Title: Suns / Celtics deal
Post by: CelticsGM on May 02, 2007, 01:20:32 AM
Suns trade
Pavel Podkolzine

Celtics trade
Dirk Nowitzki
Travis Arizin
Jamal Sampson
$90

Celtics agree (despite not a single 2nd round pick being involved !!!)

Dirk will soley be missed but Pavel finally upgrades my C position with a legit sized defender. And while it hurts to lose the best project of my kiddie corpse, when he's ready to play the rest of my team will be playing in the senior's league.

btw, with my salaries adding to 8.3 mill and the Suns to 8.7 mill neither of us will close in on the hard cap.

Actually I may not have done myself a favor here, should i miss out on the playoffs. But hey, it's a chance I got to take. Sampson didn't get it done on either end lately, putting too much burden on Tyler. Neither Veen nor Tillis are close to being starters, and Strait is the perfect 6th man in my rotation.

So the foundation is here, let's make something out of it.

I think you made the right decision -- it's hard to improve if you're dead.
