Title: Playoffs: Finals Finished Post by: HawksGM on May 11, 2007, 02:57:11 PM Round 1 up...tomorrow's sim is at an unknown time, but after 2pm EST sometime. Upset's ran rampant in the east, unfortunately I am one of those victims.
Title: Re: Playoffs Post by: RaptorsGM on May 11, 2007, 03:24:15 PM
Not only did I make it out of the frst round, I'm the 2nd highest seed left in the East? Wowza Major analysis to come Title: Re: Playoffs Post by: RaptorsGM on May 11, 2007, 03:47:47 PM Damn this makes me regret trading Barton...I'd be the favortite in the East
Title: Re: Playoffs Post by: CelticsGM on May 11, 2007, 05:02:43 PM Never understood why a top 3 team would trade it's best player in such a wide-open season, i said so before.
But has there ever been a season where the #1, #2 1nd #3 seed go down in the first round ? Amazing choke jobs ... or should we say great upsets. Probably a little bit of both. When you see practically all of the top eastern teams barely playing .500 ball during the latter parts of the season, you know it's there to take for anybody. Props to the survivors ! But, man, it sucks looking at what could have been ... Title: Re: Playoffs Post by: WizardsGM on May 11, 2007, 05:20:55 PM Congrats to the Blazers for beating us in 6. Glad our team even won 2 games. As I said before, Yao was just too much for us. If we had a legit centre I believe we had a shot in this one.

I thought we were in good shape to make it to the EC Finals, although like I said previously, the most dangerous low seeds, IMO, were the Celtics (who didn't get it) and the Wizards who knocked me off in Atlanta in game 7. I guess I was wrong, they were all dangerous. If we had George Johnson it would have been a better outcome for the series and Mike Evans wouldn't have been chucking up shots like there was no tomorrow. Our first PO and we choke as the top team in the league (ie. real life Mavs), but I expect a better PO performance next season as long as we can replace some of the guys we lose. Title: Re: Playoffs Post by: HornetsGM on May 11, 2007, 06:21:12 PM Would the championship-era Nets lose a single game in this league?
Title: Re: Playoffs Post by: HawksGM on May 11, 2007, 06:22:05 PM Would the championship-era Nets lose a single game in this league? lol, that's a good question, I don't think so, they were a machine Title: Re: Playoffs Post by: RaptorsGM on May 11, 2007, 06:50:04 PM Game 1: Bulls 112 Raptors 102
-- Natt had a really solid game with 22 and 9 in 40 minutes. Kareem added 19/9, and his backup Beens had 12/9. We shot 50% and made 14-17 free throws, but the Bulls shot 51.7% and got to the line 28 times. The big difference maker was Fleisher who scored 25 on 10/11 shooting and a perfect 5/5 at the line. We were only able to force 6 turnovers compared to the 12 we committed. Game 2: Raptors 112 Bulls 108 -- Down 8 heading into the 4th Q and facing an 0-2 defecit in the series, the youngsters really stepped their game up and got us the important victory. Team shot 52.3% from the floor, an amazing road percentage. Sleepy was the hero, scoring 26 on 11/16 shooting including 4/6 from beyond. He added 8 assists. Cunningham had his second big game in a row with 18 pts and 14 rebs. Hard to remember that Sleepy and Cunningham are two rookies drafted in the middle of the round, now vitale in a playoff series win. Turned the ball over 18 times but we were a +9 on the glass. Game 3: Raptors 100 Bulls 97 (OT) -- Clutch overtime victory at home. Milner was able to get a triple double with 28/13/11 so I'm very surprised we held on for the W. Floyd answered Milner with 25/6/5 of his own (his second straight 25+ game) and Natt added 20 and 13. Team was great at sharing the ball, with the total being 30 and no player having more than 6. Cunningham had yet another double double and this time we won the turnover battle. Game 4: Bulls 110 Raptors 107 -- Was a tie game heading to the 4th and my boys just couldn't get it done at home. Beens came off the bench to score 22 and grab 10 as Cunningham and Wootten were both in foul trouble. Had 7 scorers in double figures, but Milner and Semjonova were too much. Lost the battle of the glass by 9. Bulls attepmted 12 more shots. Game 5: Raptors 109 Bulls 85 -- Huge statement game - a 24 pt win in a piviotal game 5 on the road is just incredible. Incredible team effort. 5 players at 15+ pts, 7 players at 5+ rebounds, 3 players with 4+ assists. Natt led the way with 19/13 and Sleepy had 18/10/6. Bulls had just 14 assists and shot just 37.3%. Game 6: Raptors 101 Bulls 96 --Big victory in a closeout game. Beens was huge with 22 in 20 minutes. Earned 9 more trips to the line, and that was clearly the difference maker. Title: Re: Playoffs Post by: JazzGM-old on May 11, 2007, 08:01:09 PM the game seems to take into consideration playoff experience. A 4-2 series win against the Cavs and my first playoff round victory in SSBA. Pretty tight, up and down series until game 6 - which made sense, since both teams are very balanced. Played out that way for the Nets, who had at least three different scoring leaders and typically had 5/6 guys in double figures.
