Title: Sim 9 Discussion Post by: NetsGM on November 10, 2005, 12:09:40 AM You know, no matter how good things are going (and things are going good. 8-1 sim, Emeka grabbed 33 rebounds in one game, Pettit scored 52 points), I can't beat the Hornets. Not this year at least. Lost by 34 earlier in the year, now 26. God I hope I don't meet them in the ECF.
Sixers pick still at 6 with 3 sims to go. Title: Sim 9 Discussion Post by: RaptorsGM on November 10, 2005, 01:27:09 AM Great sim from a Raptors prespective, went 4-2, now only 1/2 game out of the 8th spot.
Heat had a 1-3 sim, Spurs had a 3-4 sim. My picks are now 8th (Heat) and 14th (Spurs). Not as good as the 6 and 8 I thought I would have, but I'll take it. As for the team: Lost to the Wiz by 2 freaking points. These are the types of games that I wil have to win if I expect to make the playoffs. Yao paced me with 35, 16 and 6 blocks. Handled the Sixers well as Yao had 31/15 and 5 blocks. Max had 13, 10 and 6 with only 1 turnover. Cranked the Bulls by 22, as Yao had 41 and 15....also Max 15 points to go with 11 assists and 1 turnover...I love this kid. Beat the Pistons on the road, Yao struggled getting only 24 and 9...but the rest of the team really picked up the slack. Max had 15 points, 12 assists and only 2 turnovers. Beat the Bulls again as defense was the key due to both teams having a poor shooting night. Yao had 28 and 15....and we were able to shoot 102 times!! wow. Lost to the Celtics, can't complain about that....Yao had 25 and 11, and Max had 10 assists but also 4 turnovers. Overall, great sim, have my eyes set on 6th spot (just 2 games back with 20 to go). Also hoping to have 2 top 10 picks...lose Spurs, lose! Title: Sim 9 Discussion Post by: MagicGM on November 10, 2005, 04:48:29 AM well, I'd have to say that we'll be in deep trobule if Sixers picks remains that high. damn it.
Title: Sim 9 Discussion Post by: ClippersGM-old on November 10, 2005, 05:58:39 AM Went 4-3... not so great, but then again I only lost close games (the one vs the Spurs must have been great to watch :) ) and I was without Chandler and Childress for a couple games. So no need to worry.
Title: Sim 9 Discussion Post by: KingsGM-old on November 10, 2005, 06:22:12 AM God i hate Clippers.
I don't think i could beat them even if i have KG and TD frontcourt. Title: Sim 9 Discussion Post by: CelticsGM on November 10, 2005, 08:28:54 AM In an unfortunate turn of events I was not able to sport a lineup including my new aquisitions, furthermore since i changed my DC accordingly I also didn't get my desired lineup with my old roster.
And so I went .500 again, going 4-4. And this is about what i consider myself currently. A full step behind the upper echelon, among the middle-tier playoff teams. Lost to the Kings, Bulls, Cavs, Wolves and beat the Warriors (by 48!) and Grizzlies. Billups continues to impress, though not positive, racking up turnovers in pierce-esque manner. 4.2 TOs per game this sim is lousy, Chauncey. Using Booth in my starting lineup keeps rebounding battles more open, but costs me some offense Jefferson provides otherwise. I win games mainly through defense and, despite Billups, taking care of the ball. But i'm also dead last in opponent rebounding (by a landslide), proving my trades were necessary. Now lets hope everything runs as planned and the next sim will show some new faces on the Celtics bench ... 8) Title: Sim 9 Discussion Post by: GoldenStateGM on November 10, 2005, 08:36:13 AM I had that sim...
My first losing sim, and oh boy did my team lose :) 1-4, and every loss was by over 10 points. Defense just collapsed, after I changed my defensive setings a bit. Not going to do that again :) Title: Sim 9 Discussion Post by: SixersGM on November 10, 2005, 10:46:59 AM Too busy to change the line-up. Next thing i know, my best scorer was injured.
