Title: Re: Day 1 FA Results Post by: BlazersGM on September 18, 2006, 12:07:13 PM seems like Mr.Bosh wants more money, bastard !! Kings did nice job with getting still "young" and non-fictional Ty and Ben
now if they get Gilbert also, ill just go and kill myself (something i might have done before FA better so i dont have to watch this). :bash: Title: Re: Day 1 FA Results Post by: NetsGM on September 18, 2006, 12:08:53 PM Lots of movement. That clippers team is hurtin right now. It was the wrong year for the Kings to have cap room, considering they were all real players :D
Title: Re: Day 1 FA Results Post by: WizardsGM on September 18, 2006, 12:14:45 PM Excited to have the size of Brand join my squad. He will be moved to Centre.
Title: Re: Day 1 FA Results Post by: BlazersGM on September 18, 2006, 12:17:04 PM Excited to have the size of Brand join my squad. He will be moved to Centre. so size does matter after all ? :D i think he's overpaid a bit Title: Re: Day 1 FA Results Post by: WizardsGM on September 18, 2006, 12:20:22 PM I agree, its quite a bit. But its my first FA here and it seems many many people are overpaid. So I thought I had to offer high. He was really the only young big man that I would consider signing long term and I wanted to get him.
Title: Re: Day 1 FA Results Post by: MavsGM on September 18, 2006, 12:21:51 PM Filled my three roster spot on day one. Now, I need to make a cut to use my MLE. :lol2:
Title: Re: Day 1 FA Results Post by: MavsGM on September 18, 2006, 12:23:41 PM Supersonics Sign PF John Tyler away from the Sixers. Winner of day one.
Title: Re: Day 1 FA Results Post by: PacersGM on September 18, 2006, 01:28:09 PM Excited to have the size of Brand join my squad. He will be moved to Centre. way overpaid. Brand is just horrible. he never got more than MLE here and that should say something about him. Great addition for sonics not sure if sixers even send an offer? glad i could fill a need for a big on FA day 1 Title: Re: Day 1 FA Results Post by: KingsGM-old on September 18, 2006, 01:29:09 PM Quote It was the wrong year for the Kings to have cap room, considering they were all real players Very Happy Yeah baby! Warriors (who have my pick) and Clips are not going to be happy. :P Quote Supersonics Sign PF John Tyler away from the Sixers. Winner of day one. Damn, i wanted him. And that Vice guy from the Wolves. I've offered much, much more. Beats me. Quote Nuggets Sign PF Quentin Brand for $45,549,128 over 5 years. What?! That 2nd rn bum gets all that money?? I had him on my team 2 seasons ago. I've cut him or something like that. LOL. Title: Re: Day 1 FA Results Post by: WizardsGM on September 18, 2006, 01:33:34 PM Brand is 26 and A- defence. C+ rebounding isnt great but could be worse. He will get a chance to play on my young team.
You guys have to remember this is my first offseason with your league and everyone else in the league is way overpaid so I had to guess the market. I mean I had Luke Jackson last year with a $17mil salary...LUKE JACKSON. Title: Re: Day 1 FA Results Post by: KingsGM-old on September 18, 2006, 02:11:47 PM Lol, West is one big pile of trash. The weakest ever.
Title: Re: Day 1 FA Results Post by: RaptorsGM on September 18, 2006, 02:45:14 PM Very happy to have retained the services of Curtis Sura. He'll continue to play well as backup for Max.
Title: Re: Day 1 FA Results Post by: CavsGM on September 18, 2006, 03:37:44 PM Well I accomplished my main goal by re-signing Adams and Gomes to nice contracts. Now I just gotta get someone solid with the MLE.
Title: Re: Day 1 FA Results Post by: GoldenStateGM on September 18, 2006, 03:54:07 PM Yeah baby! Warriors (who have my pick) and Clips are not going to be happy. :P Still a lottery team... although I really wish the Clipers had kept those 2 :) Title: Re: Day 1 FA Results Post by: SonicsGM on September 18, 2006, 04:37:48 PM Pleasantly surprised to land John Tyler, who is just hitting his prime.
