Title: Re: Day 4 FA Results Post by: GoldenStateGM on June 07, 2007, 04:47:20 PM I made an offer for Jamal del Negro?
Glad to get Stephan Sylvester, he will complete my lineup and give me a very nice rebounding SF... Title: Re: Day 4 FA Results Post by: NetsGM on June 07, 2007, 04:51:27 PM Quote I made an offer for Jamal del Negro? Doesn't look like it. Looks like it was entered in mistakenly. Luckily, nobody else did either, so we'll just release him into the FA pool. Title: Re: Day 4 FA Results Post by: WizardsGM on June 07, 2007, 04:53:32 PM no one wants the Nuggets' LLE :(
Title: Re: Day 4 FA Results Post by: BlazersGM on June 07, 2007, 05:18:48 PM We welcome back our legend....welcome back to scene of the crime Bassy.
And screw you Peck, i guess it means nothing to you we made you a star and gave you starting role. Instead of staying here for 4 years you went to Houston for 6. We'll good luck there you disrespectful bastard. Title: Re: Day 4 FA Results Post by: Str8westcoasta on June 07, 2007, 05:22:50 PM And screw you Peck, i guess it means nothing to you we made you a star and gave you starting role. I promise to look after him / put him straight on the block :D Title: Re: Day 4 FA Results Post by: Str8westcoasta on June 07, 2007, 05:24:35 PM Man, my team just went from absolutely aweful, to mediocre... with potential.
I'll take that.. lol Title: Re: Day 4 FA Results Post by: CelticsGM on June 07, 2007, 05:28:46 PM ... And screw you Peck, i guess it means nothing to you we made you a star and gave you starting role. Instead of staying here for 4 years you went to Houston for 6. We'll good luck there you disrespectful bastard. man, that "i will max him out" quote was soooo lame. From that moment on it was crystal clear you wouldn't ... :lmao: Title: Re: Day 4 FA Results Post by: HawksGM on June 07, 2007, 05:29:21 PM I made an offer for Jamal del Negro? Glad to get Stephan Sylvester, he will complete my lineup and give me a very nice rebounding SF... man, i even checked that one over because there are so many Jamal's I didn't want to get you the wrong one, sorry, like derek said it will be fixed. Title: Re: Day 4 FA Results Post by: BlazersGM on June 07, 2007, 05:39:29 PM ... And screw you Peck, i guess it means nothing to you we made you a star and gave you starting role. From that moment on it was crystal clear you wouldn't ... :lmao: I did give him MAX contract, but for 4 years only. Title: Re: Day 4 FA Results Post by: GrizzliesGM on June 07, 2007, 05:59:12 PM Damn you Pacers! I cannot believe I lost Caleb Anderson for nothing. I offered him the max for three years.
Title: Re: Day 4 FA Results Post by: CelticsGM on June 07, 2007, 06:12:53 PM "MAX" my friends means "maximum available money".
"MAX for 4 years" is a cheapshot attempt to get someone for almost free, and player (agents) usually see the truth behind these disgusting offers. Has it ever come to your GM mind that these poor souls have families they need to feed, too ? :lol2: Title: Re: Day 4 FA Results Post by: BlazersGM on June 07, 2007, 06:18:17 PM I just ment MAX money for 1st year of contract that i can give, usually by MAX i only mean that, that im gonna offer 10 or 15 million or whatsever rather then gamble with some good contract what's really worth, rarelly by MAX i mean max number of years as well, altough looking at his contract it aint that bad. I had no time to check it, i tought it would be around 95-100 so i went with 4 years only and lost him. But if i just had few minutes of available time to check how his contract will really look like, i would probably max the years as well and he would probably be a blazer still.
Anyway screw Peck, we have plenty of nice backcourt players anyway. I hope i wont regret it after TC. Title: Re: Day 4 FA Results Post by: Str8westcoasta on June 07, 2007, 07:07:41 PM I hope i wont regret it after TC. Same here! TC is gunna be huge for me this year. I signed like 4 players purely on the basis that they have potential. Things could go very, very wrong... Title: Re: Day 4 FA Results Post by: SonicsGM on June 07, 2007, 07:36:58 PM what's the big deal with Peck anyways?
I had him for 3+ years, and he never did anything, despite my many attempts to make him a star. He has great ratings, but never seems to put it together. I could be wrong...but why the max contract? Title: Re: Day 4 FA Results Post by: NetsGM on June 07, 2007, 08:17:40 PM Quote I could be wrong...but why the max contract? I was wondering the same thing. Title: Re: Day 4 FA Results Post by: SixersGM on June 07, 2007, 10:24:56 PM So, tomorrow is the TC? right?
