I understand that, but the point is, with all those different time zones that jan31st 5pm trade deadline is likely to fall right after (far east) or right before midnight (europe) outside the US. And since trade deadline is the the most important date for some midseason dealing i suggest moving it to jan 1st, 5pm, to give everyone a chance to get his head straight, sober and do some wheeling and dealing ... 8) Title: Sim 10/Deadline Discussion Post by: HawksGM on December 30, 2005, 09:58:16 AM if you do it right, your head won't be straight by noon eastern in the US

But i also know if you do it at Jan 1st noon (US time), we wont have a chance to negotiate with anyone as nobody will be online. Same goes for the night before as we (europeans and asians) wont be online anymore for the evening of 31st. So all negotiations for us would have to be completed tonight at the latest. Or without any stress and after a night of celebration on the evening of jan 1st ... Title: Sim 10/Deadline Discussion Post by: NetsGM on December 30, 2005, 02:04:03 PM If I put it off until 5pm january 1st, it wouldn't get done until about noon January 2nd (I'd get home from work at around 1:30 am, wouldn't feel like doing the sim then).
Which means we'd have a sim at noon on january 2nd and at 5pm january 2nd. Sorry. I'm not pushing this back to give you guys more time to make trades, I'm "pushing it back" because I won't be able to sim before then. this isn't a deadline that snuck up on anyone. Title: Sim 10/Deadline Discussion Post by: SonicsGM on December 31, 2005, 12:24:03 AM I am anxious to see how Stan the Manning does as a #1 option, especially with a PG like English feeding him the ball down low.
Also, The Bulls, Wiz and Sonics all look to have high lottery picks. I'm liking the new Sonics... Title: Sim 10/Deadline Discussion Post by: RaptorsGM on January 02, 2006, 12:22:21 PM 6-2 sim, much better.
Title: Sim 10/Deadline Discussion Post by: BlazersGM on January 02, 2006, 12:24:24 PM Was a tough sim for me,2-4, with little luck could've been 3-3 or 4-2 but well lost one in OT and one by 1 point away.
wish could've gotten 1 more win then i did, had to play damn Kings 2 times :) Started with OT loss in Houston, my rivals for PO spot, then lost in Memphis by 4. Travelled to Sacramento without any hopes, loss by 14 (Telf with nice 33/7 effort, team was shooting 50 % fG, 45 % 3PT and 91% FT, but even a great shooting night was not enough to do something. Back home came another loss to Kings, Telf again with 33, but something more (front) will take it to beat the damn Kings. 4th straight loss came in Detroit by 1. Finished with 2 wins at home to Sixers and Bulls (Telf with triple 21/10/12). Now droped to 7th spot, too bad luck was not there this sim. Title: Sim 10/Deadline Discussion Post by: NetsGM on January 02, 2006, 12:26:57 PM Sim up, as is check-in.
http://ssba.phillyarena.net/files/check-in.htm Again, I'm not all that worried about inactivity considering the time of the year. Looks like I'm going to have to play out the year with the Pacers only 1 game back. they scare the living bleep out of me in the playoffs. Pettit does not matchup with Marion at all. 6-1 sim, very good. Won by an average of 20 ppg. outrebounded opponents by 7 per game. 13 turnovers/game to 17 for opponents. Held them to 39% shooting as a team. Emeka with 21.3/16.5/3.42 blocks. Pettit with 39.3/5.4/4.1. Lord with 14.7 pts and 6.6 assists, not bad. Dunleavy didn't shoot well, but had 12.2 pts, 8.2 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 2.3 steals to only 1.8 turnovers. Boykins with 12/5 off the bench. Had a really weak schedule though. That game on day 99 against the Wizards was the reason I got Dunleavy. 14 pts, 6 rebounds, 6 assists, 6 steals, 1 turnover, 2 3ptm. He reminds me of Gnobili. He can fill up a stat sheet. Still wasn't expecting him to supplant Battier, but he's been amazing. Happy with the way Lord is playing, and I'm probably going to leave him in as the starter right now. But it's really just to let him play some more, I'll probably insert Boykins back for the last sim and playoffs. Lord's flashing some real nice ability, and was a little more consistent this last sim, but he's not quite there. This Emeka character is pretty amazing. He throws up 20/20 games like other players put up double-doubles. He had 3 20-20's this sim (31pts, 23 rebounds, 25 pts, 22 rebounds and 27 pts, 20 rebounds). On the season he has 12 20 pts, 20 rebound games. He might be the MVP this year. Sammy chipped in a nice 10.4 pts, 3.7 blocks in only 29 minutes. He's just not going to put up the #'s playing next to Emeka. Lord's defense was pretty good, held opposing starting pg's to 0.98 pps (the best on the team), and they only had a 1.7/1 assist to turnover ratio. Very excited about this kid....he's just not there yet. 21-3 in my last 3 sims. Title: Sim 10/Deadline Discussion Post by: PacersGM on January 02, 2006, 12:45:48 PM another great sim 6-1 still in the hunt for spot number 1 but don´t expect it for this year.
