Bulls beat the Sonics 140-138 in OT (how many OTs is a mystery)  (at least 3 overtimes if Gasol played 57 minutes, i think)

And very nice to take back the Western Conference throne after an off sim.  2.5 game lead over the Kings, but the Kings and Warriors play twice in the Final sim.

Ugh, Ben Wallace will be out for the 1st 10 days of the playoffs. This pretty much ends any serious playoff run for me.

Started with 1 point loss to Jazz (Schultz 21/5 6 steals, Telf 21/7, Haywood 20/19).

Won in Phoenix 105-100 (Telf 30/5/7, Schultz 26/8) and Seattle (Schultz 23/7,Haywood 18/14,Telf 17/11,Russell 17/7).

Then another home loss to Magic 91-96 and in Minnesotta 96-112 (Schultz 23/7/11,Telf 23/6).

Finished with 4 wins :

at Knicks 103-98 Schultz 37, Telf 16/8.

vs Nuggs 118-72 Schultz 26/8,Telf 22/12, Haywood 21/16.

vs Mavs 114-108 Telf career high 45/6/8, Haywood 22/14.

at Warriors 92-84 Telf 23/5, Buehler 19/9.


Season wins/loss vs possible PO rivals :

Obviously the only team i'd like to avoid are Kings, Clippers or GSW are my wish, i definitely have a way to beat
them, with Nuggs it would be tough, i would prefer Grizzlies even being down 1-3, but all games were a under 10 points
advantage, very close games so anything can happen.

Now Kings you have a job to get division title and give me Warriors in PO's if i remain at #6.

What looks like a joke?

So my playoff hopes have to wait for the last sim. Celtics went 5-4 this time, but losing to the Wiz (at home) and Lakers might prove costly (Hornets and Nets i don't even talk about)

The return of Stromile gave me a complete team for only the 9th game of the year, but the positive effect wasn't easily to identify. Well actually it was, since i won the close ones again beating the Mavs and Jazz by 2 each. But things don't run smoothly yet as i had hoped for.


So now it looks like this: I'm still a game out of the final playoff slot (and 2.5 behind the Bucks to avoid the Nets) and the next sim will be tough, tough, tough:
Road games @ Clippers, Hornets, Grizz, Wolves and Raptors (twice)
Home dates with the surging Soncis and the Suns.

Anything less than a 5-3 or even 6-2 sim means early tee time (i have lost the season series to just about ANYBODY this year), so i better get my troups ready for some road magic ...

First couple games after a trade or introducing a new player can be very rough...

Hopefully Swift will play well, he is one of the premier PF defenders (one on one) in the league, imo.

Just as Dirk steps over Yao for the scoring title, and breaks his single game record, the Raptors have a 7-1 led by a very balanced attack.

A small rundown of the games:

Bulls 94 Raptors 78 -- What a terrible game by the boys. Yao leads the way with 32 and 15, while Max chips in 17 8 and 6. However, team shoots just 33%...and Amare goes off in a BIG way.

Raptors 112 Sixers 85 -- Que the winning streak. Yao plays just 25 minutes due to foul trouble, but Dickau's 29 points lead the way to a lopsided victory. Max puts together a 14 point, 11 assists effort, and Jefferson chips in with 15 and 10 of his own.

Raptors 109 Pistons 89 -- Yao leads the way with 36, 15 and 8 blocks. Jefferson scores 18 and gets 5 blocks. Max had 14 points and 10 assists, while Garcia chipped in 10 boards in only 19 minutes.

Raptors 111 Cavs 91 -- 3rd straight 20+ point win. Yao gets 42, 18 and 8 blocks. All other starters contributed nicely, and a +14 difference on the glass in an encouraging sign.

Raptors 100 Wizards 82 -- Only 18 points this time. Yao with 23, 12 and 7. Dickau and Max both able to score into the 20s. Held the Wiz to only 35%, and Jefferson rained on Barner's parade.

Raptors 92 Hornets 76 -- Yao had 49 points, 18 rebounds and 4 blocks to lead the way to a big, big win. Max, Dickau and Jefferson all played well. Held the Hornets to just 33.3%.

Raptors 119 Bulls 94 -- Closing the sim in a big way, beating the team that ruined me to start the sim. Had 4 players score over 15 points. Had 34 assists on 51 field goals, an amazing number.

Well i'm in deep trouble vs anyone except for Nuggs and Grizz maybe,
but i definitely want to skip Kings 0-8 in last 2 seasons, and it would be nice to upset Clipps or You  :lol:

Dirks game is really amazing. He made 73 without taking more shots than yao in his record game...

Dorrell Wright scored a career high of 24 points with a 10 of 14 shooting.

Steven Hunter had a good game and proved that he deserves some PT. had a 17 minutes 4 blocks perofrmance.

my only lost was to the grizzlies. but my rookie -- Hollister proved to me that he can play, good for him :D

Oh man would i love to go up against the Pacers with a team at full strength for the first time. Stromile absolutely LOVES JO on the other side, Chauncey has to settle some scores with Rocky and let's see what i can come up with for Marion.

With a complete team I like my chances against anybody, i proved that before ...

YEA a 4-0 regular season record with JO never playing at full strength is good enough to prove me that marion and artest will have a lot of fun against the celtics and rocky can´t wait to put up the defense pressure again against billups and pressure him into another great shooting night (ups billups never had one against rocky  :lol: )

Was JO hurt? Why did he play then. Or was it a "mental injury", the agony of being held 5ppg and 3rpg below his averages by my reserves?

I'm sure Artest, Marion and JO had lots of fun against any team missing the leading scorer and best defender. And i'm equally sure things will look quite different if Chauncey actually has a real team around him instead of role players filling in.

But we will most likely never find out as i will have a hard time making the post season at all (the #7 slot is out of reach) and the Pacers are locked at #2 too.


But we can dream. Dream of a Pacers series where their best best guy, Marion, is missing and my backcourt faces a Rocky/Artest/Molina(Austin?) lineup. I'd like to see them talk some trash then ...

And even i can´t prove it anymore but i had some wins with both JO and Marion being injured during the sims that had to be redone.
Also if i remember right it was your coach who told everyone that the Pg you drafted (i can´t remember his name  :lol: ) is the next best thing and strong is ready to start...

Lenard knows himself that he can't guard my granny (and she passed away 4 years ago), so that's no big news to him. His great value is on the other end of the floor, and we've all seen this season where he alone can take the Celtics this season.

Nobody doubts you can win with injuries, I did it myself at a reasonable level. I just doubt you would win many playoff series with Marion hurt (and that includes a series with my Celtics)

AS for the PG reference, i must confess i'm a bit perplexed there who you are referring to. Chauncey IS my everything and he can decide games. But i didn't draft him. The future PG hope I drafted proved to be a big disappointment (and sparringly plays a mere 4mpg for the Cavs now). Rocky I drafted at #19 with no hope of him ever starting and he didn't play one minute in his rookie season (before he exploded in the 2nd TC). I still like him and he might get a starter eventually, but he hasn't decided a single game in his career so far.

And finally, Strong IS ready to start, he'd be a 15/9 guy without focus (and some might say without defense). He just can't start next to Lenard, where I would have just 3 guys playing defense in my lineup ...

yea he can decide games but most of the time he is killing your team with TOs and shotselection  :lol:

With your current record, you would be 9 games away from a playoff spot in the West...

Last year I was 9th in the west but would have been 7th in the east.  This year I am 10th in the west but have a better record than the east's 8th seed

Yeah, the east is definitely very top heavy.