Did the sixers even offer a contract to the former number one overall pick? Title: Re: Day 1 FA Results Post by: ClippersGM-old on September 18, 2006, 05:08:21 PM There we go... kinda what I expected. I was accused in djsl for overpaying to re-sign players. And so here I was not so crazy with the contracts and see what happens.
Anyway, I guess this means the end of a great era for the Clippers and we will start to rebuild for the future. So start offering me trades with young guns and lottery picks. Although I dont have much to offer now :) I do have Brand who will make a playoff team turn around into a big time title contender!!! Title: Re: Day 1 FA Results Post by: MavsGM on September 18, 2006, 05:21:31 PM Are you the GM of Sonics in DJSL?
Title: Re: Day 1 FA Results Post by: CelticsGM on September 18, 2006, 05:26:51 PM strange FA. I haven't seen that many day 1 signings in a long time.
I'm happy getting my young guns back for a fair price. Both on 4yr deals (since this is my timeframe with the current squad) and by shelving out a tad too much for (starting) PG Trump (and don't tell me Tower is overpaid. Sure he has shown NOTHING so far in this league but his ratings keep improving and improving. +10 since he came into the league. So some day he WILL have his break out game) too bad i lost Bibby to the Heat, not that i wanted him back but his nice expiring would have brought some backup to Beantown (note to Bibby: "hey, dumbo, great idea signing a LLE on day 1 ... in your final season ! Probably the worst move in your career, even beats not retiring before last season and avoiding the embarrassement of watching you play ...") not done now, still some 12mio to spend ... 8) Title: Re: Day 1 FA Results Post by: CelticsGM on September 18, 2006, 05:29:21 PM Are you the GM of Sonics in DJSL? ouch, now that is by far the worst insult possible ... :lmao: you really think, a guy maxing out Petro, Pietrus, Reggie Evans and now Wade and Odom would get/keep a team from bods ? Title: Re: Day 1 FA Results Post by: SixersGM on September 18, 2006, 05:59:43 PM Pleasantly surprised to land John Tyler, who is just hitting his prime. Did the sixers even offer a contract to the former number one overall pick? YES I DID! I really don't know why he didn't resign. I offered the max for seven years! Title: Re: Day 1 FA Results Post by: BlazersGM on September 18, 2006, 06:05:54 PM Are you the GM of Sonics in DJSL? ouch, now that is by far the worst insult possible ... :lmao: you really think, a guy maxing out Petro, Pietrus, Reggie Evans and now Wade and Odom would get/keep a team from bods ? :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: Title: Re: Day 1 FA Results Post by: NetsGM on September 18, 2006, 06:43:12 PM sonicsGM would NEVER have a place in this league. The guy's the definition of an immature ass.
Title: Re: Day 1 FA Results Post by: BlazersGM on September 18, 2006, 06:51:44 PM hahahahahhahaahha, imagine CavsGM from DJSL then :D
Title: Re: Day 1 FA Results Post by: KingsGM-old on September 18, 2006, 07:43:30 PM sonicsGM would NEVER have a place in this league. The guy's the definition of an immature ass. Just a terrible guy. Title: Re: Day 1 FA Results Post by: NetsGM on September 18, 2006, 08:12:34 PM Sonics is worse, by far.
and I just checked from the save file from before I ran the sim. John Tyler had a bid of 105.4 million over 7 years from the 76ers. He just decided to go elsewhere. Title: Re: Day 1 FA Results Post by: SonicsGM on September 19, 2006, 02:31:15 AM John Tyler had a bid of 105.4 million over 7 years from the 76ers. He just decided to go elsewhere. I guess he can see some potential with this squad. Title: Re: Day 1 FA Results Post by: SixersGM on September 19, 2006, 04:09:24 AM This is the FIRST TIME EVER.. I saw someone walk away from a team which has he's BIRD RIGHTS and has a BETTER OFFER. FIRST TIME...
Anyway.. I am left with two options after this.. One, to quit the league. Two, I will try to trade my whole team and rebuild again. I'll opt for number two for now. Send your PMs. Title: Re: Day 1 FA Results Post by: ClippersGM-old on September 19, 2006, 07:06:12 AM hahaha, no, i am warriorsgm in djsl. there i was told that i overpaid for sidoti and pondextor. well, i have different ideas.
