Title: Sim 9 Preview & Disscusions
Post by: KingsGM-old on December 28, 2005, 03:22:12 PM
Kings continue with their road to glory with somehow favorable schedule coming next. After first half of the season and with some brutal schedule so far, Kings remain near the top of the West with a 40-16 record. When healthy and at full strenght, this team proved it's really tough to beat. At home where the Kings have one of the best records in the league at 24-6 as well as on the road. Everyone is doing it's job just and the team unity is one of the best on years.

Sacramento Kings Sim 9:

82    Bucks @ Kings
83    Kings @ Wizards
86    Mavericks @ Kings
87    Jazz @ Kings
88    Kings @ Rockets
89    Kings @ Warriors
90    Kings @ Celtics

Game of the sim: Day 89: Kings @ Warriors. Two top Western teams face each other in one of the biggest and most important game so far. With #1 seed still in the air it is crucial for the Kings to take that game and make a early statement before the playoffs. Showdown is guaranteed and Arena in Oakland is expected to be packed as the tickets are already sold out.

In the previous match-up between the 2 teams, the Kings homecourt advantage was visible in force.
The Warriors defensive intensity was low, likely because of a 4 day break between games.

Dirk will be back from injury for the game.  Should be very interesting game.

Very interesting sim for me.

Besides my ongoing battle for who should be starting SF (which is a very good battle, btw), I got to see a preview of Lincoln Lord as starting pg, with Boykins down.

Went 7-1 for the sim, lost the first game to the Hornets then won 7 straight.  Very good last 2 sims at 15-2 after some mediocre middle season play, now playing championship ball.

Lord with very mixed results.  For the sim averaged 13.5 pts, 5.6 assists, 1.12 steals, 2 to's in 31.6 minutes.  Shot 47.7% from the field, 47.8% from 3 pt range (11-23), 91.6% from the line as a non-option.  Love the scoring, would like more assists (I think part of that is due to Dunleavy over Battier).  Had a 20 pt performance, then followed it up with a 29 pt, 11 assist, 5 steal effort.  But he also had a 3 pt, 7 assist effort and a 4 pt, 5 assist effort, not to mention 7 pts, 4 assists.  I guess you can expect some inconsistency from a rookie, but could have been better.

Interesting battle for starting SF spot.

Since becoming a starter Dunleavy has the following averages:
12.52 pts, 8.12 rebounds, 3.72 assists, 1.88 steals, only 1.64 turnovers.  Vs. Battier's 7.96 pts, 5.44 rebounds, 1.37 assists, 1.74 steals, 1.4 turnovers.

Obviously, the 4.5 more ppg is nice.  But it's the rebounds and assists that I love about Dunleavy.  Team's 20-7 with Battier starting, 20-5 with Dunleavy.

Dunleavy's defense has been great too, holding opposing SF's to about 40% shooting while he's starting.

Some decisions to make, indeed.  Battier's proven success with this lineup, but Dunleavy's been amazing.

Ah shit, i just knew the injurie will occur... :?

Both of my pg's went down but at least Tinsley will be ready for the next sim.

Pretty mediocre 4-3 sim. Don't know what happened. Can't explain the lost from the Rockets. Mavs also once again had my number.

And off course, congrats to the Wariorrs on a huge blowout. Had no idea what happened. I know Dirk went crazy but overall my team was just pathetic.  :?

I'll never make a damn stupid thread again! Anytime i do that, my team performs lousy...

btw My frontcurt of Hoffa - Camby - Forston is really having a hard time staying out of foul trouble, specially Hoffa.

man... I had an impressive sim, too bad my 3rd option didn't show up his offensive wares. dang.  :?

Against the knicks, William Brice lit them up shooting 15 of 20 including a perfect 5 3-conversion. He went on to score 35 with Dwight grabbing 17 rebounds. My boy Mangrum also had a whopping 17pts and 15 asts performance.

too bad, Nets lit me up the next game  :(

btw, I have a wrong DC.

I had Arroyo as my 2nd string PG and he didn't play. Maquis was listed to play at SG and he played PG.

That's because your DC's are bolded wrong.

Sim 8 you had:
PG-Mangrum/Daniels/Arroyo

Sim 9 you had:
PG-Mangrum/Arroyo/Daniels

You didn't bold Arroyo, so I didn't change it (it became Mangrum, Daniels, Daniels).  When I'm doing DC's I pretty much scan for bolds, then check to make sure I have the starting 5 correct.  So if you don't bold correctly, your backups will get messed up.

Still holding the 6th seed in West, team is improving from year to year that's important, now just 1 game away from my
"record" so far, but i'm really hoping to get inside the play-offs this year, no high hopes for my youngsters, but
some playoff experience is a must for this season and for future of this young team.

I had a really tough schedule, toughest so far so going 4-5 i'm pretty satisfied considering i played all PO teams.
Nice thing to know also is i havent suffered a heavy loss for a long long time now, which proves my youngsters are
coming closer and closer to the big ones.

Started with a loss at home to Clipps, defeated the Raptors  by 9 like i projected Raps, it was front/back duel this
time but yao 29/19 couldnt do it alone against Schultz,Telf backcourt, Buehler added a nice 16/10/6 also.

Won another at home to Wolves, Telf 21/10, Schultz 18/12 boards, Ricky Davis came out as a nice sub posting 15,
Haywood was shooting terrible but was a excellent presence down the boards with 18.

