Title: Rookie of the Month?
Post by: NetsGM on February 10, 2005, 09:52:46 PM
Woah....rookie of the month?

What are they, on crack?

Rafael Araujo    19.9 pts, 9.9 rebs, 1.5 ast, 0.7 blk.  .452 shooting.
Emeka Okafor  21.7 pts, 10.5 rebs, 3.0 ast, 2.0 blk.  .472 shooting.

More points, more rebounds, double the assists, 3x the steals, and better shooting.

Hello?

I think what they were trying to say was RAPE OF THE MONTH

which goes to the Mavs for getting Araujo from me :(

I guess I can take solace in the fact that Rose has done nothing for them.

But seriously, Nets, the computer is so fvcked up when it coes to stuff like that. Every year, the All-Star selections are WACK

I had Emeka getting 28 and 9 and he didnt get picked for the sophmore team.

ha ha ha.

I told you man, 20/10.

Alright, so a sixth of the way through the year and I'm 0.1 pt and 0.1 rebound off.

And people said it was the best trade ever for you ;)

You also have to look at team record.  Can't just judge by their stats.

Just judge on those words, I don't think you going to trade with me again in the future.

You have to go by supporting cast, not just team record.

Look at my starting pg and sg.  Would they even be in the rotation in 90% of the teams in the league?

Less supporthing cast mean more chance for Okafor to score.

More options typically means more efficiently.

But Okafor's shooting a higher percentage.

And, more opportunities to score?

Okafor:  17.2 fga/game.
Arajuo: 16.9 fga/game.

Seems like they have about the same number of looks.  Okafor produces more, with the opposition concentrating more on him.

Sorry, you can spin it all you want, Okafor is better, has played better, and you'd trade Hoffa for him in a second.

I'm not saying Araujo is better than Okafor.

Do you think it has anything to do with Okafor coming from Free Agency and there being no Bobcats

No, this game has nothing to do with or without Bobcats.

Okafor is a rookie, no one for should know how the computer handles awards and all stars selection.

Okafor is considered a rookie.  In the game program there's a window to view "rookie league leaders", where you can sort ppg, rpg, etc of all rookies (and, of course, okafor's on the top of them all ;) )

The computer makes bonehead selections in things like this.

Oh, I'll definetly trade again with you. I'm still fairly happy with the trade we made. Finley has been nice, but the best part about him is that his contract expires next year, where I'll have 30 mil coming off.

And Pavel has done everything I need him to do so far. It's just a matter of him improving next training camp.

I'm thrilled with a 7-6 record.

Maybe they did.

But trust me, once you get to the All-Star game, you won't believe who is playing/starting.