Good series, Cavs. On to the Wiz, and Steve "Show me the Money (after a big playoff)" Schmalz - not a fan of matching up with these guys after such a big first round, and we're pretty even - so should be a good one. Good luck, Wiz. Title: Re: Playoffs Post by: HawksGM on May 12, 2007, 06:55:58 AM and before that 10game win streak you lost 4 straight (3 of those to non-PO teams) and went just 5-4 in sim 11, just like everyone else in the East (maybe apart from the Magic). Sim 11 was my first without George Johnson, that's what I attributed that mediocre sim to. Then we clicked and made a nice run to end the season. If I had George Johnson, I think it woud have been different. Lol and to Wizards, I was shocked you didn't pull Unseld off. I did all my gameplanning assuming that Unseld would be playing. Maybe that's one reason you knocked me off. Title: Re: Playoffs Post by: BlazersGM on May 12, 2007, 12:06:27 PM good series nuggs, i tought i wouldve much more problems with your team but Yao obviously pushed into final gear in po's and we won easier then expected.
Now onto wolves, we were 4-0 in regular, but that means nothing. Phelps is just 6 more days injured. /oh boy, how i wish he was here now, but Yao is playing for both. Hopefully he'll continue against wolves. Title: Re: Playoffs Post by: MavsGM on May 13, 2007, 12:02:56 AM Won the series against the Jazz in 6 games. First two games were really close and it could go either way.
Game 1 Who the &*%$# is Quincy Mihm? This guy scored 16 points off the bench in just 11 minutes. Okafor only played 19 minutes before fouling out. Tobey came up big with 32/14/4 while Okafor's replacement A.J Dial with 12/13. Game 2 A one point win, out scored the Jazz in the 4 quarter 26 to 17. Andrew Toney had a great game for the Jazz with 34/9/4/4. A balance attacked by the Mavs as all five starters reached double figures. Led by Dennis Mangrum 19/9/14 and Okafor 22/19/4. Game 3 Fans in Utah probably fell asleep after the second quarter as both team combined to score 23 total points in the second quarter. Okafor had another big game with 15/22/3 and Keogan chipped in 31 points. The Jazz shot only 30.3% in the game. Game 4 Jazz put the game away in the fourth quarter out scored the Mavs by 12 points. Mavs shot under 40% and Keogan had an off night going 7 for 26. Game 5 This game was pretty much over after the first quarter as the Mavs only scored 10 points in the quarter. Andrew Toney had 35/10/6/3 and Eddie Uner came close to a triple double with 20/10/8/4. Game 6 Mavs closed out the series by beating the Jazz on their homecourt. Okafor with another strong performance 25/17/6/2. We held their leading scorer Andrew Toney to series low 11 points. Next up is the Blazers. A matchup between two giants in 7'2 Bailey Tobey against 7'6 Yao Ming. Title: Re: Playoffs Post by: SixersGM on May 13, 2007, 02:42:03 AM A lot of close games in my series against the raptors. I think that the result could have been different if Mr.O'connell was still with the raptors.
Anyway, Congratulations to everyone who made it to the conference finals! Title: Re: Playoffs Post by: NetsGM on May 13, 2007, 07:12:39 AM A sweep is a bit of a surprise, though we did have a lot of success against them during the regular season - good series Wiz. My scoring options all played very well, and Lavar/Mike contained Schmalz enough that he wasn't able to take things into his one hands.
Next up is Sixers - a couple of upstarts in the EC finals, and a team that has really come together since the deadline. Shultz is going to go wild - he's been carrying that team, so I have to figure a way to slow him down, or bottle everyone else up. Should be a good one. Title: Re: Playoffs Post by: JazzGM-old on May 13, 2007, 05:59:48 PM tough series, but I can deal with losing to a good team...good luck mavs.
Great season overall IMO with things looking up again next season. Title: Re: Playoffs Post by: WizardsGM on May 15, 2007, 11:34:16 AM sure look forward to the extensions.
would mind if Priddy offered a very small longterm deal to stick around and rebound for me. Title: Re: Playoffs Post by: HawksGM on May 15, 2007, 05:33:43 PM my computer broke down yesterday, i am at work right now...derek will try and run the sim right now for me until I can resolve the situation.