Title: Sim 9 Discussion Post by: SpursGM-old on November 10, 2005, 11:05:37 AM 3-4 sim...faced 5 WC playoff teams. Went 3-2 beating Clips, Kings, Sonics and losing to Wolves & Warriors.
Lost Ray Allen for the middle 4 games of the sim and went 1-3 including losses to the Suns & Lakers. But in the 3 games Ray played he went for 21.0 ppg, 7.3 rpg, 5.0 apg, 44.6% FG, 59.1% from the arc. And team went 2-1. Beat the Clippers in an OT barnburner 126-123. No quarter separated by more than 4 pts. Team went 14-25 from downtown. Parker had a triple double of sorts with 27 pts, 16 assts, 11 to. Tony Parker 20.0 ppg, 9.3 apg, 5.0 rpg, 48.2% FG; only neg 3.7 to. Had games of 23/12/7, 27/16/6, 23/8/6, 17/7/7 Title: Sim 9 Discussion Post by: BlazersGM on November 10, 2005, 12:11:17 PM Another non-negative sim, 4-4, seems like i finally found good rotation and gameplay option. Very suprised by wins over Hornets and Jazz, almost had my first over 50 % sim but Sonics won with the buzzer.
No heavy defeats for first time also, beat the Jazz,Nuggets,Wizards and Hornets, lost to Sonics by 6, Pistons by 3,Sonics by 1 and Mavs by 12. Too bad i needed 8 sims to find rotation, otherwise would be around 50 % or above for sure. Title: Sim 9 Discussion Post by: BlazersGM on November 10, 2005, 12:17:50 PM oh actually it was 5-4 :) :) ......my eyes didnt see win over Magic, so first winning sim this season, suprised indeed as i played 6 road games.
Pick i traded is now at #11, so i'm not cracking my head yet over it. Title: Sim 9 Discussion Post by: CavsGM on November 10, 2005, 03:15:00 PM Cavs kicked some major ass this sim, going 6-1, including wins over good teams like the Celtics and Clippers. How about the 4.4 blocks per game that Holton averaged over this sim, very impressive. My team's defense is pretty ugly, but they sure can block shots. They had an incredible 20 blocks in the win over the Celtics. Cavs now hold the 4th seed, and only two games behind Boston for 3rd. Playoff position is looking good, hopefully the team can keep it. But I'm gonna have to make some decision before the trade deadline...
Title: Sim 9 Discussion Post by: CavsGM on November 10, 2005, 03:19:47 PM Just noticed that Tsakalidis, my big bad starting center, was out for the last 3 games and is out for another two. Drojnak had an sensational game against the Pistons with 23 points, 17 rebounds and 5 blocks, but that game was unfortunately a loss.
Title: Sim 9 Discussion Post by: MavsGM on November 10, 2005, 04:42:05 PM Only lost was to the Kings when Hoffa did some sick $hit.
Title: Sim 9 Discussion Post by: KingsGM-old on November 10, 2005, 05:38:47 PM Get used to it

But then on the box score I noticed him around!   Btw Kings, Childress got injured in that game and Maggette only played 16 min. Hehe, just foolin a bit! Title: Sim 9 Discussion Post by: KingsGM-old on November 10, 2005, 06:07:04 PM I'm still not done with trading, so comes playoff time, we 'll see who gets the last laugh

Oh yes, I wish Hoffa would have had to face a real C (Etan) in the Celtics game instead of Booth from my makeshift lineup ... Good to know i'm not the only one anymore. :P jk Title: Sim 9 Discussion Post by: RaptorsGM on November 11, 2005, 05:24:02 PM Bods.....I would feel alot better about this whole situation if you were to tell me you are not going to quit.
