Title: Day 2 Free Agency Results Post by: CavsGM on April 02, 2005, 08:00:23 PM Wow, that is a huge contract for Hughes. Way too much, I think.
Title: Day 2 Free Agency Results Post by: NetsGM on April 02, 2005, 08:02:03 PM Bigtime contract for Hughes, but he was a bigtime player. Locks up the SG position for a decade. Puts the Hornets 1 piece away from making a serious run.
Blazers made a huge splash. Re-signing their own guys who were key to the playoff run for significantly less than they had asked extensions for. I got a competent bench player. Nothing to get excited about, but it was for the minimum. Great signing by the Clips. He's quickly turned a team without many pieces into a team with a great young core. Brand/Chandler/Brown are a great frontcourt combo, and Chandler/Brown are signed to great deals. Livingston, Gordon, Maggette, Brand, Chandler with Brown as a 6th man? Nice. Title: Day 2 Free Agency Results Post by: NetsGM on April 02, 2005, 08:03:49 PM BTW guys, I want to remind you of a few things.
Offers carry over to the following day. If you want offers cancelled, you MUST specify. If you want offers to stay the same, you don't need to pm me those offers. I need to be pm'd: - Of new/updated offers to players - Of cancelled offers to players Title: Day 2 Free Agency Results Post by: CavsGM on April 02, 2005, 08:22:40 PM Just to make sure - With the little cap room I have left(about 2.5 million), I can still offer multiple year contracts, right?
Title: Day 2 Free Agency Results Post by: NetsGM on April 02, 2005, 08:29:02 PM yup. it's only the mle and lle you can't offer multi year deals (and usually the minimum, it's complicated. basically, you usually can't raise it enough so that the 2nd year is above the minimum allowed by the league)
Title: Day 2 Free Agency Results Post by: RaptorsGM on April 02, 2005, 09:54:11 PM Frig.
There goes the 2 guys I was targetting. Title: Day 2 Free Agency Results Post by: MagicGM on April 02, 2005, 11:26:51 PM damn! Haywood has got to re-sign soon...
Title: Day 2 Free Agency Results Post by: RaptorsGM on April 03, 2005, 12:18:20 AM Well, I completely changed my bids for day 3. I HAVE to get a swingman.
Title: Day 2 Free Agency Results Post by: HornetsGM on April 03, 2005, 04:01:12 AM Puedo decir "mismanaged cap"
I was almost hoping that L wouldn't sign with me, but I've "shot my load" [in the parlance of our times (big lebowski)], anyways, L will be the shutdown sg of our league for a few yrs, so no worries... Title: Day 2 Free Agency Results Post by: HornetsGM on April 03, 2005, 03:00:17 PM great signing of Radman for the Warriors BTW. That is a nice contract to have him under.
BTW, were the Jazz just not paying attention or something? I though for sure they would offer Hughes a giant contract... There was no reason not to. Title: Day 2 Free Agency Results Post by: NetsGM on April 03, 2005, 03:17:38 PM Nope, jazz submitted an offer. it was just less than yours.
Title: Day 2 Free Agency Results Post by: KingsGM-old on April 03, 2005, 04:48:36 PM what's up with andre miller?

Title: Day 2 Free Agency Results Post by: RaptorsGM on April 03, 2005, 05:36:06 PM Day 3 should be very, very interesting for me.
Title: Day 2 Free Agency Results Post by: HornetsGM on April 03, 2005, 06:28:26 PM Quote from: NetsGM Nope, jazz submitted an offer. it was just less than yours. Well that's a bad move IMO; I mean, they will be over the cap forever basically, I don't see how having Hughes at the max hurts them. Thanks. I was worried when he did not sign a contract on the 1st day. That B+ outside and A- defense make him a perfect role player for me, and he is only 22 years old. Signing him to long term contract is OK, since I will never be under the cap again... lol |
