They can start if you have no better option, but are below average starters. You can plug them in, but they aren't mainstays.
For the spurs, I don't think Al really fit (and I don't think he really fits well for the Raptors, either). He's really a better player at C, and Spurs would ideally put Mihm at C. It really rides on the pick whether or not they got good value for Al though. At 24, there is no saying he can't improve again, and if he does, he could be pretty good.
And he is a long term fix for C, after Yao leaves. Yes, I know, I'm just trying to comment on where you said my pick is projected and 20, and they should hope it gets better. I don't see that happening, I see my pick at 22-25. Yeah, I like this deal for me, I felt that Pietrus was great last year, but he had a poor TC and a poor first sim. He's just not a starter, he's a good backup, but I already have one of those n Tayshaun.
