Thompson and Buck back at home.
Title: Re: FA day 1 (the PG parade) Post by: MagicGM on December 05, 2007, 02:30:10 AM intertesting. I sent a much better offer for both Raul and Greg Kite, and both turned them down. lol
Title: Re: FA day 1 (the PG parade) Post by: CelticsGM on December 05, 2007, 03:34:33 AM Interesting.
the CPU controlled Kings did sign nothing but let their top 3 free agents bolt for nothing. Amazing they couldn't even top two MLEs and one LLE ... :bash: Title: Re: FA day 1 (the PG parade) Post by: CelticsGM on December 05, 2007, 03:36:11 AM as for my Celtics, I'm very happy signing a 20+ppg veteran (kind of), which brings all kind of (good) Lenard memories back to beantown.
:D Title: Re: FA day 1 (the PG parade) Post by: NetsGM on December 05, 2007, 05:34:44 AM Very good day for the Nets.
Happy to have Turkoglu and his shotblocking back. This guy averaged over 3 with pt in the preseason. He should be able to find a few minutes here and there now, and if not, is signed on the cheap and at least having his bird rights helps. Glad that Travis Arizin re-signed. He played a very passable backup pg for me last year, and will have these duties again - at a minimum. Really like Outlaw signing. This guy has improved by leaps and bounds in his two years in the league (+6 or something like that) with improving production, he has good size, and looks ready to really contribute. I would have preferred to offer on him on day two to get more of a crack at some vet FA's who are still on the board, but didn't really want to pass up on the chance. Makes my off-season pretty much done. Even adults can't READ anymore ...
:lol2: anyway, what about the Kings. don't tell me you forgot to put them on cpu control ... or bid by commitee. Title: Re: FA day 1 (the PG parade) Post by: PacersGM on December 05, 2007, 08:24:04 AM yeah, that explains why we have those horrendous PISA survey results. Title: Re: FA day 1 (the PG parade) Post by: WizardsGM on December 05, 2007, 09:50:15 AM Well a good and bad day for the Nuggets. Glad to have Lavar locked up on the cheap for the next 3 years. My goal was to have a PG and PF sign with MLE and LLE respectively, but unfortunately I had 2 PGs accept those offers. Now I am stuck with only the minimum.
Title: Re: FA day 1 (the PG parade) Post by: HawksGM on December 05, 2007, 10:12:14 AM welcome back Joseph Gomes, if he can give me another good season, it will give my young PG's another TC to develop, while still hopefully remaining competitive with virtually the same team, minus Ron Brewer, if Shabby re-signs.
Title: Re: FA day 1 (the PG parade) Post by: BlazersGM on December 05, 2007, 10:40:19 AM damn. My only bid was for Buck, it wouldve been nice to pair him with Hakeem.
What should i do with money now ? Title: Re: FA day 1 (the PG parade) Post by: NetsGM on December 05, 2007, 11:51:54 AM Would I be correct in assuming that Johnny Dawkins being listed among FA's is just a simming mistake since he was only drafted a couple of days ago? Or did I miss something? Or is TWolves being punished for something I don't know about?
Title: Re: FA day 1 (the PG parade) Post by: CelticsGM on December 05, 2007, 12:03:27 PM as we know the CPU is plain stupid, but that's unheard of, cutting a #15 pick after the draft and carrying his salary for the next 4 seasons, with lots of open roster spots and 2nd round stiffs to cut.
... 2023 180 Timberwolves Cut PG Johnny Dawkins ... http://rosters.ssbabasketball.com/transactions.htm man, first killing the Kings - doing a worse job than Ivan at that - and now this !!! :bash: :bash: :bash: :bash: :bash: :bash: Title: Re: FA day 1 (the PG parade) Post by: CavsGM on December 05, 2007, 12:09:42 PM I'm glad I got Kellogg, even though I overpaid a bit. But I knew that I wouldn't get Buck or Thompson so I wanted to make sure that I would get the next best player available, which was Clark.

