Title: With the 4th Pick
Post by: NetsGM on March 22, 2005, 07:48:32 PM
The Bulls select:
Emmanuel Griffin, C, St. Joseph's (I hadn't even noticed this about him until now, cool).

Yeah, I saw that he was from St Joes when I checked him out. A local boy, lol.

I'm happy with Griffin, he's the cornerstone of my franchise right now.

Griffin is the dark horse of this draft.
If his potential is legit, he should have been a top pick in this draft (if NJ was not set at the 4,5, I really think he would have gone #2).

I think, especially if he can be moved to the PF spot, Griffin could be the steal of the draft.  He has the skills and potential to become an absolute stud.

I think the Bulls would be better to keep the rookie at his natural position, and move Curry to PF.

Which, as I look at the Positional Changes, they did.

Griffin is good all around, with the potential to be great...  If his potential pans out, he is easily a franchise player.

Wow, a draft with 4 likely franchise players...  that is very impressive.   But you have to figure one of them wil not work out.  Who will it be??? lol

I think Tanner and Pettit are guarenteed, if one of the 4 don't pan out it will be either Ferry or Griffin.

I still don't know how I'm goin to work my rotation, right now I'm just experimenting with the positional changes.

It's a good idea. But I don;t think Players ratings change when they move, do they?

Because didn't someone move Kobe to C, and his defense stayed the same?

I think the ratings do change.

Oh, Aiight. My bad.

I think the defensive ratings change the most.  If Kobe moves to Center, his defense will suffer.

However, when a player is moved to a similar position (like when I moved Ben Wallace from c to pf) the ratings may not change as much, if at all.

Ahh, well, I thought we had a big discussion earlier about Kobe's A- defense as a 5.

I thought we had a discussion where Kobe's A- defense changes to C+ at center.

Well Curry seemed to do very well at the PF after I traded away Ben Gordan (I think he was averaging something like 18 ppg), so I do't think Curry will suffer too much if he gets moved.  Although he was the number one option on my team then...

BTW, can Griffins ratings go up (or down) during the training camp?  Or is the rating you drafted him at, the rating he stays with for his rookie season.

Yeha, his ratings can change.

Anyone and everyone has the possibility of changing this training camp.

Sweet, but if there was one player I would have improve this training, it would be Dunleavy.  I really hope he goes up a few points.

Yeah, wouldnt it be sweet if we got like 3 ratings changes, and got to use them?

some leagues do that.

No thanks.  Takes randomness from the game.  Also makes it easy to get superstars.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I could just turn Vince into an A+ outside AND A+ inside shooter.

Thats would never work, you could turn a decent starter to a superstar in a matter of 2-3 years.

Yeah, I wouldn't like it if we got to change the ratings ourselves. I like it better how it is.
