It's not like I just randomly put down names. And also, it was pretty tough not putting down Chamberlain or Keogan. Didn't want to seem biased. But there was no way that Vince wasn't going to be on there... :)
Title: *SSBA's Best* - Off-season Player Rankings Post by: NetsGM on December 08, 2005, 09:47:56 PM I've got a top 3 player at 3 positions :)
Title: *SSBA's Best* - Off-season Player Rankings Post by: HawksGM on December 08, 2005, 09:47:56 PM I agree with your ratings, very good work, I would have put Chamberlain on there though, he's a A/TO master
Title: *SSBA's Best* - Off-season Player Rankings Post by: BlazersGM on December 08, 2005, 09:52:17 PM I agree on almost all of it, tough i would prefer from my team instead of Telfair as honorable mention to be Bertam Shultz in SG section, he's the best young SG out there, an All-star in his first season previous season...i don't know if any rookies made it so far as i've been only in the league for 3 seasons, but he was first, and big things are coming from that german monster. :D

Title: *SSBA's Best* - Off-season Player Rankings Post by: PacersGM on December 09, 2005, 06:12:24 AM very good work... i think tanner should be a top 10 C other than that i agree.
i like my 4 guys in the top 10.. :D Title: *SSBA's Best* - Off-season Player Rankings Post by: NetsGM on December 09, 2005, 06:42:34 AM Quote from: PacersGM very good work... i think tanner should be a top 10 C other than that i agree. i like my 4 guys in the top 10.. :D That's gotta kill the hawks. With him he was a 13-16 ppg. Since then he's an 18-19 ppg on 47% shooting. Can't blame him. He was bad as a hawk that last year. Title: *SSBA's Best* - Off-season Player Rankings Post by: CelticsGM on December 09, 2005, 08:06:11 AM Great rankings, and a wondeful job, CavsGM.
I have no idea how the former Nets backup PG slipped all the way to #2 but i sure like having 4 guys (with Stro) in the top 10 too. One player i'd like to see geting more attention is Ginobili, an automatic 10/6/4 defensive wiz with nearly 2 steals and less giveaways. Like Battier with the Nets he's a big part of my success, and neither Lenard nor Chauncey would be ranked that high without him. btw, i'd like to see that post moved to articles later on (and generally the whole Articles section moved further up - to "League Information" - so it gets more attention. It's poor for such an active league that we had a grand total of three articles written all of last season ... Title: *SSBA's Best* - Off-season Player Rankings Post by: GoldenStateGM on December 09, 2005, 08:41:02 AM This was a great analysis, Cavs, good job.
Love the fact I have 2 top 5 players, and another top 10 player. Had 4 top 10 players last year, but I traded up for Nowtitzki :) Title: *SSBA's Best* - Off-season Player Rankings Post by: BullsGM-old on December 09, 2005, 08:43:57 AM Great work
Are the honorable mentions in order? Title: *SSBA's Best* - Off-season Player Rankings Post by: KingsGM-old on December 09, 2005, 09:36:51 AM Kings have #7 pg in Mike Bibby (although i think he's a top 3 IMO), #3 sg Tracy Mcgrady and #3 c in Rafael Araujo.
So, what's wrong with my record?! :P Title: *SSBA's Best* - Off-season Player Rankings Post by: MagicGM on December 09, 2005, 09:49:48 AM Quote from: KingsGM Kings have #7 pg in Mike Bibby (although i think he's a top 3 IMO), #3 sg Tracy Mcgrady and #3 c in Rafael Araujo. His percentages, besides his first year have been pretty consisitent, as have his blocks and rebounds. He is just taking more shots now. Title: *SSBA's Best* - Off-season Player Rankings Post by: NetsGM on December 09, 2005, 10:04:07 AM Quote He is just taking more shots now. But I believe the Hawks had him as a #1 or #2 option most of that time. He had Shane Battier disease for some of his time there (i.e. not taking enough shots) Title: *SSBA's Best* - Off-season Player Rankings Post by: HawksGM on December 09, 2005, 10:13:32 AM Quote from: NetsGM Quote He is just taking more shots now. But I believe the Hawks had him as a #1 or #2 option most of that time. He had Shane Battier disease for some of his time there (i.e. not taking enough shots) yea Tanner was #2 option most of his time here. His rookie season, when I had him as #1 option he'd throw up 25+ shots/game. Now he's much more efficient and he's a very solid center. It definitely isn't something I like, I just wish I would have been patient and stayed put when I had Stro, Melo and Tanner, that would have eventually worked out if I ever got a guard. Oh well what can you do, but yes I agree Tanner is a top 10 center candidate, he has his defense still there but has improved his offense. Title: *SSBA's Best* - Off-season Player Rankings Post by: NetsGM on December 09, 2005, 10:21:37 AM I think you pulled the trigger too early on some players, but I can't blame you for trading Tanner. The man had gotten worse three straight seasons. He didn't show anything to indicate this would happen.
Title: *SSBA's Best* - Off-season Player Rankings Post by: RaptorsGM on December 09, 2005, 10:25:56 AM Raptors have 1 top 10 player, but since he of course is number 1 overall, I'm not too worried about it.
It won't be long before Max is well up on that top 10 list. Book it. Title: *SSBA's Best* - Off-season Player Rankings Post by: CavsGM on December 09, 2005, 11:16:13 AM The honorable mentions aren't in any specific order.
Title: *SSBA's Best* - Off-season Player Rankings Post by: HornetsGM on December 09, 2005, 12:18:37 PM I think Livingston may be a bit underrated, but I won't complain too much.
He lead the league in APG (9.9), was 3rd in SPG (2.4), was 6th in MPG (39), scored 16 PPG (on 48% shooting), and was all-league 3rd team and all-defensive 2nd team. His only knock is that he was 6th in TOPG (3.4). |
