Title: Sim 12 done Post by: PacersGM on November 19, 2007, 04:31:49 AM well 2 teams with plus 60 win season, kings made the POs  and my first round matchup will be pistons.
And finally my team can win some honors. Dwight and Shultz with multiple honors.... great Title: Re: Sim 12 done Post by: PacersGM on November 19, 2007, 04:37:04 AM Some Information for the POs:
DC has to be send to me through pm. I will send mine always to bods. each round will be seperated into 2 parts simmed within 24 hours. Part 1 will be the first 3 games. You can make adjustments after the sim by sending me a new DC. Part 2 will be the rest neccessary to finish the round. Title: Re: Sim 12 done Post by: MagicGM on November 19, 2007, 04:37:48 AM looks like the brothers are going to battle it on in the lottery.
Title: Re: Sim 12 done Post by: NetsGM on November 19, 2007, 05:21:18 AM Ugh. What a disgusting, toilet water way to end a season. 2-3 sim, three losses by a total of 7 points. Not a nice way to cap off what was a promising second half of the season (28-13) - especially when a good handful of those losses were so close and the Atlantic lead was so close. The worst bit is that I have to congratulate Tom on a good season and division crown....so congrats.
Pretty satisfied with individual seasons from most of my guys....early season injuries put some guys in roles I didn't them being in, and there was an adjustment curve there. Woot was just a couple of points and reb's and % points away from giving me right what I hoped he would. Marcus gave me quite the spark off the bench, and who knows what our 1st half/injured-Milner record would have been without him - much worse than .500 I think. Johnny Contract was pretty solid. Hubbard gave me solid production and %'s. Schmalz, whose TC's suggest decline, experienced no such thing - in fact having his most efficient season as a Net in the fewest minutes. Milner was superb down the stretch. Not looking forward to Bucks in the first round and big Rex with all his D, though based on the last NJ-MIL game, it should be fun to watch him and Schmalzy go hard at each other. The PG matchup should be a great one, as will Hubbard v. Natt. The boys will need to find a way to bone up defensively. Good luck to you Bucks; enjoy the home-court advantage. Title: Re: Sim 12 done Post by: SonicsGM on November 19, 2007, 05:57:43 AM Quincy Peters makes All-SSBA First Team for the fourth time..congrats to him
Title: Re: Sim 12 done Post by: WizardsGM on November 19, 2007, 06:33:16 AM Ugh just so many bad things. It certainly did come down to the very last day, and not only did the Jazz beat me to tie our records and give them the tie breaker - but they injured Borgmann along the way and he is out for the first 7 days of the 1st round. To be brutally honest I will be hard pressed to win without him. I play a pretty good Spurs team with no injuries, the only positive being my home court advantage.
Magic on 2nd team, and Evans on 3rd team - my cogs certainly deserved it. Title: Re: Sim 12 done Post by: NetsGM on November 19, 2007, 08:04:09 AM Charles Barkley with all league 2nd team, and all defensive 2nd team. Team went 4-3 to end the year, and wasn't able to catch the Hawks. I was hoping to avoid the Pacers in the first round, but oh well. Rolando seemed to return to his previous self the last 2-3 sims of the season. Now I just gotta figure out my lineup....
Title: Re: Sim 12 done Post by: HeatGM on November 19, 2007, 08:12:54 AM hornets will own me... on the good side.. MJ on his first all league first team and all league 2nd defensive team...eric wu all league 3rd team...and corzine an all league first defensive team... im just one point guard away from being a good team....
Title: Re: Sim 12 done Post by: CelticsGM on November 19, 2007, 08:26:11 AM Surprisingly I can still win games without Tyler ... and some old stiffs or waiver pickups logging major minutes.
