Title: Sim 1 Preview and Discussion
Post by: RaptorsGM on December 11, 2007, 08:29:51 PM
I miss the old SSBA heydays where we had sim preview threads. I don't remember the preseason format (how many days). Someone fill me in so i can get even more excitied.

Can't wait to see what the new look Ransey can do, and Pryz is exciting to see too. Horny will start too and we'll see if he can be Ransey's eventual replacement.

I'm waiting to see how Tarpley does at Centre.

I have worries he is too light to play there but we shall see.

Allen Coles has come back from obscurity after the wierdest training camp ever for a 26 year old with C potential!

Phil Ford is also intruiging with his B+ inside scoring at the PG position...

Can't wait to see how my 317lbs second rounder, Joseph "HUGE" Hughes do this preseason. :D

I think we sim something like 20 days, I am excited to see Craig Ehlo, hopefully he can emerge as a 2nd option for me.  I am equally excited to see how Scott Skiles does distributing the ball, he could possibly be my future PG, hopefully his A/TO ratio is at least average now, so I won't have to continuously be looking for a young PG.

I am really excited to get some simming underway here, I am going through SSBA stat withdrawl. I had the most uneventful offseason of my SSBA life (22nd pick of the 2nd round, no cap room) and its killing me lol.

I am curious to know how much more potent Magic is on the offensive side of the ball with an extra OUT grade, ditto with George Johnson - I really hope he produces more than the end of last season.

Very curious to see what Kleine is like starting at C for me with his defensive upgrade, ditto with Borgmann. Its unfortunate the the other 2 guys from last year declined, and I have no offence from the inside, so we will see how this unfolds.

Nets are gonna use the preseason to see if Outlaw the guard can be a legit scoring option; if Outlaw the C+ C+ scoring C is interesting or just another guy; whether or not I have gems or lumps of coal in Walker and Curry; and see exactly how good Cliff Robinson is in couple of roles.

All experimentation, all the time.

FTR, I am gonna start paying much more attention to game play.

I'm hoping to see a more efficient and consistent offense, to go along with the best oFG%. Rebounding is my biggest concern.

Raptors play 13 games, should be a good test of what this lineup can do...here is what I'd be happy with

Pryz: 7ppg, 9rpg, 3bpg

Swift: 9ppg, 8.5rpg, 1.5bpg

Sanders: 12ppg, 6rpg

Ransey: 25ppg, 5rpg, 5apg

Horny: 15ppg, 3rpg, 8apg

My goals of this TC is to see how Steve Johnson does starting. Can he start at pf or or C? Should I bring Maggette off the bench to backup sf/pf/c or start him at pf?

I also want to see if my day 6 fa pickup Bellamy is good enough to play 15-20 mpg backing up at C or pf.

Lastly, I am setting up a battle of Lincoln Lord vs. Rob Williams for the starting pg spot. Lincoln Lord is still a top pg offensively but I am worried about his defense. If Williams plays well this preseason than that sets up a preseason battle of Lord vs. Chris Cho at the sg spot.