Then hit the road with win over LAL, Haywood 24/8, Schultz 23/6/6, Russell added 20, Cunny 17 but "the alfa" was
Telf with 14/18 and 3 steals, shooting 6/7 FG only, but dishes tell everything.

Lost in Washington by 3 (that i kinda regret, i might have gone 5-4 which would be much more then i expected this
sim), Telf 19/5/9, Haywood 18/14, Schultz 17/7/7 and so on.

Now here i got more pissed off losing at home to Wizards, Telf 24/16, Schultz 20/10 others played terribly.

Beat the Mavs by 20 at home, Telf seems to be raising from sim to sim into a true leader, amazing display last 2 sims.

Lost to NJN away by 19, that's the only game i knew i cant win, especially not in New Jersey.

And Finally Mavs got their revenge in Portland, Haywood 22/16 and Telf 17/7 only bright stars in this game.

Im satisfied, wish i could've take one win out of Wizards to go again over 50 % in the sim,
but play-offs are approaching and this team definitely has chances to get inside.

Post by: RaptorsGM on December 28, 2005, 10:16:29 PM
Hmm...a 4-4 sim for the Raptors, pretty terrible given the competition.

Won 4 of the first 5, then 3 losses in a row to the Suns, Pistons and Knicks, all bad teams.

Yao had a bit of an off sim, scoring less than 30 pts in 5 of the 8 games played.

Still just 3 games back of homecourt advantage, but will have to take advantage of light sims such as this one and the one coming up.

Very good sim by the Warriors. 6-2.

Team actually did well without Nowitzki, going 2-1.

Highlight, of course, was defaating the Kings.  Let's me know that my team really can play with the elite teams in the league.

Can't seem to beat the Magic though.  They have defeated me twice this year, as have the Spurs.

I'll try hehhee, for me it's a huge acomplishment to get to PO's with those youngsters, i have no expectations, i'm 95 % sure if i get to that spot i'll be eliminated round 1 this season (watch out all in next 2-3 seasons when baby's araise), but i'll try to make my cousin an easier way to the CF finals at least (joke), even looking at it now, i probably have more chance against Mavs (or any team in SSBA) then Kings, Kings are my dark hourse, in 3 seasons i never beated them (just once i think, comparing to all other teams which i've defeated at least 2-3x even while my team was totally patetic), however, that dark horse might turn to white horse if we meet in round 1, my wish is Kings (revenge hehe) or Clipps/Mavs in round 1 if i make the PO's   :D

nice sim again 5-1
Artest really played amazing this sim: not sure if there is a better third option here
@grizz W Artest 32/5 with 3stls and MArion 26/13
@rockets W again a nice defense effort holding them under 40% Marion 27/13 and Artest 24/4 again leading my team
bucks W and one more defense win with the bucks shooting under 40% Marion 30/12/7 and Artest 27/7/4
@celtics the third consecutive win holding a team under 40% great  :D i like my play against the celtics   Marion 31/7/7 , Rocky holding his former mentor to 8/27 and Artest 19/7/6 and a team record 8 stls
@clippers a blowout loss had no answer for them
@pisotns W with JO 37/8 and Artest 20/5/6

with the current record i hope i can stay at 2nd place the nets are out of my reach

This was the true test and reality check. Went 3-6 playing against the best from both conferences. So the reality is not looking too bright ...

Lost both to the Warriors (one without Dirk, and a close one on the road when he returned), a defensive battle to the Kings (too bad Bibby and Tinsley apparently got injured during the locker room celebrations ?!?), a slugfest to the Pacers and another close one to the Hornets (where Radman went 17-25 !!!).

Only loss that hurts was to playoffs competitor Wiz, but on the other hand i beat the Bulls twice and the Pistons.

yes, give it to me, when i'm down. still it's interesting to "stay within 23" when your outshot 59% to 39%, out assisted 35 to 18 and have an 8 worse stl/to differential.

What's up?
14 more games without my hope Stromile and some tough decisions to make before the trading deadline ...

3-5 sim, was the playoff hope killer, I had some big games and losing 3 games to the Heat proved that I'm not playoff worthy.  Shane Nesterovich has really impressed me.  I might make a move at the deadline to help for next season seeing that Damp will retire.

5-2 sim.  Losses to the Wizards & Hornets.  Wins over the Warriors, Rockets, Jazz, Sonics & Lakers.  This young starting team is starting to play well together.

Weakness in FG defense is made up in defending the 3 pt arc and not allowing too many free throws.  Also we are averaging almost 2 more steals per game and 1 less turnover than our opponents.

Oh, good idea to mention triple doubles:

My young stud Ivan Strong ALMOST had one against the Bulls and amare Stoudemire: he got 15pts, 10reb and 9 ass COMING FROM THE BENCH !!!

it sure helped that starter Etan Thomas just played 8 minutes due to foul trouble, but still ...

Strong played AGAINST Amare, and "held" him to 36 minutes, 44 points (on 18-38 shooting), 9 boards and 5 giveaways. Still not too bad for a backup ...

Maggete is the most underated defensive player in the league. Anytime we played, Mcgrady never had big game, despite Corey's C+ defense.

West being so sick, im really happy my kids are playing better and better each sim, moving from 12th to 8th, and now on 6th position, they're playing better and better each sim, if those kids make play-offs they might be a dark horse for someone, they're totally unpredictable, losing mostly to weaker teams and having at least 1 win against top teams this season (except Kings), i just hope if i do make it to PO's, i wont play Kings, its the only team im having trouble always and they seem unbeatable for me, my wish is Clippers, im doing pretty good against them.
