Title: sim 10 up
Post by: PacersGM on November 14, 2007, 04:57:56 AM
not a bad sim and another OT game against hornets. man i hope someone can take care of them in the POs otherwise it would be a long matchup between them and us.

guess this was a sim I escaped with some slight bruises.

just 2-4 after another starter went down injured, but also just 2-2 with everyone back. Beat the Heat in a huge road game for the Atlantic crown, and thanks to the Nets losing twice at home I could keep them at bay for now. The lead now is 2.1 games (2 games and the season series i took), while the Heat are already 6 games back.

Too bad I lost to the Pacers in overtime. My #1 scorer Wedge fouled out against Howard in 22 minutes and despite Purvis Short having lots of fun with LeBron and Aguirre getting 29/6 on 12-19 shooting it wasn't enough.

Guess a few more moves need to be made ...

2-6 sim for me

Beat the Lakers and the Blazers.

Apart from that the majority of our losses were by the odd point.

If I don't make the playoffs next year, my 5 year plan will officially become 6... lol

Nice showdown between the two ROY contenders this season. Ewing got the better end with his team winning and a 38pts 15rbs 2stls 2rebs performance against The Mailman's 22pts 8 rebs and 7assts performance.

Curt Thurmond's impersonification of AK 47 with his 6 blocks performance.

The Midwest still has 5 teams within 3 games of the division crown down the stretch, and thanks to a 5-1 sim, the Nuggets have moved within 1 game (2 in the loss column). 2 of the 3 teams ahead of us, Mavs and Spurs, have played more games than we have.

The George Johnson era started with a mixed bag of tricks. Yes, the team went 5-1 losing to the Western leading Warriors, but we didnt exactly show a lot of offensive consistency. Despite making George 3rd option, the boys didnt show him the rock much, but maybe that is due to getting him acclimated slowly? I will give it another sim before I tinker with anything, 6 games is too small of a sample size. He sure made an impact defensively though. One troubling trend lately has been the decrease in blocks from my big men.

Stats:

C - Kareem
28.8min, 10.3pts, 7.3reb, 1.0ast, 0.8stl, 1.5blk, 43.3%fg

PF - Borgmann
30.2min, 12.0pts, 10.7reb, 1.5ast, 0.7stl, 0.8blk, 41.2%fg

SF - George Johnson
32.0min, 8.5pts, 5.5reb, 1.3ast, 1.2stl, 1.5blk, 45.2%fg, 40%3pt

SG - Magic
37.8min, 25.0pts, 7.7reb, 3.8ast, 1.8stl, 3.2to, 41.7%fg

PG - Evans
39.3min, 13.0pts, 4.0reb, 9.3ast, 2.3stl, 3.0to, 45.1%fg

sub1 - Zollner
21.8min, 7.3pts, 6.2reb, 0.2ast, 0.7stl, 1.7blk, 40.5%fg

sub2 - Xavier
16.3min, 5.7pts, 3.2reb, 1.7ast, 1.2stl, 1.2to, 41.9%fg

Hmmm, quite the dilemna and quite the emotional sim. Just two games back of the division lead now, and a couple of events that are real setbacks.
First, big time loss to the Nuggs. Their swarming defense held us to disgusting shooting in our first game with different settings. Too many TO's and 60% FT shooting. Lost by just 6 at home and -10 in the 4th quarter - quite the dagger.
Second, the big OT loss to the Jazz by two, at home again  :bash:. A game we should have won - easily: FTs and TO's were the problem....big let down games from Schmalzy (despite his 32/14, 12 missed FT's ) and Hubbard (20/12, 7 TO's).
Followed it up with a big home win against the Spurs, road win in GS, and home win against the Pistons (Manute Bol with the rare trip-doub with blocks). Huge game from Jon Koncak against Hakeem: held him to under 33% shooting, and missing his own tip-doub by two blocks when Schmalz struggle  :hail:
Tried going with Milner as a non-option: this negated his scoring effectiveness as his percentages were down - and though he did a great job finding his mates, I need some more scoring from him to make the offence really flow. Seemed like an interesting idea, but with Celts' rough sim, turns out it was a big, big mistake. Woot was really up and down - some great performances among a couple of stinkers. Dudley Bradley gave me exactly what I wanted - gotta love him.
Maybe the next DC tweak will be enough to pull ahead of the C's, though with no head-to-heads, it's gonna be tough. Should also be fun.

Great 8-1 sim, with a home loss to the Nets the only loss.

This team has really settled down, and they are playing really well as a group.
Bennet Fuqua has been incredible as my off the bench 3rd option. 21 ppg and 10 rpg in 28 mpg, at center and power forward.

Darren Rice had a great sim as well, scoring 10 ppg on 55% shooting, with 5 rpg, 2.7 spg, and only 0.7 topg.  No mistake, solid play, which is exactly what I need from him.

Lester Connor does not like the outside offense that the Warriors play, as his shooting percentage are way down.  But his 2.3 rpg and 3.1 apg, as well as his good defense, are keeping Barton from having to play too many minutes.

Adam Fortson came off the bench this sim (and started two games for Darren Rice) and averaged 6 ppg and 53% shooting, along with 4.6 rpg in 23 mpg.

11 days, 10 games coming up in this next sim.  Hope the team can stay strong.
Current 6 game lead in the Western Conference.
record seems to be inflated, though, because thePacfic division has only 1 team witha record over .500...  Let's go division, let's get back those winning ways :)

surprising 3-3 sim, I expected worse following George's departure.  We shot efficiently and the verteran Joseph Gomes carried this team.  Craig Ehlo needs to shoot more, but maybe that will come next season, if he wins a starting job over Brewer or Shabby.

Much better sim for the Raps, 3-2.

Scored 93.8ppg and gave up 92.8. Not where it needs to be, but that defense is lively and lovely.

Swift @ C = 9.8ppg, 12rpg, 0.8bpg

Buck @ PF = 16.6ppg, 11.4rpg, 0.8bpg

Mike @ SF = 26.2ppg, 9.8rpg, 1.8bpg

Schader @ SG = 13ppg, 2.6rpg, 3.2apg, 1spg

Ransey @ PG = 15ppg, 3.2rpg, 12.4apg, 1.4spg

--Loving the defense. And the fact that my 3 man starting frontcourt is averaging 33.2rpg alone. Mike has been incredible as a SF and now it looks as if he may maintain his status as a raptor for years to come.

Sort of. I had a really easy schedule. But I was losing tons of games with the same lineup before the win streak.