They recently cut Levi Davis (http://forums.ssbabasketball.com/index.php?topic=7558.0), Nickolas Majerle (http://forums.ssbabasketball.com/index.php?topic=7557.0), and Jorge MacCulloch (http://forums.ssbabasketball.com/index.php?topic=7556.0). Looks like the commish just made a mistake, one which will be corrected this sim. Johnny Dawkins is NOT a free agent. Title: Re: FA day 1 (the PG parade) Post by: CelticsGM on December 05, 2007, 12:19:46 PM hahaha, now that explains a lot.
Sorry but I forgot they got a new GM again ! Title: Re: FA day 1 (the PG parade) Post by: NetsGM on December 05, 2007, 02:09:11 PM Wolves are currently managing their team. So what I hear you saying is that my assumption is correct and I should never pay attention to anything Tom says? They recently cut Levi Davis (http://forums.ssbabasketball.com/index.php?topic=7558.0), Nickolas Majerle (http://forums.ssbabasketball.com/index.php?topic=7557.0), and Jorge MacCulloch (http://forums.ssbabasketball.com/index.php?topic=7556.0). Title: Re: FA day 1 (the PG parade) Post by: ClippersGM-old on December 05, 2007, 02:24:47 PM Glad LaSalle Thompson is back in town. I missed him with the re-signings. He offered a contract but I was late. So now we can keep rebuilding this Clipper team. Looks like things are going into the right direction.
Title: Re: FA day 1 (the PG parade) Post by: MavsGM on December 05, 2007, 03:41:26 PM We going to miss Shaun Dampier, was thinking starting him at PG but he turned down 27mil for MLE. Glad to get Greg Kite with the MLE, he told me it was his dream to play for the Mavs, his hometown team.
Title: Re: FA day 1 (the PG parade) Post by: PacersGM on December 05, 2007, 04:30:19 PM Wolves are currently managing their team. right i cut the wrong guy. sorry wolves my week is pretty awful right now and i really need some sleep. dawkins will be back next sim and to compensate for the cut sal he will be listed at $1 per year for the wolves. If this guy ever will be traded the full sal will come back. Title: Re: FA day 1 (the PG parade) Post by: CelticsGM on December 05, 2007, 05:09:43 PM you can edit that in FBB if you want to
Title: Re: FA day 1 (the PG parade) Post by: Str8westcoasta on December 05, 2007, 05:11:20 PM I'm happy with Phil Ford with the MLE... He can score inside and has reasonabkle handles, could be a real x-factor in the team... who knows
Raul Stoudamire is a bit of a reach, TC could make him an absolute waste of space or a decent big man... time will tell. Steal of the draft: Mavs getting Greg Kite for the MLE... He's is going to be awesome... can't believe Hornets didn't want him back Title: Re: FA day 1 (the PG parade) Post by: NetsGM on December 05, 2007, 05:13:35 PM you can edit that in FBB if you want to But you can't edit the "cut salary" portion, can you? I.e. if he puts Dawkins back as his original salary, the hit on the Wolves would actually be twice his salary (once for the cut salary, once for his current salary). Title: Re: FA day 1 (the PG parade) Post by: HornetsGM on December 05, 2007, 05:17:16 PM Steal of the draft: Mavs getting Greg Kite for the MLE... He's is going to be awesome... can't believe Hornets didn't want him back I offered him $5.4 million for 1 year. Very, very thrilled in raptor land....got Buck back long-term and got a shot blocker to place beside him...I want to see just what Pryz can do in pre season before I decide if he or Swift will start. But I know have long term starters at every positon, so I can't complain Title: Re: FA day 1 (the PG parade) Post by: WizardsGM on December 05, 2007, 06:52:49 PM But you can't edit the "cut salary" portion, can you? I'm still the smallest team in SSBA. Good thing Mehta plays like he's 8 feet tall.
I went over the hard cap, but that was bound to happen til Devin retires. Guess i'll be taking one more crack at the East. Title: Re: FA day 1 (the PG parade) Post by: HeatGM on December 05, 2007, 07:48:50 PM come on Sleepy Floyd...i hope ivan has taught you some tricks... :D
