Title: Trades have been run - from 2006 draft file
Post by: NetsGM on January 23, 2005, 11:04:55 AM
Alright guys, I've taken jem's file from day 1 of the 2006 file, and ran through all the trades, and I'm about to sim the season.  That way, if we elect to go this route, it's already done, and we can pick up from the free agent decisions immediately following the 2006 season.

Here's a summary of the trades I have and haven't run.

Ah...and Pietrus still wants a max deal.

Some things never change :)

Alright, the 2006 season has been resimmed, through the playoffs, and up until free agent decisions.

It's all available here:
http://ssba.phillyarena.net/end2006/

Keep in mind, that if we decide to do things this way, those stats are worthless.  It was just re-simmed so we could get to the point in the season to continue.  The official results are still the ones simmed by twan, even though players and teams past stats will be wrong for the 2006 season in the future.

One thing I did find interesting, how Giddens did for the pacers.  15.3 pts (rather than 22.3 when simmed by twan).  Rebounding from 5.3 to 3.7.  Dropped an assist/game.  A half a steal less and committed more turnovers.  shot 3% less from the field, 8% less from downtown.  Oh yeah, and the Sixers went 44-38.

Also, if you'll notice most of the draft file is the same.  The commish would have to add Jeremetrius Dean, and edit a handful or so players (mainly the top 5 picks).  But we'd have the choice of either re-running the draft or editing the players, and running the trades & picks to get us back to where we originally were in that draft.

congrats to the nets!

btw, did you use computer recommended dcs and strategy to run the season?

Everything's computer recommended.

Also, midseason trades were processed at the beginning of the year.

That's why I say it's not official.  It's just to move us forward to where we should be.

ok, looks good for the most part.
I noticed that I don't have a couple of players from before, Mobius Cervi and Javier Morgan, who came over from my trade with the suns and my trade with the hawks respectively. This is nit picky type stuff that I can ignore if were gonna get this thing moving.

Anything wrong like that (some of the trades didn't go through, so I had to ad lib with some of the minimum salaried expiring deal players.  Any of these players the commish can manually add to teams if they're a concern.

I was looking at my roster page and I have around 11 million in cut salaries, I was wondering where that came from cause I didn' cut anyone of that salary...

Haha, oh man, the computer cracks me up.

With me as GM, I make the ECF's with second best record. With computer, we miss the playoffs, have Darko playing C, as apposed to SF for me, have Bradley startin at SF, and have Ratliff not play.

Thank God I didn't ask for my setting to be computer generated last year. I thought about it.

2nd best record in the league? :D

Damn! The nets beats me once again in the play-offs.

Nice work, Dabods! Looks like we have a promising sim league ahead of us.

Aye...the computer must have made the decision to cut someone.  I'll re-do the year, taking control of all the teams myself to make sure that doesn't happen.

Ok, so, if we decide to start again after the 06 season, then these are the stats we're going with?

'Cause this has some serious impact on me. I reisned Darko, but he didn't get as many minutes here, so maybe he won't want to resign again.

Oh well, I don't really care. I just want SSBA to be back where it was.

Well, it will be re-run.  These won't be official stats, just placeholders.

As for re-signings, I'll compare what players were re-signed.  Any players who were re-signed but don't offer contracts for this time, I'll manually enter in those contracts.

So you won't lose anyone whom you had re-signed.

Also, I've been saving archived copies of the save files after each change I make, so I don't have to process all the trades again (thank god)

So, you would re-run it, but do it all at once? So let teams set their d/c's and settings, then run the whole season?

No, I wouldn't have teams set their DC's and settings.  These stats aren't the official stats.  This option is just to get our rosters to the point where they were when Twan stopped.

The stats are irrelevant.

A players development is not affected by playing time, no.  Sadly.
