This falls under the "not allowed to trade a future undefined pick" ruling, for a few reasons. 1) it would create a nightmare to keep track of. 2) It would create an opportunity for teams to back out of it. End of story. Trading $ for $ (in this case, no money) with no other consideration won't be allowed. Title: Cavs/Wizards Trade - won't work. Title: Cavs/Wizards Trade - won't work. Post by: HornetsGM on April 18, 2006, 11:48:23 AM I don't know, it seems to me that the easy loophole is just to throw 2nds around and keep track of it outside of the commissioner's workings.
Would that be disallowed as well? Title: Cavs/Wizards Trade - won't work. Post by: NetsGM on April 18, 2006, 01:14:14 PM Quote Umm, we're friends, so we trust each other I couldn't care less how well you know each other. It's all about precedent, and this would be a terrible one to set. Hornets: there's no way to stop this in all forms, but I will stop the most egregious examples. Just know that doing this opens yourself up to being screwed. |
