Cut Alec Hickcox to make it work.

Stupid move.

Man, you deal with the Raptors and miss out on the one-time chance to play the Hiscock/Hickcox combo ...

as for the trade, not sure why the Blazers did it.

Schader was looking pretty much like a future star recently, especially on the defensive end, after years hidden on some bench ... and now he goes for a mediocre PG, a wannabe-future scorer a la Phelps (as in "no defense") and some lousy 1st ... and it costs them money on top !!!

easy to see why the Raptors did it (given the fact they gave almost nothing)

but i have a hard time believing this will help them as much as they believe. They have now Hiscock or Gola (Gola?) starting at PG, Ransey at SG (EVERYONE knows he can't play PG), and have to hope 6'6 King or 6'5 Schader can stand in as SF ... unless the force BuckWill to chase around kids at the perimeter and start Swift

Not sure what to make of this team now, but we know trev, this isn't the last deal this season ... and it better not be !

It was a tough move for the Raptors to make given that I really like Conner, and I think my first could be good (but shouldn't be). This gives me a 4th building block for my current and future starting lineup with Mike (27, A- defense), Buck (24, A- defense), Schader (27, A- defense), Ransey (27, B- defense). Approx 81.6 ppg between the 4 of them.

It's either going to be Swift/Mike/Buck/Schader/Ransey or Mike/Buck/Schader/Ransey/Hiscock. I'm thinking I'll start with the latter because it leaves me with Swift as a key backup along with Dailey and Gola.

I still have that Sonics pick to attempt to aquire that 5th piece of the puzzle - be it a SF or a PG. I think the pick could be decent after they lose Ransey.

I think Ransey is capable of putting up Isiah Thomas - type numbers at Pg, which could work...especially with Mike and Buck to pass to down low.

As for the trades, I might be done, in most people's eyes I'm out of tradeable options as I'm not willing to move one of the big 4 unless if gives me 2 very good, very legit starters. I'd be willing to discuss dealing the Sonics pick to someone but would have to recieve a pick in return. I'm probably done.

btw, you don't think you're going a bit too far here ?

You just aquired Schader AND $295 for a bunch of crap (in my eyes) and now you ask for "2 very good, very legit starters" for him ?

:lol2:

The 295 from the Blazers pays for part of the trade exception...and my pick is a current lotto pick.

And my quote says any of the big 4, not necc Schader.

oh, sorry, I was assuming Schader would be labeled one of the top 4, since i only see three otherwise: Buck, Gminski and (cough, cough) Ransey. Conner, Tripucka, and King have been dealt, Swift is a 34yr old 9/9 guy with a huge contract, Hiscock and Gola are, well, backups until proven otherwise ...

... and unless Dailey is something nobody expects him to be Schader is clearly you 4th best player now.

btw, it's even worse for the BLAZERS than i initially thought. They don't even get DAILEY (that no-D scorer) but a useless player they have to pay 3 more seasons. Ouch ...

Right, any of the big 4, not necc Schader. But including him. I don't know what you find so offensive in that statement.

not offensive, just amusing.

but actually i'm glad you're back and active, the league has missed that some in the last couple of seasons.
 :bounce:

(and i'm still sad you didn't rebuild the DJSL Heat the same way ... :-()

Ive traded Schader for one reason. He is Cohen Sanford of SSBA, and i cant stand another Cohen. So i just traded him away for 1st rounder, and we did split Trade Ex. tough, hell pay 100 back when he earns them. Lester looks decent, lets see how hell work in Portland.

Btw Tom, you still owe me few bucks as well, those off-season ones, remember ? hehehe.

schader was signed on day 153, so trade can?t be done before day 51.
