Title: Clippers block Post by: ClippersGM-old on September 22, 2006, 05:30:11 PM I love Maggette. I just wish he gets a last chance on a great team to get another title. So give me an offer for this (still) great sg/sf. Last season he averaged 24 points and 7 rebounds, shooting great percentages. He will be a major boost to a title contender.
Expiring, young gun, good pick(s). Adding Perry and Havlicek to the list! Both are very good guards! :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: Title: Re: Corey Maggette Post by: CelticsGM on September 22, 2006, 07:44:15 PM too bad i got no picks
:-( Title: Re: Corey Maggette Post by: BlazersGM on September 22, 2006, 08:37:17 PM ill give you expirings, and 2nd
Title: Re: Corey Maggette Post by: ClippersGM-old on September 23, 2006, 10:58:33 AM ill give you expirings, and 2nd Well, Maggette already is expiring. So that is not the problem. The reason why I ask for expiring is to match the salaries. But I am looking for something with that of course. And although I know that Maggette is not getting younger, you offer me ONE VERY LOW 2ND ROUND DRAFT PICK FOR A 25PPG PLAYER who will give your team a big time boost???!!!! Wow. I thought I had received bad offers for Brand and co, but this is it! Title: Re: Corey Maggette Post by: ClippersGM-old on September 23, 2006, 11:04:42 AM You know, trade offers in this league sometimes drive me nuts. I must definitely agree that whenever I make an offer, I also try and make my team better. That of course is the whole idea of trading! But still I always take a look at the other GM's team. And so I try not to insult him.
Eventhough Brand, Maggette and co were all 30+, they are all still great for playoff teams. They can bring you that title when your team is close but missing one piece. You should have seen some of the offers I received!! On those days I wonder if I still want to be in the league. YOU GOTTA GIVE TO GET! I can honestly say that I was more pleased with Chandler and Gordon not re-signing so that they could choose themselves where they went to instead of me trading them to another team for a crap offer that won't help my team anyway. I hope all of the Clipper Champions (Brand, Chandler, Kwame, Gordon, Maggette, Perry,...) retire soon. They had a great carreer and I thank them for that. I will now start over. It won't take too long before the Clippers are back where they belong... on top of the Western Conference. (note: 'not too long' for me is a couple seasons. I take my time to build and have a team gel. I know other GM's think of not too long as in a couple sims when they start trading like crazy.)