Finished with a 4-2 sim, once again beating the Heat on the road, and losing to the Grizzlies (their 21 game win streak DID end in Boston, just not exactly how i had hoped) and Lakers. Easily held off the Nets for the Atlantic Division crown ... and that's just about what I think is the max I can achieve this season. Shane Wedge making All Defensive 1st team ... a joke, a pure joke. Celtics with 4th best record in the league, but of course no more accolades, we're used to it. Congrats to MVP Dwight. He's truly earned that one, cause the Pacers might have had a hard time making the playoffs without him. Next up: Hawks. Could get interesting without Tyler. other series: Heat vs Hornets could be ugly. Hope the Heat see that their decline began with Newton coming in (maybe a 7/4 A/TO-ratio is NOT good after all) and give day 27 a really good look ... (hint, hint) Pacers vs Pistons. Even with LBJ staring this is a wash. Bucks vs. Nets. This is what this game is all about. Could end 4-0, 0-4 or anywhere inbetween. My moneY's on the Nets who will find a way to keep the Bucks from scoring. Warriors, Grizz, Jazz and Nuggets should make it in the West. 8) Title: Re: Sim 12 done Post by: WizardsGM on November 19, 2007, 08:41:59 AM Giving me a win even with the Borgmann injury? hmmm
Title: Re: Sim 12 done Post by: CelticsGM on November 19, 2007, 08:50:44 AM yes, Cunningham/Zollner will do it.
Title: Re: Sim 12 done Post by: PacersGM on November 19, 2007, 09:16:46 AM bucks nets should be fun to watch. really hope nets will advance because bucks have played my team really well this season.
not that pistons will be easy. they have almost identical team stats in all important cats. only in points scored i have a big advantage. hope i can keep that in the POs. celtics should advance over hawks, hornets as well over heat. in the west warriors should have an easy win over kings, i agree nuggets, jazz and grizz should be favorite in their matchups as well. Title: Re: Sim 12 done Post by: HawksGM on November 19, 2007, 10:08:41 AM I'm pretty sure it will be a 4 or 5 game, easy series for the Celts. I'm making a couple changes, but I don't like our match-ups against them. Unless we can make a few alterations to take advantage of the loss of Tyler.
Title: Re: Sim 12 done Post by: RaptorsGM on November 19, 2007, 12:17:57 PM Ouch, finally this ugly season is over. It was certainly a rebuilding season...no major awards at the end of the year, no playoffs, a trade I may regret (Schader for what is now the 7th pick), and an ugly 1-7 sim to finish things off...
Scored 86.1ppg and gave up 97.1. Terrible. Clearly the success I had sim 10 playing a very slow pace did not carry over to the last 2 sims...good to know. Swift @ C = 10.3ppg, 10.1rpg, 1.4bpg --A lovely season from the 34 year old Swift, who was exceptionally consistent as our starter after the Ransey trade. It's reassuring to know that Swift will likely be able to start and put up his consistent 9.5/9.5/1.3 next year. Buck @ PF = 23.4ppg, 14.1rpg, 1.4spg, 1.4bpg --A fantastic finish to the season for Buck who had to carry most of the offense this sim with Ransey out 3 and Mike out 1. I don't expect anything more out of Buck next year...if he could post 20/12/1/1 next year we will certainly not be a 31 win team. Dailey @ SF (1 game) = 10ppg, 5rpg, 3apg, 3spg --Dailey was incredible when starting in Mike's place...I will be looking to sign him again and hope he has a good TC. Mike @ SF (7 games) = 16.6ppg, 8.9rpg, 0.5spg, 1.1bpg --A positional change shows me that Mike will likely be my SF for a few years to come..depending on how the draft goes. Not a great sim statistically for Mike, but he was coming back after an injury, and certainly 17/9 is nothing to spit about. I'm excitied for Mike's future with the Raps. Schader @ SG = 10.1ppg, 2rpg, 3apg, 3spg --Much like Buck and