even it is just preseason and i had some injuries there were already some nice surprises:

Johnny Newcomb did a great job leading this team, showing me he could be a guy you can build around in the future. He avg. 19pts 9reb 2.2 ass 1.6 stls and 1.8 ass great stats
Battaile Massenburg seems to be far more skilled than i thought. in limited mins he avg. 6 pts and 1blk while shooting decent. he may have earn some PT during the regular season.
James Ostertag shot 59% from the field and 72% which is really great for a C.
Antonio Lenard still can score and even defend his opp. from time to time who would have thought that
Mark Aguirre can score without a doubt but still not sure if he can play with dwight and shultz. he may be better suited to give scoring of the bench.

I could actually pretend to be happy with this 10-5 Clipper team that is leading it's division. But I know better. Things will change in the regular season. But even for a preseason sim I find this a bit surprising.
We don't shoot any good percentages, we don't rebound too much, we don't pass all that well and blocking a shot is something we never heard of. My starting C is by far the worst starter I ever had in SSBA. :)
Somehow, our opponents did worse! :) They must have really been trying out a couple of strange lineups.

As a PG, Dell Curry turns out to be a pretty good scorer. Tobey seemed to like the 4 just fine. Jose Outlaw was a little disappointing as a starter. Cliff was OK at the 3. Team defence was OK, but nothing special.

Kenny Walker will get his chance to start in the second sim, and he better be pretty good - cause Bias sure was. Will see what Cliffy can do at the four too, and what the hell, what Bradley can do at the point.

Yowsa.  Ralph Sampson with 30.4 ppg, 11.5 rpg, 2.5 apg, 1.1 bpg on 48% shooting.  He's 2nd in the league in scoring, first in free throws free throw attempts, 10th in rebounding.

Munson was a nice compilment.  17.1 ppg, 10.4 rpg, 3.1 bpg as a 3rd option.  His FG% wasn't that great, but I expect that to improve.  I love his free throw shooting.    he averaged 8.4 attempts per game and made 80.9% of them.  Sampson and Munson combined for 47.5 ppg, 21.9 rpg, 4.5 bpg and 19.3 free throw attempts.  They're going to be a hard matchup.

Blackman played well.  He's kinda been relegated to a role player now that he's no longer the top option, so I'm not expecting him to score 24 ppg like he did a few seasons back.  But if he can score efficiently, play good defense, and not make mistakes, that's plenty with this lineup.  He gave me 15.2 ppg, grabbed some boards (5.1 per game), caused some turnovers (1.7 per game), and shot efficiently (46% from the field, 41.3% from 3.

Brice the same thing.  He's a non-option at this point, so I'm not expecting the 17/10 I got from him a few years back.  12.5 and 9.4, with 3.1 steals and only 2.2 turnovers fits my needs well.

Excited to see how this team does in the regular season.

John Salley with a really nice sim (14.1 ppg, 7.9 rpg, 1.1 steals, 1.6 blocks in under 30 minutes).

Bilas was nice, but with C+ defense, I'd hope for more offensively.

Pearl Washington with 14.5 ppg, 8.4 rpg, and 2.5 spg from the 10th pick.

Dell Curry looked like a real nice scorer. Scott Skiles too.

Horny looks like he can pass the ball well (7.3 assists), but looks to have a little isiah in him (4.1 turnovers)

I'd give it more than 1 preseason sim.  IMO the move from your end was more the belief that Manute will be contributing for 8+ years, whereas ralph is a huge unknown.

Besides, Ralf just fits my team better.  I think Munson is so much of a better fit than Barkley would have.  Sampson can now be the #1 undisputed option, there's no other inside threat, Munson provides excellent floor spacing, and my guards (Blackman and Brice) are both shooters.

Having Munson with his shotblocking and floor shooting IMO are key.  I'm interested to see how this team does.

Wow.. My boy Matthew Hobson is averaging 15ppg 11rpg and 1.6bpg for the Warriors.. Damn.. Im going to sign him the Max next year.. MUHAHA!

Actually, not at all. If I went 10-3 and Ralph was at 20 ppg. I wouldn't sweat it at all. But since I went 7-6, with a marginal ppg differential, Ralph's performance does sting a bit.

7-6. Very inconsistent offensively and defensively. Magic's numbers are down, so are George's, Mike's are way up. Getting next to nothing from my bigs. Thought the DC was good but I guess not. Going with a CPU recommended lineup next sim to see if that may find something that works.

Love Munson's defense as well, it wasn't just shotblocking.  he held his opponent to 38.2% shooting and 1.07 points per shot.

Pressley played well defensively as well, holding his man to 1.15 points per shot.  I would like a little more production offensively, even though he wasn't an option, but that's probably something that's going to take a good TC or two to happen.  For a 20 year old with B potential, I definitely like the defense played.

Wow... 2 huge suprises for this test lineup...

One, is that Lester Connor is a stud point guard.
15 ppg, 6.4 rpg, 8.9 apg, 2.4 spg, with only 2.5 topg.
All this, on 45% from the field, and 44% from three point land.
Incredible all around play from Barton's future replacement.

And, my MLE pickup. Matthew Hobson...
15 ppg, 11.2 rpg , 1.4 spg, 1.6 bpg, and only 1.1 topg.
Terrible shooting percentage (41%), but that has never been his strong suit...

This team might have a future ABC (After Barton Connell)
Just a horrendous shooting percentage from Don this sim, though, that really hurt the teams overall performance.

Hopefully, that will help you sleep at night

I found out two things, Craigh Ehlo can score efficiently in my offense which is good, and the second is that Scott Skiles will most likely never be a PG.  Starting PG he only averaged 3.2 assists.  Maybe he will end up being my poor man's version of Kyle Macy.  He definitely isn't going to be my future PG, unless next TC provides something different.

More of the same for the Bucks: Mehta at the top of rebounds/blocks.  Gragg at the top of assists and turnovers.

Nice to see Gragg put up about 25/5/11/2.7 to get player of the month.  His inside scoring and steals increased in the training camp.  He could be a beast this year.

In 13 games, my starting PF grabbed double digit rebounds twice, and  my starting C six times. Ugh.

FYI . that was against Billy Rice (C defender - SF by trade) and Scott Provost (B- defender - PG by trade)

But scoring that many is tough to do, nonetheless.

would you want a guy who can score 73 think about defense even for one second in a game ?
me neither ...

btw, those 73 came on "just" 40 shots - plus 13 of 13 FTs. I doubt more than 3 guys in this league ever put up 40 shots in a game.
(in an earlier Sonics matchup he scored 33 on 33 shots - with just 2 FTs - against the very same defenders)

You not going to score 73 points without that many attempts.  Find me a guy that score 70 in under 40 shots.  BTW, he did played some D, with his 5 steals.

73 points with 40 shots is AWESOME. Even when you don't count FT's it's 60 on 40 shots. That number is right there with the best of them

(according to aTom Stats Inc Keogan compares favourable with some of the greatest scorers in SSBA:

Garrett Pettit in 2013: 24.6 shots per game, 32.3 ppg, 1.31 pts per shot)
Yao Ming in 2008: 21.9 spg, 30.8 ppg, 1.40 pps
Dwight Howard in 2020: 25.7 spg, 34.3 ppg, 1.34 pps

Keogan this season is at  26.2 spg, 36.9 ppg, 1.41 pps
his previous best came in 2021: 21.6 spg, 28.6 ppg, 1.32 pps)

:-)
