Spurs agree and now have something (2 second rounders) to keep my interest in the off season.

I like it too.

exchanging the Spurs 2nd this year, which will fall into the mid 50ies most likely, with the potential top 2nd rounder and another 2nd next year will keep me interested BEYOND the first round for sure.

Thou I still have no idea what kept the Spurs from taking the Kings 2nd for free ...

IMO second rounders are generally useless.  I just like to consolidate them in one year.  Also I needed a couple low salaries and wanted to dump my future seconds.

I currently have 8 players under contract for $65.5 mil next year.  I have 2 others I want to bring back that will take up most of my remaining hard cap space.

ok, ok, that's understandable.

But honestly, I'd rather have a #30 pick making $ 332.817 than a #55 pick making $332.817

I would also but not for free because then I would have had a 2018 pick and still would have had my 2019 & 2020 picks.  If Kings would have taken one of my future picks I would have done the deal.

Now I don't have to deal with second rounders again until the 2021 season.  And if I get lucky with potential playing out I can always extend the player to get bird rights.

that's what i did with Jerome Veen, who's mostly promise as of now, but I can see something pretty good looming behind all that C's ...

You should really write a book about 2nd rounders.
