Title: With the 9th Pick Post by: NetsGM on November 28, 2005, 05:52:48 PM The 76ers select:
David Jonas, SG, Indiana Title: With the 9th Pick Post by: CavsGM on November 28, 2005, 08:33:25 PM This kid looks good. At the worst he becomes an excellent backup at possibly 3 positions.
Title: With the 9th Pick Post by: RaptorsGM on November 28, 2005, 08:44:41 PM Yeah, I wanted him with the 11th.
Title: With the 9th Pick Post by: NetsGM on November 28, 2005, 08:51:41 PM I was never interested in drafting him, desite my mock ;)

I'm not even surprised the Bucks didn't fall for your bluff, it was TOO obvious ... Title: With the 9th Pick Post by: NetsGM on November 29, 2005, 06:39:04 AM Ah shutup.
I wasn't worried about fooling people into thinking I was drafting Jonas, I just didn't want people to know I was targetting a pg. That's all. I haven't said a peep about this draft since fbcb sim 1 ;) Title: With the 9th Pick Post by: SixersGM on November 29, 2005, 08:16:02 AM I feel that Jonas was the best player available. I have ranked him 2 positions higher. I projected him to be picked by the bucks.
With Damon Jones gone, I would want to see Jonas play the PG position where he could somehow replace Jones' production. (A- outside B+ handling 6'6 guard) Title: With the 9th Pick Post by: SixersGM on November 29, 2005, 08:36:43 AM Quote from: NetsGM I was never interested in drafting him, desite my mock ;) Im so curious why you dont want to draft him? I was expecting either u or the bucks to draft the kid. (A- outside B+ handling 6'6 guard) why not simply let him play at sg and let toby handle the pg duties? i like the pick for the sixers since their biggest need was either SF or SG. Simply because I have my sg position fairly well locked up ;) Title: With the 9th Pick Post by: RaptorsGM on November 29, 2005, 09:36:05 AM Quote from: NetsGM Ah shutup. I haven't said a peep about this draft since fbcb sim 1 ;) No, that wasn't the most obvious thing in the world. Your C is 27, PF is 28, SF is 31 (but you have a projected starter in Salmons), SG is 25 and PG is 33. You don't need anything BUT a PG. I can only hope that the rest of the league will be smart enough to not trade you a PG. If we can all do that, then you will have to have Lord develop, or try to get a starter with the MLE. But Jonas' defense will make problems for me. He's better defending smaller PGs. Title: With the 9th Pick Post by: NetsGM on November 29, 2005, 10:10:13 AM Quote Why not let Jonas play PG? He's got excellent handles. Because I thought Lord was a better pg prospect than Jonas a pg prospect. If I was looking at Jonas it would be as a sg that could possibly backup pg or sf, not start. Title: With the 9th Pick Post by: HawksGM on November 29, 2005, 12:14:12 PM Jonas reminds me a lot of Rodya, but bigger. Rodya has fairly respectable numbers for a rookie and is a very effective PG in terms of A/TO
Title: With the 9th Pick Post by: SixersGM on December 04, 2005, 02:50:44 AM Is it fair to say that David Jonas' real NBA player comparison is Brent Barry? A- Outside B handling with B potential. Kinda like what Brent was during his days with the clipps.