Are you the GM of Sonics in DJSL? Title: Re: Day 1 FA Results Post by: KingsGM-old on September 19, 2006, 07:24:00 AM This is the FIRST TIME EVER.. Title: Re: Day 1 FA Results Post by: MagicGM on September 19, 2006, 07:24:53 AM I'm not surprised to see Quentin Brand get signed at least 8 million per year. I'm shocked. No way is he even worth the MLE, IMO. He's a chopstick that could block a lick even for a 7'3. ust look at his averages on 2011 when he started for my team.

Send your PMs. c'mon, don't overreact. You lost ONE player, that has happened to other teams before. Sure, Tyler was instrumental to you contending, but you're still a pretty good team now. And let me go even further. Would you really call a guy averaging 13/11 on 44% shooting (including 20% from 3pt and 56% from the line) a FRANCHISE player ? Cause you acted like you just lost one. Sure, he may get better, but he's 27 already and entering his 5th season, so he better start that quickly ... :bash: Title: Re: Day 1 FA Results Post by: CelticsGM on September 19, 2006, 07:52:58 AM I'm not surprised to see Quentin Brand get signed at least 8 million per year. I had the experience a year later. Nice one-dimensional injury insurance. And the prototypical token white guy at the end of the bench ... ;-) Title: Re: Day 1 FA Results Post by: KingsGM-old on September 19, 2006, 07:59:49 AM Sure. You're well known for piling garbage that no one wants.
Title: Re: Day 1 FA Results Post by: PacersGM on September 19, 2006, 09:21:10 AM Sure. You're well known for piling garbage that no one wants. and promote them to the best player he ever had at that position and if no one bids overpay for them :lmao: Title: Re: Day 1 FA Results Post by: WizardsGM on September 19, 2006, 09:31:50 AM This is the FIRST TIME EVER.. I've stole Kevin Mchale and Othis Thorpe from the Celtics although they've offered more money. Seen that before, just not in this legaue.

And even with him on my team, I can't hardly content. What more if he is already not on my team? I doubt I can find any kind of replacement for Tyler. I just have too much emotion right now, a mixed of anxiety and anger. So sorry if Im acting like this.. Sixers is on the block right now.. Bibby isnt as dumb as you think :D he is playing for the title in his last year ...just like wat gary payton did for the HEAT last season 8):D Title: Re: Day 1 FA Results Post by: NetsGM on September 19, 2006, 12:03:31 PM John Tyler's nice, but this talk of him destroying any plans is a little overboard IMO. In fact, I think he's probably overpaid as a max player who's never really been worthy of one at 27 years of age. He's certainly replacable, and with the amount of scoring you have on the team, it's really just the defense and rebounding you're looking to replace.
and yeah, definitely look to buy out the last few years of Quentin Brand's contract. You're new, and learning the salary structure of the league. But for future reference, there's no way a guy who has averaged 16 mpg his career in 8 years is going to command a multi-year deal, much less one starting at 8 million per. Definitely learn from this and move on. Quote I mean I had Luke Jackson last year with a $17mil salary...LUKE JACKSON. Of course, Luke Jackson averaged 19 ppg the year he got that contract. And has had seasons of 19.6 ppg, 16.8 ppg, and 14.5 ppg with A- defense. Brand probably wouldn't have gotten more than the MLE, and that's the key to free agency. Title: Re: Day 1 FA Results Post by: WizardsGM on September 19, 2006, 12:07:40 PM I will just keep hoping for a miracle in TC. Even if his rebounding goes up 1 rating that will be nice. I plan to start him regardless, hopefully he can keep himself on the court long enough to get a couple blocks per game and play nice defence.
Title: Re: Day 1 FA Results Post by: CelticsGM on September 19, 2006, 01:21:56 PM Bibby isnt as dumb as you think :D he is playing for the title in his last year ...just like wat gary payton did for the HEAT last season 8):D not sure I understand why he signed with the Heat then ? ;-) Title: Re: Day 1 FA Results Post by: Str8westcoasta on September 19, 2006, 01:38:40 PM Very happy to get Al Harrington.
IF he doesn't drop in camp, he could be a great addition to my squad! |
