Suns Agree Title: Hawks/Suns Trade Post by: HawksGM on February 20, 2006, 03:02:21 PM I like this deal for the both of us. IMO Mercer is the better player in this deal but having Mercer and Hav is just overkill and Hav is better so Mercer had to go. My biggest need is inside scoring and Collison will fill that need very well. I get a future pick which I think will be between 10-20, which could be good. I also get to keep the Sonics pick and hopefully draft a player to take over for Collison when his contract runs out. All in all I think it's a good deal for me, Mercer is tough to lose because he is a big time scoring PG and can defend very well. I think it works for the Suns and myself.
Title: Hawks/Suns Trade Post by: SunsGM on February 20, 2006, 03:14:58 PM I've been interested in moving collison for sometime now. I'm scoring 101 ppg and allowing 103 so i felt i needed a defensive anchor in the low post or another stopper on the perimeter to go along with Kobe and Gerstl. hopefully this move shores up my defense, while mercer will step in and cover the scoring i loose from Collison to Sampson. Carter was great this season, and it will be nice to have a scoring and great handling guard off the bench.