Title: Sim 9 Discussion Post by: BlazersGM on November 11, 2005, 08:46:37 PM What the hell is going on in here ? Am i halucinating again ? 8)
Title: Sim 9 Discussion Post by: RaptorsGM on November 12, 2005, 10:04:55 AM So, since this could have been the last SSBA sim, I guess (I really don't know what is going on right now), I better compile some stats from that last 4-2 sim.
C: Yao Ming - 38.8mpg, 30.7ppg, 13.5rpg, 4apg, 3.7bpg, 1.8spg, 1.8topg, 46.6%. --Well, anytime Yao can be below average in a sim, and I can still go 4-2, that's a major, major plus. Good for him for keepig the turnovers down, and dishing the ball more. PF: Jamal Del Negro - 18.7mpg, 8ppg, 3rpg, 1.2apg, 1.2spg, 0.0bpg, 0.7topg, 48.8% --Great numbers in limited minutes. If he shows some improvement next TC, he's gonna be a consistent starter. PF: Jamal Sampson - 29.5mpg, 11ppg, 9.7rpg, 1.5apg, 0.8bpg, 1.2spg, 1.3topg, 38.0%. --I'm loving the production from him, if only he would take a few less shots and make a few more...still, 11 and 10 is going to translate into a great backup big next season. SF: Tayshaun Prince - 30mpg, 8.3ppg, 4.5rpg, 1.5apg, 1.5spg, 0.3bpg, 0.3topg, 37.7%. --Played great the first 4 games, poorer the last 2. Still, if he can give me 8 and 5 with virtually no turnovers, he will be a legit starter for a while to come. SG: Mickael Pietrus - 31.8mpg, 8.3ppg, 7.2rpg, 1.8apg, 1.5spg, 0.2bpg, 3topg, 37.7%. --Eerily similar scoring production as Tayshaun, but the rebounding and turnovers are much higher. I guess someone on the team has to turn the ball over. SG/SF: Kareem Longley - 22.8mpg, 6.8ppg, 5rpg, 2.2apg, 0.5spg, 0.0bpg, 1.5topg, 51.7%. --My new Nate Lovelette. Fantastic production off the bench, really love to see that. Turnovers are a bit worrisome, but I'll take the scoring and rebounding any day. PG: Max Guiterrez - 31.7mpg, 11.5ppg, 5.5rpg, 9.2apg, 0.7spg, 0.3bpg, 1.8topg, 42.3%. --Man I still love this kid. 12, 9, 6 and 2topgs...all with A potential. He is going to be very, very good. If the scoring improves this TC, look out... PG: Darius Perry - 16.3mpg, 5.5ppg, 2.8rpg, 3.7apg, 1spg, 0.0bpg, 0.7topg, 34.2%. --Good production from him too...when translated into starting minutes, his number are approx. 11ppg, 5.5rpg, 7.5apg, 2spg, 1.4topg. I'll take it, and he also has A potential....the PG spot on the Raptors is locked up for many years to come. Title: Sim 9 Discussion Post by: BullsGM-old on November 12, 2005, 10:13:49 AM K, what am I missing and what the hell is trev talking about?
Title: Sim 9 Discussion Post by: KingsGM-old on November 12, 2005, 10:17:03 AM I hope he's just overacting, nothing more :?
Title: Sim 9 Discussion Post by: RaptorsGM on November 12, 2005, 10:30:48 AM Ok, there was the big argument with the Spurs (see: Completed Trades Forum).
After the ruling, the SpursGM made a thread saying he was having a fire sale, blowing up his team. Bods responded by saying "fuck it. i quit. If anyone wants to take over we cna vote on it". Now, I'm hoping it was just Bods speaking out of anger and frusteration (heh, I've done that a few times myself), but the problem is he hasn't said anything to confirm that he isn't quitting. Title: Sim 9 Discussion Post by: BullsGM-old on November 12, 2005, 11:24:22 AM Yeah lol, I've made one of those threads (about blowing up my team after a bad TC) but it was out of frustration. Hopefully Bods meant the same, this league would crumble without him
