Get some nice depth on contracts that are manageable. This takes about $5.5mil away from my FA money, so I have to rethink my strategy and offers. Title: Re: Nuggets / Celtics trade Post by: CelticsGM on January 16, 2007, 05:15:22 PM the end of an aera. The last of the old (sucking) Celtics is gone.
Carlos was one of my first FA steals back in 2008 (actually he was signed by the Kings on my wish and later traded to me) when I saw him having a great first TC as undrafted free agent. Too bad I never had the scoring options besides him tomake him a fulltime starter at SG. I know he can hold people down there, but defense was never his problem. I can only imaging what a 6'8 SG could have done on offense ... but maybe, just maybe i only didn't give him too much chance to show his skills. Bye Vinnie, you never found your niche here. Good look in the mile high city, hope you can ressurect your career there ! And what did I get in return? Well, primarily cap space, which was badly needed after the Drik disaster. 5+ mio can only help come FA. Iba i don't expect to do much behind Chills and the pick is nice, if the Nuggets are bad again (which i doubt) all said, a cap deal from my side. 8) Title: Re: Nuggets / Celtics trade Post by: WizardsGM on January 16, 2007, 05:20:59 PM and the pick is nice, if the Nuggets are bad again (which i doubt) Thanks. I need to be better, I dont have my pick (it was traded for Purvis Short who was flipped into Bennett Fuqua....) Title: Re: Nuggets / Celtics trade Post by: KingsGM-old on January 16, 2007, 05:48:36 PM Carlos was one of my first FA steals back in 2008 Usually people with career numbers of 3.6ppg and 1.6apg are not considered as "steal" in any way, shape or form. Title: Re: Nuggets / Celtics trade Post by: BlazersGM on January 16, 2007, 06:05:47 PM .....except when it comes to CelticsGM
Title: Re: Nuggets / Celtics trade Post by: CelticsGM on January 16, 2007, 06:26:37 PM exactly ...
:lmao: (in fact, in this case "steal" relates to the huge ratings jump Carlos made from "C C C C+ D B" to "C B B- A- C- C" for a net gain of 11 rating points, which according to my statistics tops the league. Let's see if on the nuggets his production can follow ...) Title: Re: Nuggets / Celtics trade Post by: KingsGM-old on January 16, 2007, 06:46:38 PM You're right.
He went from 1.2ppg to 2.4 the next season. He was twice a better player! What a steal! Title: Re: Nuggets / Celtics trade Post by: BlazersGM on January 16, 2007, 06:57:47 PM well, looking at progress he has made i changed my mind now, indeed he was some type of a steal, judging from those C's coming to B B- A- is a good thing, he might not get a starter position and post more then 1.2ppg or 2.4ppg(he will of course, just kidding there) but for sure on 80 % of the teams he can be an excellent role player and on some even a starter.
Title: Re: Nuggets / Celtics trade Post by: KingsGM-old on January 16, 2007, 07:32:45 PM Well, you just got to love the guy who's capable of giving you 2.4ppg, 0.8apg, 1.0rpg on 16 minutes of action every night + all that on 31% from the floor!
Must have been a hard decision to trade him. |
