Title: Trading Draft picks Post by: NetsGM on January 20, 2006, 04:32:49 PM Alright guys, at first I didn't have a problem with it, I even participated in it. And I'm not going to stop it this year. But in future years, you won't be able to trade for a draft pick if you do not have the roster space to use it. There just isn't the ability in the NBA to "skip" a draft pick, and there shouldn't be in this one either.
Title: Trading Draft picks Post by: CelticsGM on January 20, 2006, 05:03:31 PM sorry, bods, this got out of hands now. So wise ruling, i second that.
I'm already short on draft rights for unborns and magical items are completely out of stock. Title: Trading Draft picks Post by: NetsGM on January 20, 2006, 05:05:57 PM No problem. It was something never in the rules, which is why I'm allowing it now. At first I didn't care, but we have half the league now abandoning their draft picks.
Title: Trading Draft picks Post by: SpursGM-old on January 24, 2006, 10:01:42 AM I know I am late to this....but in the NBA you don't HAVE to sign your second rounders. Here you are stuck with them for 2 years in a situation with a static cap.
Having said that I agree that the situation got out of hand. And without having a better solution at hand I think that you have come up with the best one possible. |