only loss to the hornets with 2 points thanks to a great afford by swift and jackson  the rest pretty much was very solid with a game against the celtics i used to have in the old days  also a very solid win against the raptors thanks to my depth at C and JO can´t wait for the POs..... Title: Sim 10/Deadline Discussion Post by: CelticsGM on January 02, 2006, 03:53:52 PM One thing i'm truly happy about: The Stromile-less time is about to end. And boy is it time this happens ...
The final sim result of 3-4 looks way better than the actual play was. The first four games, 3 home wins (scoring 130,120,115) and a close home loss to Pacers made me believe better times are here, but the rest was completely embarrassing: - a 44 pt loss at the Pacers (shooting 31%) - a heartbreaking loss to the Bulls (32%) - and a 16pt loss at Mormon City (31%) i'm at a loss for explanations here. 17 more games left (only 4 more without Stro, all at home) 3 games in the loss column out of the 7th spot, 2 out of the 8th (which means choosing between Pacers and Nets ... i'd still take the Pacers) so the hope is still there, just making the post season would mean a lot to my young guys. All hopes are on Stromile and what he can do ... 8) Title: Sim 10/Deadline Discussion Post by: BlazersGM on January 02, 2006, 04:20:52 PM Quote from: CelticsGM Quote from: KingsGM Proudly presenting the first placed Sacramento Kiiiiiiiiings!!! 8) ??? Horrendous sim... Looks like the team does not like playing at a very fast pace at all. Back to regular setup for the last 2 sims of the season. Title: Sim 10/Deadline Discussion Post by: KingsGM-old on January 02, 2006, 07:12:16 PM Alright, now some of the highlights. Went 6-1 with only lost to the Hornets without Carmelo. Bastard Radmanovic scored 30 and held Tmac to season low 11 pts :? .
After that, all went the Kings way. Beat the Blazers twice in a row, the Spurs and the Knicks. Tinsley was just beautifull replacing Bibby. He had games of; 18/5/5, 18/11/4, 18/8/6. A true pointguard and reliable sub. Very satisfied with him so far. Then came the best defensive effort in a long time as the Kings held Jazz for 59 points and 28% of shoting.  . Hoffa with 31/14 and Forston with 16pts, 5 blocks and 20 boards were just too much for Jazz's frontcourt. Last game of the sim; SWEPT the defending champs Nets with 103-93 victory in Arco Arena, where their 13 games winning streak came to an end. Once again Mcgrady schooled young Pettit with 42pts, held him to 17 and 5 personal fouls in 30 minutes. It's too early for passing the torch. Emeka also had alots of troubles with Hoffa as he was fouled out. Held him to 9/23 from the field but Hoffa still managed 26pts and 14 boards. Bibby also with a strong game; 11pts, 13asists and 7 boards. 50-20, first place in the West. Not sure do i like it since the Mavs are #8. But still, 60 wins sounds nice, we could grab them. 8) Title: Sim 10/Deadline Discussion Post by: KingsGM-old on January 02, 2006, 07:31:46 PM Bods, can you tell me NOW what was my DC? Some thing are just not logical when i look at the box scores. Daren Montana was my 3rd pg on DC, and that with Bibby out for the first 5 days so that means Montana was the first backup for Tinsley who was a starter in the first 3 games. And yet, he haven't played a minute. Could you please post my last DC?

I don't see any way I'm moving up or moving down from the 3rd spot, so that's that. I can't help but think what might have been if that one sim had stayed in place. Ah well, stuff happens.
Hopefully the Knicks stay at essentially the same place and I get lucky in the draft. :) Title: Sim 10/Deadline Discussion Post by: HawksGM on January 02, 2006, 09:54:00 PM I'm happy with my 4-4 sim and I'm now only 3 games out of the playoffs. Third, no, you're right, Darren Montana didn't play. That's beacuse He was on the IR. And that's because you never list your IR in your DC so I have to guess, and at some point he got placed on there. |
