Title: FA Offers.... Post by: SonicsGM on May 30, 2007, 02:41:37 AM Will the "new input method" be finished by the beginning of this year's FA period, or should we just send in our offers to HawksGM?
Title: Re: FA Offers.... Post by: NetsGM on May 30, 2007, 07:39:02 AM Bids will be done the same way they were last year, through the GM Actions section.
There might be some backend changes, but nothing that affects you guys. Title: Re: FA Offers.... Post by: SonicsGM on May 30, 2007, 03:28:58 PM when will the option be availble?
Right now it says..... ""Bids are currently being submitted. Look for the results soon!"" Title: Re: FA Offers.... Post by: NetsGM on May 30, 2007, 03:50:56 PM probably in the next day or two.
Title: Re: FA Offers.... Post by: NetsGM on May 31, 2007, 12:33:07 PM FA Bids have been updated and opened.
Title: Re: FA Offers.... Post by: HawksGM on May 31, 2007, 02:52:23 PM my offers have been sent in to Derek
Title: Re: FA Offers.... Post by: HawksGM on May 31, 2007, 06:35:32 PM I'm going to start inputting bids at around 2:30 pm EST Sunday afternoon, so get them in before then.
Title: Re: FA Offers.... Post by: MagicGM on June 01, 2007, 11:20:27 PM there is something wrong. minimum players cant be offered 2 years.
Title: Re: FA Offers.... Post by: NetsGM on June 02, 2007, 06:36:41 AM that's because you can't offer minimum players two year contracts....
http://kb.ssbabasketball.com/wiki/Free_Agency_%28Rules%29#Minimum Reason: Let's say you take a guy and give him a minimum salary of 465k. For his second year, with a 10% raise, that would be a max salary 511k. The minimum based on experience is 540k. Doesn't work. Let's say you offer someone a 2 year minimum, and the guy has 4 years of experience. You offer him 590k his first year (the minimum based on experience). With 10% raises, that gives you the ability to offer him a max of 649k his second year. Uh oh. Minimum allowed based on someone with 5 years experience is 653k. You can't do 2 year minimum contracts. Never have been able to, and it's clearly written that minimum contracts are one year deals in the rules. Where have you been the last 15 sim seasons? Title: Re: FA Offers.... Post by: CelticsGM on June 02, 2007, 07:40:05 AM well, you can offer 1st year players 2 yr contracts and you can offer 10+ yr veterans 2 yr contracts in FBB.
it's possible. if it's prohibited, that's understandable, but i'm not sure it hasn't happened here, and I know for sure it happens in other leagues Title: Re: FA Offers.... Post by: NetsGM on June 02, 2007, 07:48:10 AM Just entering my FA bids, having cap space for one max guy. The instructions on the FA page say pick Max and # of years, and the rest will be automatically filled in. I noticed that when I entered max for 6 years for one ex-King , it entered a raise of 12.5% rather than the 10% I'm supposed to be able to offer. I noticed I can also enter 7 years rather than the rule listed max of 6 years.
Should I worry about this? Will my bids be entered at the 10% or should I enter the 10% manually? I don't want to make any extra work for Hawks - will he have to manually change this? Title: Re: FA Offers.... Post by: NetsGM on June 02, 2007, 08:04:24 AM minimum contracts have always been 1 year deals in ssba. I wouldn't change it now, but it's hawks call.
Nets: When entering "max" it fills in the max possible. Basically, in FBB there's a button to hit called "max". It will automatically fill in the max raises along with max years, so that's why I have the form to do the max possible for anyone (because HawksGM won't actually be entering in the years and raise, the program will do it) Title: Re: FA Offers.... Post by: NetsGM on June 02, 2007, 08:09:00 AM Great, thanks.

Post by: NetsGM on June 02, 2007, 08:24:55 PM I should clarify this.
If you just enter "Max", it will enter 1 year. The year length you do chose, the raise % and starting salary gets filled in automatically. Title: Re: FA Offers.... But...I think you *might* want to get ready to change your sig  Title: Re: FA Offers.... Post by: CelticsGM on June 03, 2007, 01:13:21 AM well, right now we have to wait on the final day of draft simming anyway, so I wonder how our schedule might change since we've got 2 days delay already.
Title: Re: FA Offers.... Post by: KingsGM-old on June 03, 2007, 07:49:41 AM I don't want to get one or both of your premium guys What's so premier about them? Title: Re: FA Offers.... Post by: MagicGM on June 03, 2007, 08:04:57 AM that's because you can't offer minimum players two year contracts.... uhmm you did it. http://kb.ssbabasketball.com/wiki/Free_Agency_%28Rules%29#Minimum Reason: Let's say you take a guy and give him a minimum salary of 465k. Where have you been the last 15 sim seasons? http://forums.ssbabasketball.com/index.php?topic=5926.0 Quote And you can sign minimum players to two year deals, but the only stipulation is the contract for the 2nd year can't be less than the minimum allowed based on experience, which it often is because the raises aren't enough. Title: Re: FA Offers.... Post by: NetsGM on June 03, 2007, 09:05:10 AM Well, I must have been drunk then.
If you want to make an offer, don't select the "min" dropdown. Rather do a custom, enter the minimum salary he can make best on experience, 2 years, and the raise, and let HawksGM decide on whether or not it should be allowed. Title: Re: FA Offers.... Post by: CelticsGM on June 03, 2007, 09:10:14 AM I KNEW it had happened before ...
:-) Title: Re: FA Offers.... Post by: MagicGM on June 03, 2007, 09:21:14 AM Well, I must have been drunk then. yeah, did it earlier just to make sure, and asked him if its allowed.