Mike, Schader is a long term fixture at SG. It's great to have an inclusion in the lineup that is all about defense, as I have said before I believe a Championship team needs this. I think if Buck/Mike/Ransey are my big 3 next year, and I have Schader and my draft pick focusing on defense/rebounding/sharing the ball we could have a very good year. Hiscock @ PG (3 games) = 5.7ppg, 3.3rpg, 7apg, 3.3spg --He'll likely be the primary backup to Ransey again next year unless he has another tremendous TC like last year. He's a great ball stealer already, so any improvement in defense can be attributed to his man D. Ransey @ PG (5 games) = 14.6ppg, 2.6rpg, 9.4apg, 1.8spg --Not the sim I was hoping for from Ransey...his assists are still excellent but his scoring was way down on the very slow pace...hopefully TC will give me time to fiddle with the settings and find the best for Ransey. Overall, I'm excitied about the future of my team. I have 3 legit options at PF/SF/PG and a long term starter at SG...and all 4 are 24,27,27 and 27 respec. I have a pick in the draft that is currently T6th...And there are about 8 guys that I see coming in and starting for me as I have alot o fflexibility in the lineup...I can draft any position as I can move my 4 starters anywhere. We'll see what happens. Good luck to the playoff teams. Title: Re: Sim 12 done Post by: BucksGM on November 19, 2007, 01:19:10 PM 5-2 finish, held on to home court. Hopefully that makes the difference against the Nets.
Mehta with his 3rd Defensive Player of the Year in a row (4 total) and 7th 1st Team All SSBA in the last 8 years (he settled for a 2nd Team one year). Was the last player of the week with a 14/16/14 block game. I was hoping Gragg would get on a team with his 21/4/11.5 average and 46% shooting but the 5 turnovers were too much apparently. Title: Re: Sim 12 done Post by: BlazersGM on November 19, 2007, 03:14:44 PM Nice, Hakeem finished again as a league leading scorer, won All-League 2nd Team, sweet. Hopefully hell improve his shotblocking like in real life and be a true monster.
And Porter made All-Rookie 2nd, ridicolous tough. 15,4mpg 3,9ppg 1,9rpg 2,5apg LOL. Title: Re: Sim 12 done Post by: GoldenStateGM on November 19, 2007, 03:57:04 PM Well, nice way to end the season, going 7-1, and Barton winning the final Player of the Month Award. The 2nd Pacific Division title, and homecourt in the playoffs through the Western Conference.
Congratulations to Bennet Fuqua, a very, very deserving 6th man of the year. No other Warriors received any awards this year. Kings may be the worst team for the Warriors to play, since we split the season series with them, 2-2. Title: Re: Sim 12 done Post by: CelticsGM on November 19, 2007, 04:50:51 PM Mehta with his 3rd Defensive Player of the Year in a row (4 total) and 7th 1st Team All SSBA in the last 8 years (he settled for a 2nd Team one year). Was the last player of the week with a 14/16/14 block game.   who was the poor fellow Mehta got 14 blocks against ... oh, Patrick Ewing. Equally stunning is the fact Ewing tried to shoot 37 (THIRTYSEVEN) time against the defensive player of the year (converted 12 for 30 pts). I don't know if you have to have zero game intelligence or no brain at all to act like that (there is a certain species of wasps that show a similar behaviour like Ewing. Once they start a task they are unable to stop the action until it's completed, even if the surrounding conditions changed and there's absolutely no chance to suceed when proceeding. Interesting comparison ...) :bash: Title: Re: Sim 12 done Post by: HornetsGM on November 19, 2007, 06:13:39 PM That's one thing that bugs me about FBB -- I'd like the ability to micro-coach my team a bit more.
Title: Re: Sim 12 done Post by: NetsGM on November 19, 2007, 06:52:52 PM It'll be nice if the new version of fbb ever comes to fruition.
