Antonio Lenard Nets Trade: Tracy Bradley Reggie King 2021 Nets First Rounder $100 Title: Re: Raptors-Nets Strike A Deal Post by: NetsGM on April 01, 2007, 01:35:19 PM Raptors Trade: Nets agree. Lenard fills three important roles for me: 1) Veteran leadership, especially valuable to me since Finley and Robertson jumped ship; 2) a legitimate and respected scorer that will slide right into my offensive system; 3) He gives some of my younger potential scorers a little bit of breathing room to not be counted on too much before they are ready for it: Wood and Teagle will be beneficiaries of this, and it pushes Brooks and Macy down the scoring load ladder abit which should help.Antonio Lenard Nets Trade: Tracy Bradley Reggie King 2021 Nets First Rounder $100 Thanks to Reggie King for his valuable contributions over the past couple of years being a solid role player on a good team and never complaining. Tracy, see ya. And Antonio, keep it steady for a couple of years, OK? I don't need much - but I need you to not regress over the next two years. Finally, RapsGM. Nice working with you again, nice and easy. Enjoy your fine collection of Nets first round draft picks. Here's hoping they get you good players in the 20's at positions where I'm already set. Title: Re: Raptors-Nets Strike A Deal Post by: CelticsGM on April 01, 2007, 01:48:13 PM nice one for both teams.
Nets gave some depth to aquire a veteran, Raptors finally got SOMETHING for Antonio. The pick won't be too high but without Fin and Robertson I can't see the Nets competing (which makes the Lenard aquisition a bit odd) Title: Re: Raptors-Nets Strike A Deal Post by: NetsGM on April 01, 2007, 02:23:44 PM nice one for both teams. Pfft, Tom. Both guys came off the bench for me almost all of last year and I did fine - unless I don't know what you mean by competing. Nets gave some depth to aquire a veteran, Raptors finally got SOMETHING for Antonio. The pick won't be too high but without Fin and Robertson I can't see the Nets competing (which makes the Lenard aquisition a bit odd) I've replaced Finley with Zollner, who's younger and a little longer and just as productive; Lenard will give me the production that Robertson would have as an option; and Morey will give me more or the same as what King would have. The majority of my team remains young, so I see my team as being at least as good as last year and with another year under most of their young belts, probably better. Title: Re: Raptors-Nets Strike A Deal Post by: CelticsGM on April 01, 2007, 03:18:00 PM oops, forgot you traded for Mike (but up until sim 11 Finley OR Robertson did start for you). And you got a heck of a team now.
ok, so your pick will be mid 20ies, Taylor didn't play a second last year, and King is a defensive minded SF with little scoring ability. OUCH, Trev ... :bash: Title: Re: Raptors-Nets Strike A Deal Post by: RaptorsGM on April 01, 2007, 03:29:00 PM Traded a 33 year old with B- defense who has and will in all likelyhood continue to decline in both ratings and production for a 25 year old who if he does nothing other than maintain will be a starter for years to come given his defense and rebounding, and a first round pick.
You're gonna be hardpressed to explain to me how that doesn't make sense. Title: Re: Raptors-Nets Strike A Deal Post by: CelticsGM on April 01, 2007, 04:03:43 PM how a player with career numbers of 9ppg, 7rpg, (on 44%/71%/28% shooting) and no strong potential is a "starter for years" is beyond my knowledge (but i'm sure he was thoroughly scouted).
But apparently it beat anything I did offer over the last 2 seasons ... :-) Title: Re: Raptors-Nets Strike A Deal Post by: MavsGM on April 01, 2007, 04:06:30 PM Hey Tom, get it over with. Stop being bitter just because Raptors didn't trade you Lenard.

Title: Re: Raptors-Nets Strike A Deal Post by: NetsGM on April 01, 2007, 04:30:30 PM Hey Tom, get it over with. Stop being bitter just because Raptors didn't trade you Lenard. Seriously you two.... Title: Re: Raptors-Nets Strike A Deal Post by: RaptorsGM on April 01, 2007, 04:51:22 PM By "you two" do you mean Tom and I or Tom and Mavs?
If you have a problem with something I have said please PM me about it...I find "seriously you two" to be very condescending. Title: Re: Raptors-Nets Strike A Deal Post by: CelticsGM on April 01, 2007, 06:35:22 PM I'm not bitter. At this stage of his career I don't see Lenard any more difference maker than Dirk 2 seasons ago. Nice numbers but nobody to lift a franchise to a title.
I just like to discuss those things, and I don't see what's wrong with that. It's like every post: If you don't like it (and it doesn' personally offend you), just ignore it ... It's like every post: If you don't like it (and it doesn' personally offend you), just ignore it ... It's your consistent bringing up of your proposals. I agree with MavsGM when he says it sounds like whining. It may not be, but that's the way it comes off. Quote If you have a problem with something I have said please PM me about it...I find "seriously you two" to be very condescending. You guys consistently get into this kind of little back and forth. I was simply pointing that out. If that's condescending, eh, what can I do. |
