Title: Re: FA day 1 done Post by: PacersGM on October 10, 2007, 01:54:11 AM well rolando is back with the pistons and chambers with the kings.
i lost 2 key backups nothing really that bothers me too much. Title: Re: FA day 1 done Post by: SonicsGM on October 10, 2007, 02:02:58 AM Wow, Mark Wootten hit the jackpot!
Title: Re: FA day 1 done Post by: GrizzliesGM on October 10, 2007, 02:13:35 AM Wow, Mark Wootten hit the jackpot! I think Tom Chambers hit it too. I considered offering Chambers my LLE, but decided he was not worth it. I think the Kings GM may have been :bods: when he offered him that. Title: Re: FA day 1 done Post by: CelticsGM on October 10, 2007, 02:56:04 AM well, there's absolutely nothing wrong with a 1yr deal of any size.
In fact the Kings would have been unbelievably stupid had they offered anything less than at least 7 mill, and it doesn't matter if TCs skills are worth it. This is salary maths, nothing else. Title: Re: FA day 1 done Post by: KingsGM-old on October 10, 2007, 03:47:24 AM well rolando is back with the pistons and chambers with the kings. Are you sayin that Chambers was a hot commodity this offseason?! Title: Re: FA day 1 done Post by: PacersGM on October 10, 2007, 04:01:46 AM well rolando is back with the pistons and chambers with the kings. Are you sayin that Chambers was a hot commodity this offseason?! no that wasn´t my point. sorry if you get the impression. Title: Re: FA day 1 done Post by: SixersGM on October 10, 2007, 04:52:18 AM welcome back hobson.. My franchise player..
Title: Re: FA day 1 done Post by: Str8westcoasta on October 10, 2007, 05:03:03 AM What an absolute kick in the nuts!
Glad I hung on to my 2023 1st, coz that was a dissaster. Barring an amazing and freakish training camp, we're in the bottom 5 next year Title: Re: FA day 1 done Post by: NetsGM on October 10, 2007, 07:01:09 AM Wow, Mark Wootten hit the jackpot! Yeah.....well, he's 24 and not even entering his prime even if it is overpaying some - last year I didn't want to do that and look at how that turned out. So, when working on the S&T I saw a handful of legitimate threats with cap space to steal him away, and wanted to make sure that I got him. If he can give me what he gave two years ago for each year of the deal, he's going to be great value. My targets again declined my MLE offer - what else is new :bash: And :lmao: at Nuggets signing Zollner on Day One....after all those years trying to get his guys extolling Lavar's virtues and him rejecting me everytime! Title: Re: FA day 1 done Post by: WizardsGM on October 10, 2007, 07:32:46 AM Needed to add big men this offseason, and managed to get my MLE and LLE signed on the first day (I never have that happen). Both Lavar and Wright are B+ defenders and should help fortify my bench a bit.
And Nets: this was a really, really weak FA class, especially in regards to bigmen, I didnt have a lot of options. But now I can say I got him without giving you anything ;) Title: Re: FA day 1 done Post by: HornetsGM on October 10, 2007, 07:48:53 AM I'm very happy to add Kite, who's solid developing big. I'm also glad I was able to hang on to Russell, who was great as a backup last season.
Title: Re: FA day 1 done Post by: HornetsGM on October 10, 2007, 07:49:46 AM Najera was a pretty big steal for the Cavs. Good job there...
Title: Re: FA day 1 done Post by: CavsGM on October 10, 2007, 08:18:04 AM Yeah I'm pretty happy with how it turned out, using up all of my cap space on day 1. But I did make offers to 12 guys, so that's not surprising. Najera could still improve with his A potential, and that would make him a great PG. The other guys I got are decent, but nothing special...
Title: Re: FA day 1 done Post by: CelticsGM on October 10, 2007, 08:28:55 AM good luck with Terpening, hope a change of scenery will finally allow him to reach his potential.
