Title: Sim 8 Up
Post by: NetsGM on December 07, 2006, 12:58:24 PM
Discuss.

Tough break for the Hornets.  He should be back in round 2 though.

They did manage to beat the Mavericks (the only team to beat the Mavericks in the last since day 41)

Nuggets went 3-2, holding opponents to under 100pts in 3 of 5 games

Lost to Sonics by 1.

Beat Grizz by 4. Doleac had 19/10 off the bench as Gminski was in foul trouble battling Maggette. The win is all that matters though

Beat Wolves by 1. 6 players with 11pts or more

Lost to Mavs by 12. Okafor, enough said.

Beat Raps by 3. Gminski 27/14

Went 0-5 in the first 5 days, not surprising with Carmelo and Arenas out those games.

2-2 in the others.  The East is so stacked that this sim dropped me from 5th to 9th.  Of course, everything's still in striking distance

Man, Magic is crazy. He's all over the court.

Injuries
Shaun Livingston Broken Skull 53

Wow, that sucks, my team has been on fire for the past few sims, including 5-1 this sim. I guess I'll see what Mangrum can do. I just signed a guy who looks like he can handle the ball a little bit (based on the 8 games he played last season); of course he has F+ defense  :?

What makes me feel a little better is that we crushed the 3 teams we faced even without Livingston. If it were Yao who was injured I would have my doubts about whether we would even make the playoffs. Right now I'm cautiously optimistic -- I even hold out hope that we can make up the three game lead the Cavs have.

Two 2 point losses in a 4-2 sim...The second one, coming against the sixers, was lost with a 19 point lead going into the 4th. And Adams went 8-18 from the line. But we held onto first, so that's good.

6-4 sim, Macy got the first extended minutes at PG of his young career and did not disappoint with a 3+:1 assist-to-turnover ratio. Nice. Mags is out for 7 games total, at the busiest and toughest part of our schedule - so that's a bit of a drag. Slipped into 8th spot, though there's four teams within a stones throw of my spot, making the injury very poorly timed. Even if it goes to pot, I'm still very encouraged by this season.

unstaisfied with the abysmal play of McCracken. Back as 12th man, young man.

0-4, worst sim of the season with mixed up DC but considering all games were on the road
against good teams (w/e of Pistons) and 2 games without Phelps i can get over it.

Game 1 @Jazz -23pts loss without Phelps, miserable 36 % FG and 14 % 3pt.

Game 2 @Pistons -9pts loss, team did well on offense but couldnt defend a shit.

Game 3 @Heat -5pts loss, balanced game but Heat killed me with 3 pointers.

Game 4 @Pacers -25pts loss, again Phelps went down, but Buehler had a fantastic game with
career high 35pts and adding 9 rebs 2stls and 3blks, still not enough at all as everyone
else played poorly and Pacers got their revenge for 38pts loss in previous sim.

Thank god Pacific is so pathetic and even Suns play bad so with a 50 % mark we're still holding #2 spot in West and hopefully with addition of Ty we'll keep it....however to stop the Mavs its gonna take a lot more.

Has anyone else noticed that the Midwest division has 4 of the top 6 records in the league?

Has anyone else noticed that the Pacific division is the most pathetic ever in the history of SSBA where Portland leads division in powerful way with amazing record of 28-28

When you can make the 8th spot in the conference with a 20-31 record (ala Sonics), something is up with that conference!
