping the B- handles is of the "low assists" variety (rather than the high assists, high turnovers), so he at least won't hurt you with turnovers.  But with a C potential, his defense very well may improve.  Not drastically, but if you end up with a solid scorer off the bench with B+ defense or so, that's value at this time of the draft.

i think you go by bpa especially late in the draft, so hawkins ain't bad at all.
