$60 To Phoenix Kings 2016 second #31 Overall Title: Re: Kings/Suns Post by: KingsGM-old on September 07, 2006, 03:30:36 PM To Sacramento $60 To Phoenix Kings 2016 second #31 Overall Oh no, i can see another 7 pages of troubles. Kings agree. Title: Re: Kings/Suns Post by: GoldenStateGM on September 07, 2006, 04:23:40 PM Oh no, i can see another 7 pages of troubles. Kings agree. Well, at least you have the understanding as to why... Title: Re: Kings/Suns Post by: Iverson2Korver43 on September 07, 2006, 05:09:10 PM Ha, you got a better offer for your 2nd than you did for your 1st... And the 1st round pick got the celtics a 12-15 PPG scorer... There must be a 20 PPG scorer I am not seeing...
Title: Re: Kings/Suns Post by: KingsGM-old on September 07, 2006, 05:12:17 PM Ironic, isn't it?
Title: Re: Kings/Suns Post by: GoldenStateGM on September 07, 2006, 05:56:45 PM Ironic, isn't it? Nope... Not by any sense of the definition... Unless you are speaking of the Allanis Morissette definition... Title: Re: Kings/Suns Post by: KingsGM-old on September 07, 2006, 06:02:18 PM And why not?
Title: Re: Kings/Suns Post by: BlazersGM on September 07, 2006, 07:14:47 PM ahhh, just quit it, otherwise its gonna be another 58 pages chapter about this one :)
Title: Re: Kings/Suns Post by: GoldenStateGM on September 07, 2006, 11:01:13 PM And why not? S: (n) sarcasm, irony, satire, caustic remark (witty language used to convey insults or scorn) "he used sarcasm to upset his opponent"; "irony is wasted on the stupid"; "Satire is a sort of glass, wherein beholders do generally discover everybody's face but their own"--Jonathan Swift S: (n) irony (incongruity between what might be expected and what actually occurs) "the irony of Ireland's copying the nation she most hated" S: (n) irony (a trope that involves incongruity between what is expected and what occurs) Title: Re: Kings/Suns Post by: KingsGM-old on September 08, 2006, 07:22:55 AM Um...you need definitions from the books for this simple example?
I traded my first rn pick for nothing and it's caused a stir on 5 pages. Day later i traded my 2nd rn pick for 50$. You don't see the irony in that? Ok...lol. Title: Re: Kings/Suns Post by: CelticsGM on September 08, 2006, 07:51:53 AM not, i don't want to stir more controversy, but haven't most of us agreed some time ago that a very early 2nd rounder is much more valueable than a late 1st rounder?
You get roughly the same talent at a much cheaper and shorter contract. There is a difference between irony, stupidity, and just bad luck... This affair is not ironic... :D Title: Re: Kings/Suns Post by: Iverson2Korver43 on September 08, 2006, 11:01:11 AM not, i don't want to stir more controversy, but haven't most of us agreed some time ago that a very early 2nd rounder is much more valueable than a late 1st rounder? Title: Re: Kings/Suns Post by: CelticsGM on September 08, 2006, 11:07:18 AM Tyson Thurmond ?
Title: Re: Kings/Suns Post by: SpursGM-old on September 08, 2006, 11:39:16 AM Quote Tyson Thurmond ? Who was drafted #28.... Title: Re: Kings/Suns Post by: KingsGM-old on September 08, 2006, 11:53:36 AM There is a difference between irony, stupidity, and just bad luck... He said 27 of 29 GMs didn't realize that there is a top15 talent available, so it must be pick #28, right?
Or he's referring to my 2nd rounder post. Then look at recent drafts again. Everything below #10-15 was always a tossup and more likely didn't produce anything valueable. So I guess I'm not the only one preferring that risk rather on a 2yr contract for #30-32 than on a 4yr deal for #27-29 btw, the 1yr extension costs $300 to get the player bird years ... if he's any good, whereas the buyout to let him expire after 2 yrs costs $450 ... if he's no good. ;-) Title: Re: Kings/Suns Post by: Iverson2Korver43 on September 08, 2006, 01:27:14 PM Tyson Thurmond ? What the hell are you talking about??? That must be a smart ass question since you know damn well who I am talking about... It seems as if only you and Pacers realized bods made a mistake... Which with my count is somewhere around 2 of 29 GM's... After I do a little Subrtraction I get this: 29-2=27... I know I am no math wizard, but it seems right... Title: Re: Kings/Suns Post by: KingsGM-old on September 08, 2006, 02:00:23 PM Yeah, i thought so. Meaningless 2nd rn trade will turn into 7 pages of arguing. I should change my username.
Title: Re: Kings/Suns Post by: GoldenStateGM on September 08, 2006, 04:03:41 PM Um...then i apologize for not being so smart like you. Apology accepted :roll: Following my Allanis Morissete reference, lines from the song Ironic... It's like rain on your wedding day (not ironic... just sucks, although in soe cultures it is good luck) It's a free ride when you've already paid (not ironic, just terrible luck) It's the good advice that you just didn't take (not ironic, just stupidity) 1000 spoons when all you need is a knife (Only ironic statement in the song) Title: Re: Kings/Suns Post by: KingsGM-old on September 08, 2006, 04:09:21 PM Ha! Yeah...but i don't listen to Allanis.

I know I am no math wizard, but it seems right... *lol* I really had no idea what you were referring to. But maybe it was just me and Pacers because I had to do some scouting for the #22 pick (and he for the #26) and wasn't to happy that this "nobody will draft that guy" was ahead of the remeining prospects on my list. I'm not so sure on Bailey Frahm though. Mediocre defense and even worse rebounding don't promise greatness, even at SG, but a scoring role player will do too. But i woulnd't wonder if Sly, the garbage man, can follow his NBA success here and become more than a sidekick in a few years. Mostly depending where his potential carries him ... Title: Re: Kings/Suns Post by: GoldenStateGM on September 08, 2006, 04:55:14 PM Ha! Yeah...but i don't listen to Allanis. I have not for quite a while... But a friend and I did find it very ironic that a song titled "Ironic" had almost no ironies in it whatsoever... That, my friend, is excellent irony :) |