Title: Re: FA day 1 done Post by: NetsGM on October 10, 2007, 09:55:43 AM Yeah I'm pretty happy with how it turned out, using up all of my cap space on day 1. But I did make offers to 12 guys, so that's not surprising. Najera could still improve with his A potential, and that would make him a great PG. The other guys I got are decent, but nothing special... I like both signings, nice job.Rockets got Drew to sign for pennies, looks like a really good deal. Nuggets: you're right, this FA class is pretty crappy - but I always knew, as you are probably noticing now, that you have always been "in love with (Lavar)" [think: Queen]. I'm happy for you that you fulfilled your subconscious desire to always have him. And he plays above his ratings - he'll do well for you. In fact, this FA class is so bad, why don't we just do two days of FA and get on with the season!?!? Title: Re: FA day 1 done Post by: WizardsGM on October 10, 2007, 09:56:42 AM I'm down for that, my roster is transformation for this offseason is now complete (save for a minimum PG for insurance).
Title: Re: FA day 1 done Post by: HawksGM on October 10, 2007, 10:10:10 AM very happy to get Josephy Gomes back, I'm hoping that he can be a good rental at PG, until either Spud or Darrell Walker can show some ratings improvements. I am also happy to give Laimbeer one last chance at starting C. He played well last year but I want a little more. Right now he will split time with Pryz, hope they can do the job in the brutal Central Division.
Title: Re: FA day 1 done Post by: NetsGM on October 10, 2007, 10:48:56 AM Got Blackman back, which was the #1 priority this offseason. I was hoping someone would have taken my cap space on day 1, since now I don't have it, but it's better than losing Blackman.
Title: Re: FA day 1 done Post by: CelticsGM on October 10, 2007, 10:59:36 AM Rolando and Najera were the only hot commodities on this FA market and signing them over all other offers is something making the Cavs and Pistons feel very very good about.
And seeing whats left I assume there will be a lot of big expirings available this coming season ... Title: Re: FA day 1 done Post by: RaptorsGM on October 10, 2007, 11:17:25 AM Got Blackman back, which was the #7 priority this offseason. I was hoping someone would have taken my cap space on day 1, since now I don't have it, but it's better than losing Blackman. What were the first 6? Title: Re: FA day 1 done Post by: NetsGM on October 10, 2007, 11:20:14 AM hahahaha, oops. That was a bad typo.
Title: Re: FA day 1 done Post by: RaptorsGM on October 10, 2007, 11:26:23 AM hahah i assumed that
Title: Re: FA day 1 done Post by: ClippersGM-old on October 10, 2007, 05:21:56 PM Yeah I'm pretty happy with how it turned out, using up all of my cap space on day 1. But I did make offers to 12 guys, so that's not surprising. Najera could still improve with his A potential, and that would make him a great PG. The other guys I got are decent, but nothing special... This sucks big time. I offered him a much bigger contract. Not just a couple million more, but a lot more. And he has 86 loyalty. You know... after sooo many seasons, I still don't understand this program. But this just sucks!!! Well, not happy to do so, but good luck with him. He is a great point guard. Title: Re: FA day 1 done Post by: HornetsGM on October 10, 2007, 05:39:39 PM Yeah, you really took a hit these past couple FAs... First Mahorn, now Najera.

He was probably ticked that you werent starting him Title: Re: FA day 1 done Post by: BlazersGM on October 10, 2007, 06:13:51 PM bleh, Rolando was only guy guy worth MAX, he re-signed. Billy went for 1 mil less, Mark "W" something went. This FA is over for me basically. Weakeast FA ever damn, and not like last one was much better, but still i can hope next FA will be much better as ill have money again.
Anyway, happy to get "that guy" for an expiring and a 1st round pick at least. Title: Re: FA day 1 done Post by: GoldenStateGM on October 10, 2007, 10:59:02 PM Glad to get Pettit back. he was very effective last year as my third big, and was great starting in the playoffs...
Title: Re: FA day 1 done Post by: ClippersGM-old on October 11, 2007, 02:45:37 PM aaahhh now you remind me of Mahorn again. yeah him and najera would make a major difference to my team. guess nobody likes the once mighty clippers anymore. :)
Yeah, you really took a hit these past couple FAs... First Mahorn, now Najera. |
