Title: Training Camp Run
Post by: HawksGM on June 08, 2007, 07:25:35 PM
I uploaded the site with the new file.  Bods will upload the pre-tc file whenever he gets the time.  Pre-season sim 1 will be on Monday, I'll update calendar tomorrow.

Thanks for all the work, Hawks.

As for TC for the Nets, it looks pretty underwhelming to me. Most of my kids (and vets for that matter) stayed the same, or regressed mildly (Macauley and VJ), some improved mildly (Albert King developed something of a shooting touch - who knew?)....and not one guy broke out in any kinda sexy way.

Ah well, onto pre-season.

Well, a pretty decent Training camp for the Warriors...

Tyson Thurmond improved his defense, and Phil Hubbard improved his rebounding and his defense.
Don Collins picked up a defense, O'Connell lost a handle, but Max picked up a defense....

Team weaknesses from lat year were defense and rebounding, so this TC is very encouraging from that perspective.

I have some very interesting lineup combo's to choose from.
My frontcourt is set, with Thurmond and Hubbard starting, and Holman as a super sub.
Whether to start Sylvester or Guttierez is my question right now....

Love seeing that potential on Sidney Green work out nicely, looking like a future steal at 13 (A- def, B+ reb from SF already)

Oh well, maxed him out and Wiley Peck did nothing in TC. Much like the rest of the Rockets roster

oh yes !

finally a TC to make me happy. some of the highlights:

the core
Orlando +2 (outside, def) ... he's only 22 !!! slowly reaching cornerstone to rebuild around status
Teagle +2 (inside, def) ... might replace Lenard soon
Magloire +2 (all defense) ... if there was one weakness with him so far ;-)
Tyler 0 ... lets get him the DPOY again
Pavel 0 ... happy, happy
Strait -1 (outside) ... bench player, still one of the better there
Lenard -1 (inside) ... well, he's 34

the next generation
Hobson +3 (inside, handles, defense) ... who knows if i might not need him
Thirdkill +1 (handles) ... who knows if i might not play him
Tillis 0 (+ reb, -handles) ... who knows if i might not use him
Tornopsky 0 ... he'll get his audition this season

the last generation
Amare -3 ... who knows if i might not bench him
Perry -2 ... who knows if i will ever need him
Chills 0 ... who knows if i keep him

Lots of happy faces in New England, my friends !

Munson +1 POT
McHale -1 OUT +1 HND -1 DEF +1 REB -1 POT (probably should have left him at SF for TC since that is where I have to play him)
Priddy +1 OUT, -1 DEF, +1 POT
Williams +1 IN, +1 HND, +1 POT - hopefully the increase in handles lowers his turnovers
King -1 DEF
Green +1 IN, +1 HND, +2 DEF, +2 REB - I've never in my sim experience have a guy jump 6, or 2 in 2 different cats
Terpening +2 OUT, +1 HND, +1 DEF - nice gamble on this 2nd rounder, might play next season
Pettit -1 DEF - very happy with this, he is still an A- defender and I expected more decline at age 34
Ransey - +1 OUT, -1 DEF, -1 REB - definitely disappointed his defence worsened, I am not sure he is our PG of the future.

Overall with these guys its a +10 TC, happy with the overall team improvements

Well after deciding to save my cap space for a year (everyone on my team is signed past this year already, but O'Neil will be bought out to equal out the % increases and the new draft picks) i'm pretty happy with how things worked out in tc.

don't have much to say before i can get a good study of the pre-tc rosters, but i'm particuallrly impressed with byron scott and marcus kersey...they will likely be my starting bCKCOURT

I'm very happy with Mike Evans, he improved 1 in handles.  My inside game is absolutely awful, I will have to see how these guys do in pre-season before I have a clue on which way I'm going to go with starting lineups.

Hmmm, having looked at the pre and post rosters now, I am just as happy...

Holman took a hit, losing an inside and a defense, but not unexpectd at his age.
Thurmond gained a defense and a handle...  If that extra defense can enable him tostay on the court for 32+ minutes, he will be a dominant shotblocking force.
Phil Hubbard gained def and reb, awesome..
The thing I missed ws that while O'Connell lost an handle, he gained a rebound.

The defensive and rebounding weaknesses of my team improved in TC.  Looks like coach was focusing on the right things!!!

Nothing great happening in this TC, with most of my guys either staying put or losing some ratings. The only notable improvements are Wu and Gragg. Wu looks very promising, he went up in handles and rebounding and kept his B potential. Gragg improved in handles and inside scoring, looking like a complete offensive player. Fisher will struggle to keep his starting job since he went down in defense and inside. So much for the  Wolkowyski MLE signing, he went down in outside scoring and defense. At least I picked up Jeanette and Provost so there will be some fighting for that backup spot. Overall the TC wasn't very good, but I can't complain. I know one thing, the Cavs will be some competing once again this year...

X-Stock now has a B+ outside while standing at 7'3'' tall....dangerous.

Quincy Peters also increased his interior scoring, making him even more dangerous.

Not a good TC for Blazers, oldies declined, and those 2nd rounders improved nothing.

Centers did bad, all of them, but nothing too bad tough.

Mills improved inside and handles and kept his A pot, it'll be interesting to see how future
development will be for this 20 y.o kid.

Buehler lost handles again, he's F+ again, and Phelps continued to decline. Lost handles.

Tarlac had another +2 TC after last years. Really happy with him considering he was drafted
by commishes mistake, but now im happy he was, two good TCs for him.

Both Rivera and Toney improved, Vandeweghe improved his defense, Theus lost a handle, and Uner went down...Overall I still feel I'm even better than last year with my two key players off the bench improving with Vandeweghe and Thomas, and I feel my starters are better considering Uner is still a top pg in the league. I also tracked down Sura too in free agency who I really like and didn't get a chance to enjoy last season. Wells may have been a nice guy to throw in the mix late in my rotations but then he plummeted in TC too.

I am very content though, i'm anxious to see where Toney's new rating will put him in terms of scoring, hopefully he can top off in the league leaders somewhere. I have arguably the best defensive lineup of anyone with Uner, Dial, and Rivera all earning all-league selections in previous years, and a prolific backcourt with two 20+ scorers, 3pt shooting, and Rivera's rebounding inside. I like the mix and hopefully it can bring me to the top again.

Well, 3 A- offensive players in the lineup, but defense is once again a total crap.

Just great...
