Title: Nets - Warriors Trade Post by: NetsGM on April 21, 2007, 10:33:11 PM New Jersey Nets trade:
Harold Morey Lester Conner Al Wood to the Golden State Warriors for: Luol Deng 150 bucks. Nets agree. Had a nicer offer on Conner after I agreed to this one which is a shame. We had been negotiating for about a week on something bigger that fell apart when I got an offer I just liked better (woohoo, Bennett Fuqua is FINALLY a Net!!), and slid quite quickly into this agreement. Nice working with you Warriors. Now, I can use the cash to buy out Lenard which will help (I know that was quick and I admit I overspent :(), and I did want to take advantage of the chance to move out my excess guys who compromise my chance at cap space - it might be my last for a long time. Deng is a nice fit, in that he can play the 2 and 3, and bring a little more defensive intensity. I'll have to see how my new lineup plays best - with Bennett or Deng starting at the 3 with the other in a super-sub role, or maybe with both of them starting and Brooks being my 6th man - though he's really done nothing to deserve a demotion putting up nice numbers out of position. Pleasure dealing with you, Nets... Very trustworthy and honest GM... I am giving up cap space in this trade, but I really liked the way the Connor played in preseason sim 2. I think he can be the PG of the future for my squad... Warriors will be cutting Anthony McHale to make this trade work.