Title: Re: Day 4 FA Results Post by: SixersGM on June 08, 2007, 12:06:45 AM Nice to see Mikel Chamberlain and his old ass back in Philly again. His my insurance if ever Vito Ramsay decides, at his own will, to decline during the TC and can no longer play huge minutes for my team. Chamberlain is SSBA's version of Kevin Ollie/Brevin Knight, I like those kind of PG. More Assists very less TOs.
Title: Re: Day 4 FA Results Post by: Str8westcoasta on June 08, 2007, 04:39:46 AM Quote I could be wrong...but why the max contract? I was wondering the same thing. A gamble. He's young and (apparently) has potential. Title: Re: Day 4 FA Results Post by: NetsGM on June 08, 2007, 05:56:19 AM A little disappointed in today's results. Had targeted a couple of kids, but they got scooped by a team with cap space, my MLE target took bigger bucks, and so on....
Echoes my sentiments of this promising FA as a whole - would have preferred a much younger stud than Schmalz, and I thought NJ would have been a much more desirable destination...but them's the breaks, and it was worth taking the shot. Happy to have English back as a veteran fallback at the point and as trade fodder if need be. Gola's D jumps to B at SG as I hoped it would, and he has a good history during TC and might be a bit of a diamond in the rough. Schmalz needs to hold steady for a couple of years to make his big deal worthwhile. Very much so looking forward to TC. Hoping for a few nice developments - namely with Wiggins and Macy - since my last one was no great shakes. A little surprise here and there from some unexpected sources would be nice too. Gotta agree that Peck is very overpaid, almost severely, though I hope he works out for you Rockets. Title: Re: Day 4 FA Results Post by: Str8westcoasta on June 08, 2007, 06:32:39 AM Gotta agree that Peck is very overpaid, almost severely, though I hope he works out for you Rockets. Yeah I agree and thanks. But in the end I offered max deals to: Bertram Shultz Mike Evans Bailey Tobey Magic Johnson Steven Schmaltz None of those guys were interested, so I asked myself who could I get on a max contract better than Peck...? Title: Re: Day 4 FA Results Post by: CelticsGM on June 08, 2007, 06:48:58 AM not to play spoiler, but ...
1. Wiley has had 4 TCs. He improved 5 net ratings in those since being drafted, one each in reb, def and handles, 2 in inside. 2. His true pot can't be any better than 60-65 now (basically the max after 4 TCs). 3. He has never averaged better than 9ppg, doesn't pass and shoots 43% / 75% / 34% Now on what exactly would you justify a maximum contract ? Title: Re: Day 4 FA Results Post by: MavsGM on June 08, 2007, 10:38:51 AM He was desperate to sign someone after all top FAs were gone after day one. Peck is way overpaid just like Harris.
Title: Re: Day 4 FA Results Post by: WizardsGM on June 08, 2007, 10:47:12 AM Its one thing to just want to sign someone, but when you likely could have gotten him at 60% of what he paid....
Title: Re: Day 4 FA Results Post by: CelticsGM on June 08, 2007, 10:56:52 AM well, that's one thing i have to agree with the Rockets. Most likely he could NOT have gotten him for 60%.
But then again, for such an unproven guy and aging talent, a 1-2yr max deal should have been the most someone even considers. It's one thing to overpay for guys who produce big time. But another to do it for those who never did and maybe never will. But then again, guys like Darius Perry were riding the bench for many seasons too before they suddenly started to get the numbers everyone was expecting for years and years earlier. So there's slight hope ... Title: Re: Day 4 FA Results Post by: WizardsGM on June 08, 2007, 10:57:55 AM Sorry by 60% I didnt mean per season, I meant total contract $
Title: Re: Day 4 FA Results Post by: HawksGM on June 08, 2007, 12:18:22 PM So, tomorrow is the TC? right? yes sir, I'm at work until 5, I have to go to Verizon, pick up my daughter from day care and then depending on if what she does I'm guessing about 7 pm EST for today/tonight's sim...but yes it will be done tonight. Title: Re: Day 4 FA Results Post by: WizardsGM on June 08, 2007, 12:47:34 PM be sure to archive the rosters after FA if you are able please and thanks
Title: Re: Day 4 FA Results Post by: HawksGM on June 08, 2007, 02:01:19 PM be sure to archive the rosters after FA if you are able please and thanks I'm not sure how to do that, if somebody could explain it to me please, preferably through a pm, thanks Title: Re: Day 4 FA Results Post by: WizardsGM on June 08, 2007, 02:04:15 PM sent, hope it makes sense
Title: Re: Day 4 FA Results Post by: CelticsGM on June 08, 2007, 02:07:24 PM just save the league file before TC and after TC under 2 different names and I'm sure bods will help you out ...
