Title: preseason 2 done Post by: PacersGM on October 19, 2007, 03:20:05 AM really not bad for an undrafted guy. as expected he is more of a mercer clone. fantastic scorer but horrible distributer. lacked some scoring and had some foul troubles. with some minor changes this team should be fine.
Title: Re: preseason 2 done Post by: KingsGM-old on October 19, 2007, 05:09:46 AM The stupidity of this program is way beyond me.
Title: Re: preseason 2 done Post by: CelticsGM on October 19, 2007, 05:23:37 AM well, Orlando performed 100% as i told you. for every
http://rosters.ssbabasketball.com/boxes/3-1.html there were two http://rosters.ssbabasketball.com/boxes/7-8.html http://rosters.ssbabasketball.com/boxes/12-7.html that's what you can expect. Man, i love that pick ... ;-) Title: Re: preseason 2 done Post by: Str8westcoasta on October 19, 2007, 06:05:36 AM Had some laughs this sim. Phelps running the point in a fast paced offense lead to 5.4tpg, lol. Move back to SG Chuck...
Eschmeyer did ok backing him up though. Title: Re: preseason 2 done Post by: CelticsGM on October 19, 2007, 07:04:55 AM Man, i LOVE my team.
Who would have thought EVAN HUNT can fulfill the Mission Impossible and shut down King LBJ ? Who would have thought that we can stop the Pacers even twice, holding them to 88ppg. Who would have thought this makeshift lineup can beat the Nets, Raptors, Heat on top. Maybe Ivan believes these guys are crap, but I trust them any day over so-called superstars who don't get it done. And maybe, just maybe, I should have gone for the Orlando - Bird swap, look at this: http://rosters.ssbabasketball.com/boxes/19-5.html But on the other hand .... NAAAAAAHHHHHH ! :-) Title: Re: preseason 2 done Post by: WizardsGM on October 19, 2007, 07:40:52 AM So Xavier is going to be a turnover machine whether I make him an option or not, so I might as well make him one because I need the offence.
Record was one better at 7-7, but not where I expect it to be. Evans loved the very slow pace, dropping his turnovers from 4 to under 3. Magic was still at 3, but he was also bumped to first option. Borgmann was mediocre as a non option (14/8.6), but only played 29 minutes - I thought the very slowed pace would have helped him get more minutes, but maybe that will be a DC thing to fix. Zolner started and played well (8/9, 3blk). Kareem put up 10/7 with 2+ blocks off the bench in 28min. I would love to get Kleine more PT and even start him, but I cant afford another butter-fingered starter. Title: Re: preseason 2 done Post by: HeatGM on October 19, 2007, 07:45:22 AM am i really this good??? :lmao: i find this pre-season funny...im not expecting my team to be good...not for now..maybe nobody is playing their best lineup that's why :)
Title: Re: preseason 2 done Post by: KingsGM-old on October 19, 2007, 07:46:41 AM We should have a new slogan for SSBA as well.
"Where Amazing Amount Of Turnovers Happens". Title: Re: preseason 2 done Post by: WizardsGM on October 19, 2007, 08:02:22 AM We should have a new slogan for SSBA as well. "Where Amazing Amount Of Turnovers Happens". Well go figure, I changed my settings and offensive options and it really helped a number of guys. Its amazing what changing a DC around will do if somethings not working, you should try it sometime. Title: Re: preseason 2 done Post by: KingsGM-old on October 19, 2007, 08:05:26 AM The only thing that's amazing is your justifications for all the crappy stuffs going around in this league.
Title: Re: preseason 2 done Post by: WizardsGM on October 19, 2007, 08:13:02 AM The only thing that's amazing is your justifications for all the crappy stuffs going around in this league. I just wish I had a justification for why you're still here. Title: Re: preseason 2 done Post by: KingsGM-old on October 19, 2007, 08:23:57 AM Well i just wish you could stop being obsessed with me.
Get a life, pal. Title: Re: preseason 2 done Post by: HornetsGM on October 19, 2007, 08:39:00 AM get a room you two
Title: Re: preseason 2 done Post by: HornetsGM on October 19, 2007, 08:59:41 AM Well, a slightly better sim for the Hornets after I slowed down the pace. Ralph improved drastically, but Macy's three point shooting fell slightly. Natt didn't like the slow pace, but Wilkins did, and Stockton's TOs went down... Looks like the balancing act all over again.
Title: Re: preseason 2 done Post by: CelticsGM on October 19, 2007, 09:04:06 AM relax guys, it's a game only, nothing to get serious about.
Title: Re: preseason 2 done Post by: WizardsGM on October 19, 2007, 09:07:04 AM Well i just wish you could stop being obsessed with me. Get a life, pal. Obsessed is definitely the right word. Look out your bedroom window 8) Title: Re: preseason 2 done Post by: SpursGM-old on October 19, 2007, 09:18:59 AM Another fine preseason playing my regular lineup vs everyone's experiments. Changed my options a little and played an inside game.
The inside game with Mitchell & Fleisher as options proved to be very strong offensively. We led the league in FG%, FTA (7th in %), first in 3pt %. Top ten in other offensive categories as well as near the top in rebounding differential and turnover differential (2 keys to winning teams in SSBA). Defensively we protect the rim well. 2nd in opponent's FG% & FTA, 3rd in scoring defense...all at a fast pace. All I can hope for is continued success when the games start to count. Title: Re: preseason 2 done Post by: CelticsGM on October 19, 2007, 09:20:33 AM well, 14 seasons in ... and you're still believing a great preseason will carry over to day 1.
:lol2: Title: Re: preseason 2 done Post by: SpursGM-old on October 19, 2007, 09:23:36 AM well, 14 seasons in ... and you're still believing a great preseason will carry over to day 1. :lol2: No I HOPE that it will. And seeing how I had the top record in the west last year as well as my entire team returning I honestly believe that it is a reasonable hope. Title: Re: preseason 2 done Post by: NetsGM on October 19, 2007, 09:52:33 AM Well, my main goals in this sim were to see how Barkley would respond to being the primary option offensively, and he responded. 21.3 ppg, 11.7 rpg in only 32 minutes. Got to the line a lot (nearly 8 attempts per game), and converted (76.1%). Gives me something to go on as I shape my team.
Title: Re: preseason 2 done Post by: BlazersGM on October 19, 2007, 10:46:44 AM We played nasty at home 7-1, with Tower as a PG.
Title: Re: preseason 2 done Post by: CelticsGM on October 19, 2007, 02:11:59 PM We played nasty at home 7-1, with Tower as a PG. although it should read "We played nasty at home 7-1, despite Tower as a PG." Title: Re: preseason 2 done Post by: NetsGM on October 19, 2007, 05:23:51 PM Koncak played OK as a starter, so that's good stuff. I think he and Turkoglu might have futures. Johnny Martin got consistent playing time, and it showed in his production: percentages were up, shot blocking and rebounding rates were good. A little more confident in my depth upfront this year if something tragic should happen with Schmalzy or Woot.
Arizin and Sanders played equally well, all things considered. Neither will see much time behind Hubbard, but again, depth is nice. Milner was up to his old tricks with Bradley playing along side him. Seems like he and Kersey might have some difficulty cohabitating in the starting lineup - two guys who like the ball and can score it. Milner played a much more balanced game with Kersey coming off the bench, and Marcus seemed to like it just fine himself - putting up nice numbers in a combo role. All set for the coming season. Good luck to one and all. Title: Re: preseason 2 done Post by: NetsGM on October 20, 2007, 01:00:27 PM Both preseasons are archived here:
