What was the purpose of this trade?

Agreed i held out until he threw in a 1st. That doesnt make the loss of mine so bad. Sure Mihm is a solid center for cheap, but in the last three weeks i made him my second scoring option which made his ppg go up by a lot. I dont think he should be a second option on any team, so his stats got all fattened up. They actually went from like 10 points 8 boards to 16 points 10 boards. I get two young prospects in bosh and pavel. Bosh i think can be a superstar and pavel will be servicable. Walton i dont really care about.

Yeah, he held out, kudos to him. I couldn't let this slip through my fingers, so I had to add the Kings first.

He gave me some story about some team offering him a 20/10 young guy, which may or may not be true.

I actually wanted out from Pavel's contract, as strange as that sounds. His contract is 4 years long, and I just want to completely rebuild my team.

This was all about the draft pick for me. Right now it's 8th, and I cant see it climbing any higher.

Bosh is a loss, but i can cut my losses. Mihm's defense and rebounding are great.

There are 2 more Raptors deals to follow this.

well, you know my opinion since I was offering up Boozer for pretty much the same thing (except without the pick).  I don't think Pavel will be anything, and Bosh is alright, but will probably never put up what Mihm is.

So there WAS a 20/10 guy after all. :)

Yeah, I really think this was great. Bosh is allrigt, but I don't like the idea of him being just 6'10, 210. That's just too small.

Mihm is great, but the pick should land me another great big man.

Hey, I'm happy.

just to clarify, when I say without the pick, I mean without me including a pick, but getting back the lakers pick.

and yes, he wasn't bluffing :)

I figured he wasnt. I was gonna be PISSED if someone stole this trade from me. Not at anyone, just pissed in general.

This trade is the reason I backed out of the KMart sweepstakes.

Haha nets gm. You forgot to mention i had to give a fat 14 million dollar expiring deal as well which would have foiled my postseason plans.

Yes, but I was giving up back over 6 million in expiring deals.

It essentially, after all the contracts, came down to Boozer's 9 million replacing Mihm's 3.5 million.  After this year the only 2 contracts still on the teams would have been Boozer and Mihm.  The difference you were taking on was only the 6.5 million difference in their contracts.

Nets, thank GOd you can't talk him out of it now...

you might have had the better offer. Good thing i "gave in" with the Kings first.

the reason i did this deal instead of the nets one, i would have only had 6.5 million in cap room if i did the nets deal and my other deal leaving me with holes at the 3 and 5. I certainly would have gotten the best player, but this deal gave me a shot for the better team. I now have 4 young players starting with a lot of cap room to throw a max offer at a 3 or 4 seeing as how i think bosh can play either.

Oh i dont deny you had the better offer netsgm, but i mean do you understand where im coming from on the better team thing? I mean I can make a max offer to a 3 or 4 which this years FA pool is absolutely full of. I mean theres pau randolph chandler ak47 rj shard. Chandler is putting up damn good numbers. I mean now i have something like arroyo wade Bosh? Bosh? Pavel. Then the next offseason i have 10 more million coming off the cap through vlade and atkins to fill any holes i may have. With the nets deal i really didnt have that flexibility. I would have had question marks at the 3 and 5 with only 6.5 million to solve those problems. Im think i made the right decision in order to make my team better as a whole.

Not bad. I hope there are some big players that don't re-sign to make a good free agency.

Pavel isn't a quality starter, IMO.

His shooting precentage is terrible for a 5.

And Bosh ONLY had GOOD SIMS when I slowed my pace to a crawl, and looked for him Inside.

Mihm is probably going to enjoy only a short stay here. I might look to move him for a top-5 draft pick THIS YEAR even.

Title: Raptors/Lakers Trade - processed
Post by: NetsGM on February 23, 2005, 04:45:43 PM
You wouldn't have had room for a max free agent, no.

But you cutting 2.5 million in salary for next year, plus taking on Borchardt and Arroyo was your decision.

And you won't get anyone as good as Boozer in free agency.  Everyone that good will re-sign with their team most likely, and everyone and their mother has cap room this year.

And I don't think Pavel is a starter either.

But, it's your call.  I think you made the wrong one, but it's your call.

I'm GLAD you made the wrong one. :)

I thought this deal was done mon night. Then tues night. Now ed you almost ruin everything for me. :)

Another questionable deal for the Lakers. Mihm for the package raps gave him was already lopsided, then lakers added his lottery, then its simply ridiculous. Bosh, like wade, is a completely different player in this sim. GMs should realize that the sim league and the real NBA are 2 completely different worlds. The best thing bosh and wade can be are complimentary players.

For the raps, kudos!

Thank you. Perhaps my Kings and Lakers trade make up for me falling on my face with the Mavs.

Well, I don't think Bosh is going to be bad.  I agree he'll likely never be THE man, but he should be very good.  If he develops, 18/9 or 20/10 isn't out of the question.

I've run FBB a couple times, and every time Bosh never goes up in weight (210) and goes to B potential after the first training camp, but his rebounding and scoring dont change..

I broke this trade down as:

Pavel
Kings pick (2oish)

for Mihm

AND

Bosh

for a lottery pick and Walton.

I can bet my 1st rounder that he wont be that good.

You can run FBB a million times and never get the same results.  Even if all the attributes are exactly the same.  And they aren't.  Everytime you create a game there's randomization of the attributes.

I know, but with his ratings and his capabilities, i doubt he would be a 20/10 player.

anyone remember chris mihm from the last fbb?  B- inside and B rebounding and he put up 25/12 or something ridiculous.

You mean, my MIHM?! :D

Tell me what are the odds? I think its worth putting a first rounder on the line. Unless you do a "Twan Job"

ha ha ha, a twan job.

wait for later in the sim when barbosa is putting up 25/12.

That Mihm had A's is inside, defense and rebounding. And A potential.

Start hearing "twan job" conspiracies once he start hitting those numbers.

No he didn't.  I'm looking at it right now.

B inside, A defense, A- rebounding, C potential.

He had A potential. Must have went down. That's how his ratings became so great.

Better make mihm one of your key players then. Because when he was my 3rd he was averaging 10 and 8. Thats a far cry from the 16 and 10 he is getting. Thats just a tip. And just wait all of you. I dont care what you say now. And sixers gm you have no room to even talk. Youre offering me the worst trade proposals ive ever seen and expected me to take them like kukoc for mihm. Rose james and kukoc for hughes and something else. On that note, I'm rebuilding a team with young players. Notice the potentials of wade and bosh. I think both will be very good players. And if you dont agree so be it. If im wrong so be it. But until you see the results, dont say if its a good or bad trade and redicule me on weather i made the right or wrong decision.

Nobody's ridiculing you.  We're giving our opinions.  And that's everybody has a right to do.

That's also something that can be done before the results have been evident.  An opinion is something you can have at any point.  A fact isn't.

Mihm is going to be my number 2 option.

I was looking back at your box scores, and he's played pretty consistent from the box scores I can read, which are from day 20 and on.

well the philly gm said made me mad. If i hadnt deleted some of the proposals he had sent me i would have posted them right here. Im sure all of us would laugh at them much like i have already.

Hey, this is a business, and everyone is trying to do whats best for their team. I didn't think the KingsGm would do the trade that we ended up doing, but I proposed it anyway, and it happened.