We will have a new champion. And that's great. I see the Blazers as slight fav holding home court, but the Sixers have assembled a good team with great chemistry. Will be fun to watch. (oh and i sucks to be 4-2 against the finalists, Blazers 1-1 and Sixers 3-1 - tho not against THESE Sixers) Title: Re: Playoffs: Conference Finals Up Post by: RaptorsGM on May 15, 2007, 10:36:47 PM Go Sixers! Yao and Phelps would give me so much trouble. And we all know how good the blazers are. For a team that can beat the Mavs, I think that they do deserve so much respect.
Best of luck to both the teams. And either way, I think that we are both winners, because the other team is the champion and the other team is the 7th seed who went to the finals. :D Title: Re: Playoffs: Conference Finals Up Post by: MavsGM on May 16, 2007, 01:36:49 PM Congratz on the series win Blazers. Hopefully we can continue to play this way in finals too, and its a great feeling we've survived without phelps 1st two rounds, im sure if he was injured for mavs game as well we wouldnt be were we are now. Go Blazers !! Title: Re: Playoffs: Conference Finals Up Post by: NetsGM on May 16, 2007, 07:29:14 PM I saw the results last night, but couldn't bring myself to comment - I'm a little disappointed, and thought that the Nets matched up well against the Sixers. Lost the first two games by a total of 3 pts, which is a drag. In the end, Shulz and Ramsay were a wee bit too much. Congrats Sixers, and best of luck in the finals.
Feeling OK about the future of the team, with a very young nucleus and some cap space to burn on some premium talent *knocks on wood*. Title: Re: Playoffs: Conference Finals Up Post by: NetsGM on May 16, 2007, 09:51:21 PM Games 1-3 of the finals have been sim'd.

They barely escaped an OT decision in game 1 where they had to overcome a 14pt deficit after the 1st quarter, were blown out by 56 in game 3 and face two more road games before returning home. No, my friend, I haven't seen enough to convince me it'stheir year ... (as much as I would be happy if they DID take their first title) Title: Re: Playoffs: Finals Games 1-3 Up Post by: BlazersGM on May 17, 2007, 04:51:15 PM Blazers? were blown out by 56 in game 3 and face two more road games before returning home. ... Title: Re: Playoffs: Finals Finished Post by: BlazersGM on May 19, 2007, 11:19:53 AM Wow.
Congrats to Sixers on great series. We finally took it !! Yao can now retire in peace. I had no doubt that i made a mistake in first 3 games not playing inside, but i was really scared i mightve made a mistake with benching Trump who was TOP 5 in FG,3PT,FT and APG in PO's. He had amazing play-offs but i decided to give Toby starting role for final games 'cause of his better handles and running inside. Thank God it wasnt a mistake. It made a difference. Maybe with Trump we would win as well but all that doesnt matter now. Blazers are SSBA Champions !. Title: Re: Playoffs: Finals Finished Post by: BlazersGM on May 19, 2007, 11:28:12 AM We lost Game 4 to go 2-2 by Sixers huge run in 2nd half. It was 97-99. Not bad considering both Toby and Trump were horrible. Toby had 4-8-4 on 1-5 FG and 0-1 3pt, Trump 0-5-7 on 1-5 FG and 1-2 3pt and we almost took that one. I guess it proves how good this team is when your PGs are HORRIBLE and you lose by just 2pts. Toby's body however proved to be big advantage over Trumps in defending Vito. Thats why i decided to give him a chance in last few games this series.
Game 5 was another thriller. We came out winners this time. PGs were bad at offense, but Toby dished 16 assists. Yao 33/14 4blks and Buehler 26/14 4blks were fantastic. Game 6 another great game. 86-82 for the Blazers. Yao was magnificant with 25/21 6blks. He took his 2nd ring, we surely couldnt done this without him. Really fantastic series. True thriller's !! Title: Re: Playoffs: Finals Finished Post by: SixersGM on May 19, 2007, 11:57:31 AM Congrats to the Blazers! Im happy that he finally win a championship, especially for Mr.Yao.
I just thought that I did my best and give the blazers one heck of a fight in the last 3 games of the series, which is pretty much satisfying for me, considering the firepower I have on my team. Looking forward for next season with hopefully, Shultz and Barner maintaining their prime while Dr.J and Nance improving thru the DC with the good potential ratings.. Congrats to everyone, it was a great season! Whens the lotto?! :D Title: Re: Playoffs: Finals Finished Post by: GoldenStateGM on May 19, 2007, 12:23:19 PM Congrats to the Blazers!!!
