Title: Re: FA day 2 done Post by: NetsGM on October 11, 2007, 06:40:07 AM Ugh. I never seem to sign anyone I really want. Someone should tell these guys that Jersey is a nice place, full of nice people....kinda.
Title: Re: FA day 2 done Post by: CelticsGM on October 11, 2007, 06:42:33 AM swampland. nuff siad ...
So Isaiah hooks up with me again. Glad to have a 5'6" PG with C+ handles back on my roster. Title: Re: FA day 2 done Post by: PacersGM on October 11, 2007, 10:15:16 AM sorry guys michael schader is of course still available. i have troubles to take o´neill out of FA, maybe i removed schader in that process.
Title: Re: FA day 2 done Post by: NetsGM on October 11, 2007, 03:19:00 PM Well, I used up my MLE and LLE. I'm fairly happy with who I got. Sure, neither of them are going to be starters, or even close. And they're both practically retired. But if I can get one year of serviceable backup play, that's all I'm really looking for. Telfair did put up nearly 10/6.5 last year, so hopefully in a 20-25 mpg role he can be productive.
Semjonova was mainly just to get a nice big expiring in case a deal came along that I needed it. Last year I didn't have anything to match salary with, and that actually killed a deal or two I was working on. Title: Re: FA day 2 done Post by: BlazersGM on October 11, 2007, 04:14:07 PM Beautiful, just beautiful. I cant use this damn money again, if i knew this before i would keep Macy.
And now O'Neill is gone, and my only two wishes i wanted to re-sign after i spend my money Keogan and Telf went for ridicolous minimum and MLE offers. Fuck it all. Signed no one, lost Telf and Keogan for whom i didnt want to offer before Day 3 cause i wanted to spend my money on others 1st. And they both went to Pistons and Pacers !! Former and current commish....gRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. Youve done that on purpose, just kiddin' Title: Re: FA day 2 done Post by: WizardsGM on October 11, 2007, 04:55:44 PM "If you knew this before" ? Dude, it was never going to be a good FA class, not sure where you were looking.
Title: Re: FA day 2 done Post by: BlazersGM on October 11, 2007, 07:05:15 PM Its never good, weird.
Title: Re: FA day 2 done Post by: SpursGM-old on October 11, 2007, 07:36:28 PM Its never good, weird. Sort of like the NBA. Look at this past year...Rashard Lewis as the big name FA. Very few stars switch teams through FA. Title: Re: FA day 2 done Post by: CelticsGM on October 11, 2007, 08:22:04 PM here. other leagues hardly ever have quality problems in FA.
guess we're all to conservative here ... ;-) Title: Re: FA day 2 done Post by: BlazersGM on October 12, 2007, 11:00:59 AM Exactly, its only league where we just have 1-3 guys worth MAX last few seasons and 99 % always sign with their last team, unlike other leagues where some 3-7 good guys enter, and half of them change teams.
Title: Re: FA day 2 done Post by: NetsGM on October 13, 2007, 09:48:34 AM here. other leagues hardly ever have quality problems in FA. Not all of us. I had a winning % of .850+, and I've shuffled quite a bit and made a better team imo.guess we're all to conservative here ... ;-) And that 'big bucks for a role player' comment on Wooten will motivate me for many seasons to come, Tom. If you had a 24 year old, 6'11, 280lb'er with career shooting #'s in the .440/.710 range who puts up 3bpg, I doubt you'd be calling him a 'role player'. More like 'untouchable'. |
