Title: Who had the best season (trades)?
Post by: HornetsGM on March 04, 2005, 01:05:10 AM
who made the best moves this season?
I have two teams: Pistons, Sixers. I don't think either team made a bad move...

Thank you HornetsGM, i really appreciate that...  Especially since it's my 1st sim league...

Anyways, I think that Jazz have done a really good job at building a quality team...  As his players develop, i think they could become contenders...  Only bad thing i see on his roster is J. Kidd's contract, but if he stays healthy and puts up good numbers then i don't see it as a problem for his team...

Thanks for the compliment, HornetsGM.

I think that i made 2 good deals, which are not in the category of "rape" deals.

THe TD deal first looks like a rape, but with Daly being one of the top 5 centers in the league. It all did make sense, specially with my 06 and 08's 1st rounder + G-rob's expiring.

The second deal, way made just to give my team some depth. I traded expirings for guys who are merely supporting cast and not so good contracts.

I felt that both my trades did mold my team in the exact team I want the sixers to be. A team with 2 superstars and a bunch of good supporting cast, and it would all be done without trading AI. Sounds like the real sixers team eh? :D

Anyway, for me, it would be the raps GM.
This guy has been sending hundred dollar bills to GMs via postmail.  JK :D

Thanks :)

I made a questionable deal with the Mavs one, but I REFUSE to call it a bad deal, because Finley is giving me good minutes, and I used Pavel along with Bosh to get Mihm AND a lottery pick. :)

Sorry raptors, you got robbed.

You can console yourself by thinking that Finley's helping you squeak into the playoffs in the horrible east, but I don't think that's anyone's ultimate goal ;)

I took the Raps off of my short list b/c of that one trade. The Raps probably had the top 2 deals this season though.

I also considered the Jazz and Heat. The Heat turned D-Wade and EJ into Marion and Q-Rich. That's impressive.
I really liked the Hughes deal for the Jazz. I tried to get him from the Lakers but my offer wasn't good enough.

Finley is part of that 40 million in expiring contracts I have next year. I'm targetting 4 players, all C/PF's.

With Pavel I got a lottery draft pick, which could very well land me a better C than Hoffa.

I still like that trade very much.

I turned KVH, Mike James and Toni Kukoc into Rasheed Wallace, Andre Iguodala, Kenny Thomas and Clifford Robinson.  So I'd say I had a successful season in terms of trading.