Title: Re: Sim 12 done Post by: CelticsGM on November 19, 2007, 07:00:06 PM That's one thing that bugs me about FBB -- I'd like the ability to micro-coach my team a bit more. that's not a problem for FBB. It DOES have the option to coach a team, make substitutions, change game settings within the game. But you can't run a sim league that way. Well, maybe the finals, hmmmmmmmmm ... :-) Title: Re: Sim 12 done Post by: NetsGM on November 19, 2007, 07:17:38 PM Well, nice way to end the season, going 7-1, and Barton winning the final Player of the Month Award. The 2nd Pacific Division title, and homecourt in the playoffs through the Western Conference. That is good news, last year when that McCormick guy got it, he got shafted - or as we say in RBSL - "Causwelled".Congratulations to Bennet Fuqua, a very, very deserving 6th man of the year. No other Warriors received any awards this year. Kings may be the worst team for the Warriors to play, since we split the season series with them, 2-2. Well, then I hope so too. Richard Milner is pasting this "quote" on the locker room wall as we speak.not that pistons will be easy. they have almost identical team stats in all important cats. Title: Re: Sim 12 done Post by: CelticsGM on November 19, 2007, 07:42:47 PM As far as I remember, "pasting quotes" doesn't win you a series.
;-) Title: Re: Sim 12 done Post by: RaptorsGM on November 19, 2007, 08:03:29 PM It'll be nice if the new version of fbb ever comes to fruition. Wow, thats the first I've heard of a prospective new version...I thought heavyreign disappeared Title: Re: Sim 12 done Post by: BucksGM on November 19, 2007, 09:55:51 PM Quote Well, then I hope so too. Richard Milner is pasting this "quote" on the locker room wall as we speak. Well I did account for 20% of the Pacers' losses by winning 3 of 4. Besides, it's not like playing the Hornets is much better than the Pacers in Round 2. And the Nets had a really good 2nd half. Title: Re: Sim 12 done Post by: NetsGM on November 20, 2007, 05:17:31 AM I know, I know....but the "Milner Nets" did OK against the Pacers two, accounting for 12.5% of their losses.
I'm making all of these references to Milner being motivated because, obviously, he's the heart and soul of the Nets - without him (pro-rating our win % without him), we would have missed the playoffs - and in fact are quite terrible. But, with him....we're not far off the best teams of the East, which are the best teams in the league. So, when someone says they look forward to playing us/him, when he leads the team to a near .700 winning percentage....he gets a little fired up. For the record, we went 3-2 in our "Milner games" against the Elite East teams (the four teams that ended up ahead of us). The unfortunate thing is that we we only played the 5 games against the Elite (of 15) with him in the lineup and got slaughtered the rest of the time (1-9) - so I don't really have a sense of how we stack up against the best, and have NO idea how we stack up against the Hornets/Celts since both season series were finished before game 51. I'm perseverating on this abit, I know, but Milner/Schmalz are getting up there, so my window of opportunity is now, next year...maybe the next one, and I really wanted to enjoy butting heads with the best this year to see where we stand. I thought we had a great crack at winning the division and home court advantage for a bit, too. Which of course, makes all my yammering moot if we got booted in the first round in MIL. Title: Re: Sim 12 done Post by: Str8westcoasta on November 20, 2007, 11:48:05 AM It'll be nice if the new version of fbb ever comes to fruition. Take our money and run, I bought it and I need new codes for my league, took forever to get. Fortunately, someone cracked the game instead! Title: Re: Sim 12 done Post by: WizardsGM on November 20, 2007, 01:24:28 PM I have a patch for the old version, didnt pay a cent.
Title: Re: Sim 12 done Post by: NetsGM on November 20, 2007, 01:51:14 PM Well, I actually paid. but i used up my 3 licenses (desktop, laptop, then one for hornets I believe). I then switched to linux, installed windows xp in a vmware virtual machine, and when I installed, I was going to have to pay for the game a second time (even though I was only currently actively using 1 of the 3 licenses). I said F that, so I wrote a registry hack to get by it.
