Title: FA bid
Post by: MavsGM on August 15, 2007, 12:21:45 PM
Do I have to resubmit my FA bids if my roster is full and then I cut one player?

If you go in and "edit" them, you'll be fine

Basically, the webpage will remember your bids, but when your roster hits 15, then FBB will clear your bids.  So pacersgm will have to re-enter them.  Thing is, once the bids are entered the first time into FBB, the webpage "forgets" them (so Pacers can see only updated and new bids).  If you go in, edit them, and put the exact same thing, PacersGM will "re-see" them.

Got it.  I canceled the old bids and submit it all over again.

i have a question, i know it was answered some time ago but i couldnt find it and i have really slow connection so ill just ask help here cause i cant remember how it goes.

I have 4 mil more cap room, can i still offer some player for example 10 mil, or i can just offer maximum 4 mil to that player (player who was not on my team of course).

Depends.

If the offer was made before, when you had 10 million, it stays in the program as 10 million, and the guy will NEVER sign.

If you make a new offer and incorrectly put 10 million, the program will change it to whatever you have as your max.

My list is empty now and i never made any bids to players who remained, so now with 4.2 mil cap space i can offer 5 or more mil contracts to them, correct ?

you can not offer more cap space than you have, so for any player who was NOT with you last season all you can offer is 4.2 mill starting ...

Ok thanks, so i can offer 4.109.083(thats what i have) and then computer will show it as -1 on my salary cap after that no ? or it shows that i have 0 exactly. I remember i had -1 dollar last year i think.

some advice: forget what the computer does show you, go by what you know yourself. Look at your available cap space on the team page and go from there.

So always make custom offers where YOU enter the starting amount/years/increase, that way there's no confusion. "max" is so unpredictable, since depending on bird years & former team & former salary this can be one among a dozen or so possible combinations of money, years & increase.

Ok thanks Tom. Me and Ivan are still probably only GMs who dont understand many rules after years of sim leagues and probably never will learn everything LOL.

even with that little cap space ?

even with that little cap space ?

Yes, since the cap space is less than the MLE.  However if you offer both a $4 mil contract and a MLE then the MLE signs first it will take the rest of your cap space.
