Title: Sim 1 Discussion
Post by: ClippersGM-old on September 22, 2006, 05:29:07 PM
I know I am very early.

But this should be fun. The face of the Clippers powerhouse has totally changed into a rebuilding one. Long time ticketholders probably won't like what they will see this season. It looks like it's going to be very ugly. Although we are looking at a couple sparks.

I love Maggette. I just wish he gets a last chance on a great team to get another title. So give me an offer for this (still) great sg/sf. Last season he averaged 24 points and 7 rebounds, shooting great percentages. He will be a major boost to a title contender.

I don't know why, but i have a very good feeling about this team. Off course, this is just a begining, the majority of the players i've signed will be traded for picks anyway but i'll do my best to make that pick of mine owned by the Warriors worthless as can be.

cant wait ! sim 1 will also show me if i shall play Phelps as 6th man or as a starter with Buehler on bench. I gave him chance to start, if he does bad, Buehler is back and Phelps will act as my 6th man all season.

Pretty excitied to start my title defense...with pretty much the same team as last year, I think I can have a pretty good year.

I have a very young team. Sadly they didnt show me anything in TC therefore I dont have high expectations.

I have extremely high hopes for the upcoming season. I would be disappointed if my team isn't a top 4 seed. All I can do is wait and see...

Happy with a 5-3 sim, Wooden down for 3 sims, Vinnie Johnson, my rookie, had a good sim but boy does he like to shoot and I have no other PG on my roster, it looks like Vinnie is the Hawks starting PG for a while.

WOW! I feel I am overachieving at 4-4 but very happy with the way my guys are playing.

QUENTIN BRAND! All the haters out there, putting up a respectable 7.4ppg, 8.4reb and 2.4 blocks in 30min. If he could increase his FG% from 31% (ugly!) he could be much better.

2nd year player Zack Profit 2nd in scoring with 33.8 per game.

2nd year PG Mike Evans, who I acquired in the much maligned Alphonse Butler deal (who is doing much worse mind you) is putting up a nice line of 17.1ppg 6.4reb 9.4ast - like a young Jason Kidd.

1st round pick Raul Doleac showing some game with 11.8ppg and 7.8reb.

New Nuggets block to follow this post.

nice. only unbeaten team at 5-0.

Dirk really kicks some ass at age 36 scoring 23ppg on 60% shooting from the field and the 3pt stripe. Marion with 18ppg on 55% (and 75% from triple land !!!).
PG Trump leads the league in A/TO ratio with 10.6/1.4

Let'S see what I can do withou the Matrix next sim.

Are you kidding me?  Kyle Dial B- C 5th in the league in scoring with 27.4ppg, today is not April 1.

HAHAHA...  My team fucking blows...  79.3 PPG, 15.2 toPG, 37.9 FG%...  Oh well...

5-1 for the Hornets. I might have to tinker with my SF/SG rotation, but otherwise I am very pleased with this team, particularly with Al Rousseau, who's putting up 3.3 blocks in only 23 minutes.
Also, we're sharing the ball remarkably well, with 31 per game.

4-4...but im feeling good with my team :) just lost to some tough competition... im scoring 106.5pg and holding opponents down to 97.8 ppg...which is a good sign...

two words...Kyle Dial.

Highly unexpected...I knew he'd be good, but not 27ppg good, but that's not even the beginning he's also getting 12rpg 2-3apg, 1 spg, and 2-3 bpg.

My guess is that his stats even out a little in the next couple of sims, but I am very happy....getting rid of larry hughes and kirilenko is already paying off 2 seasons later and the bulk of the deal hasn't came to fruition yet til the end of this season. Dial is the scorer this team DESPERATELY needed, who would have known that a team averaging 89 points per game could be 5-2...are you kidding me?

Nothing else too exciting, except hardy is getting me 2.3 spg...

Wow...and the Pistons are 0-6, scoring only 79 ppg.

I really don't think I can maintain a record like this for the season, but it definately gives me excitement for next year.

4-3 start, a lot less then expected, 6 games at home, but im really really really realyl happy with this sim, because it absolutely showed me the direction this team needs to go, who shall be 1-3 options, what kind of game shall be played, im acutally very happy, if i went some expecting 6-1 i wouldnt see those things, like this, i know exactly what to do and how to put this team to play, i hope moving Boozer from C to PF where he lost both defense and rebs didnt have much influence, he did fine putting 20/11, but still i'll move his ratings back, and i'll change options............and then we shall kick ass :D

cant wait for next sim

2-5 sim for me.. Still can't get over John Tyler   :bods: :bods:

On the brightside..
Bolinger is averaging almost double double with his scoring and assists (9.9apg)
Julius Erving proves that he is the franchise player of this team.
John Unseld is helping Barner carry the load with his rebounding and shotblocking. (8rpg 2bpg)
Goudin proves that he is the second comming of Primo Brezec.  :D
Juan Ward is still one of the most efficient player in the team.

Thats all for now.. Can't wait for the next sim when I put a 16ppg player in the rotation.

true, but for 8 million a year??? I think you could easily sign an MLE player with that stats. sorr.y. :D

yes, we're 5-1. haha. not to mention averaging 117 ppg :(

also, I find things amusing that when I don't have my pick, my team was abysmal, but now, which is somehow the same or even worse because lo is better than rubini, everything really works really fine. but who's to complain. my team is doing good. even carson cervi lit up a team shooting 75% with 20 points and 19minutes.

also some surprisng developments. last year's top 4 -- Pacers -- started with 0-4. too bad lenard didn't have much power to save his team.

Well... it finally happened!

O'Connell has gone down injured... 42 days with a broken Leg... can Crawford step up to start..? sure! can the team win without O'Connell .... nope!

1-7 Worst case scenario, well not quite... we won 1!

Well, the Warriors played suprisingly well, going 6-3.  I thought this team would be a bottom 5 team, but they are proving me wrong.
One thing they can do is rebound. 55.9 rpg, and only 48.9 orpg.

Jim Finley played very well, and showed off his new B+ rebounding, to the tune of 13.9 rpg.

Luol Deng did the same, pulling down 7.8 rpg from the SF position.

Uncle Cliffy played very well, almost averaging a double double, and shooting a high percentage.

Andre showed that it i tough to guard him at the PG spot.

BTW, it looks like the Clips officially screwed me, by not resigning Gordon or Chandler...

Ronnie Brewer, another sim like that, and you may be benched!!!!
