Title: Last Chance for the 5th pick Post by: RaptorsGM on March 20, 2005, 03:17:50 PM It's about to be traded away. This is your last chance to make an offer.
Title: Last Chance for the 5th pick Post by: NetsGM on March 20, 2005, 04:47:05 PM Antonio Daniels?
;) Title: Last Chance for the 5th pick Post by: RaptorsGM on March 20, 2005, 04:50:37 PM Lol. There are a few better PG's out there :)
Title: Last Chance for the 5th pick Post by: NetsGM on March 20, 2005, 04:51:24 PM if it wasn't for the age factor I'd say there's only 1 in the draft.
Title: Last Chance for the 5th pick Post by: RaptorsGM on March 20, 2005, 04:51:57 PM Yeah, well, that's why I'm going outside the draft to get my PG :)

I think both Ellis and Mercer are better than Daniels. Title: Last Chance for the 5th pick Post by: NetsGM on March 20, 2005, 05:29:48 PM I actually think Ellis is a bit overrated. Great all-around, but if his ballhandling, outside shooting and defense don't improve he's a bit weak in all 3 of the key pg areas to be great.
Title: Last Chance for the 5th pick Post by: CavsGM on March 20, 2005, 05:34:48 PM Well with his B potential he's likely to improve a fair amount.
Title: Last Chance for the 5th pick Post by: NetsGM on March 20, 2005, 05:36:38 PM True. He's a nice prospect, but I'm not sure he's a sure bet.
Title: Last Chance for the 5th pick Post by: RaptorsGM on March 20, 2005, 05:38:57 PM I think people just go drunk over all the B ratings.
But I do think he's the best PG in the draft. Title: Last Chance for the 5th pick Post by: NetsGM on March 20, 2005, 05:40:34 PM I disagree.
I think Mercer's the best pg prospect. I think people are too affected by size. I don't think it matters all that much at the pg position. I also like schenk, a whole lot. I'll call Mercer 1a), Ellis 1b) and Schenk 1c). I think they're all about equal, it just depends on team need. Remember, Shannon Brown had Ellis-like ratings, maybe just slightly better, with B potential. Then when TC time came, you know what happened... Title: Last Chance for the 5th pick Post by: RaptorsGM on March 20, 2005, 06:00:04 PM TC is just impossible to predict. That's the problem.

I'm not saying that it's sure to happen. Just that it's possible. Title: Last Chance for the 5th pick Post by: NetsGM on March 20, 2005, 06:33:10 PM TC can be a dicey proposition.
Anyone remember Samba Gueye? Drafted #4, A potential. Never improved on iota. There's the scouted vs. real potential. Then there's the randomness of if the guy actually improves with potential. There's just no guarantees. Ellis could be the best. Or he could not improve at all. We'll see. Title: Last Chance for the 5th pick Post by: RaptorsGM on March 20, 2005, 07:29:46 PM Ellis not improving is still ok though. He'd be a career 15-20 and 7-10 guy.

Without improving? I doubt that. After all was said and done, Shannon Brown had ratings of C+, A-, A-, A- and he averaged 17 and 9. Title: Last Chance for the 5th pick Post by: NetsGM on March 20, 2005, 09:11:07 PM It all depends on if he improves. If he goes the way of Brown, he could be great. If he goes the way of Gueye, he could be average. That's what makes things interesting.
Title: Last Chance for the 5th pick Post by: RaptorsGM on March 20, 2005, 09:18:02 PM It depends on what team he ends up on too.
Sam Cassell for the Wolves last year put up 16 and 10 For me I would expect maybe 12 and 11. |
